I’ll try my best to put a parallax into English. We all know if you hold your finger out in front of us and move our head around, what the finger is lined up with will change. The same thing happens with cross hairs, so the parallax adjustment puts the crosshairs into the some plane as what you are aiming at so there will not be that deviation and you are 100% sure your cross hairs are where they actually appear to be.

Lol... This would be a great birthday present! Contest ends on my BD and it's chambered in the very first rifle I bought for myself to go deer hunting up North. FYI... Alabama deer aren't thick enough for it especially at 30 yards. First time hunting in North Alabama, I walked up a buck walking down a hill. It popped up broadside, looked in my direction. Shot it right behind the left shoulder at a forward angle and blew off the right shoulder. It died instantly. Never used a 300 Win Mag in Alabama again. I now exclusively just use my grandfather's pre-64 Winchester .32 Win SPL carbine. Love that rifle.

11:58 Don't worry about using the distance between POI and POA if you have a mildot or some other kind of ranging reticle. Just measure the distance with the reticle and adjust accordingly. No need to shoot, figure out how far it's off in inches and then convert to your scopes turrets (moa/mil). If the shot is a half mil high and a mil left, adjust accordingly. The actual inch measurement isn't needed. Not that Rob needs any help but someone in the comments may appreciate it.

Put your rifle in a shooting vise, fire a round then while looking through the scope move your cross hairs until they're over the bullet hole. That's the cheapest and easiest way to sight in a rifle. That's called the 2 round method first shot to adjust the scope 2nd to make sure its zeroed.

Parralax adjustment is to focus the light reflecting from your target back to you on the same plain as your reticle inside the scope. Both images should appear as 1 when you move around behind your scope.

Check out the 6.5 PRC. It’s basically a magnum version of the 6.5 creedmore. It’s got almost the exact same power and velocity as the 300 win mag but a fraction of the recoil and less drop

Adjust windage for wind, adjust elevation for velocity and/or high angle shooting. Parallax is adjusted to bring the target image onto the same plane as the reticle (assuming FFP) so both are clear. Your occular should be adjusted to the shooter eyes. Ryan Cleckner does a very good series in this.
