I just had surgery and spent 2 weeks binge watching Little House..so comforting.

Wow, what a ton of research you did on this show!! I remember crying in every episode. Landon had an incredible talent for using good actors, storylines, and music together to evoke strong emotions.

I remember the "Sylvia" two-parter in Season 7. The father's reaction to his daughter's assault was terrible. He backed away from her and said, "No one must know of this disgrace." Thankfully, Albert finally understood what had happened to her and gave her complete support. Many shows would've avoided this topic.

Please Queenie Smith was the Walnut Grove Seamstress and her name was Mrs. Whipple. She was NOT the mother of Miss Beatle. She had a son that was only in 1 episode and died.

I’m 54 and grew up with “Little House….” and read the book in the 6th grade. I remember being allowed to stay up an extra half hour on Wednesdays because it was “Little House” night. I was so drawn to the show that goes “back in time.” In fact, I even had the rag doll Hollie Hobby, (who remembers)? My whole room was decorated with prairie girls! 😆

The picture of the older Jonathan Gilbert is not Jonathan. In fact, Jonathan just did a cast reunion a few days ago. You had some facts right but also some wrong.

I just watch shows or movies for the acting talent alone. I don’t feel the need to know everything about the actors as long as they can do a good job portraying a character and engage the audience. Once in a while I come across these videos and think I might learn something like actors are no different than any ordinary person with problems and hang ups. Acting is their job. They’re not in a competition for sainthood.

You've got a couple of things wrong here. 1- Melissa and Jonathan (and their sister Sara) are all speaking and close. It wasn't that Melissa and Jonathan were fighting, Jonathan left to travel on his own and explore the world. They've been in touch and both came to the 50th Anniversary Festival in Simi Valley last month - and sat side by side. 2- You said this, but then corrected some of it later. Michael didn't "find out" that Big Sky had to be returned to its original state (per Producer Kent McCray -NOT MCCRARY- in numerous interviews, and it's been confirmed by his widow, Casting Director susan McCray) it was part of the original contract and MIchael, who didn't want other productions using the iconic sets anyway, wrote the story about the land barrons so that both he AND Big Sky Ranch got what they wanted.

As of today, Melissa & Jonathan Gilbert have that sister & brother relationship ....look at the 50 reunion of LHOTP. Also that pic of ''Willie'' and the man on the right isn't the same person.

When this tv series was on network TV, back in the latter half of the 70s and early 80s, I was to young to understand the themes of the show. I was a preteen out doing preteen things at the time, but now, I'm a huuuuggee fan of little House on the Prairie, so much so, that I got the complete series on dvd.

The video introduced Queenie Smith's character as Miss Simms' mother? This info is incorrect. Queenie Smith played the character Mrs Whipple on the show. Mrs Whipple only had 1 child, named Granville Whipple, and he died from an overdose on the show.

Nellie’s husband was Percival Dalton. It’s Nellie Dalton to show she’s kissing her husband as his wife.

I grew up in Tuolumne county, where MUCH of the shows outdoor shots was filmed. The cast and crew were wonderful to the community, often participating in local charity events (the CHP once pitched a painted white grapefruit to Michael during a soft ball game, He was covered in splattered grapefruit because, of course, he hit it) Just because some of the cast had issues they were, mostly, fantastic people. (Locals, as well as half pint, weren't fond of Mellisa Sue Anderson either)

Steve Tracey might not have been successfully treated, but his involvement in research may have helped my cousin. He tested HIV+ in 1985, when he was only 25 years old, but the infamous drug cocktail came along not too long after he tested positive. He likely died sooner than he would've without AIDS, but thanks to the cocktail he lived to be 63 yrs. old. Considering when he first contracted the disease he actually had a fairly long life. The experiments that people like Steve Tracey participated in may well be the reason my cousin was given so much more time than others.

Funny how now, all the past years we have been wrong on everything. So glad this new bunch of "writers and media critics" have figured how to perfect the world with their hacks and advise.

If you listened carefully, you would have also heard the name of Charles Landon instead of Michael Landon. There were quite a few mistakes throughout this video. More noticeable to fans of the show

I read the books of Alison Arngrim, Melissa Gilbert, and Melissa Anderson. I was shocked to find out Arngrim was a victim of SA by her own brother, The NY Times said her core audience is gay men where she found a renewed revival and embraced her character after being typecast for many years and she became an AIDS activist after her onscreen husband Steve Tracy whom she was close to died of AIDS at 34 in 1986. Melissa Gilbert’s book talks a lot about Rob Lowe to the point I felt she never got over him. I don’t remember much from Melissa Andersons book. Plan on rereading all 3 as it’s been many years.

I watch various episodes every day on the *Pluto* network on my *Roku* because there are some episodes I like better than others but now the confusion I had in my head about Melissa Gilbert and Jonathan is cleared up because I knew they were siblings but I could never find any similarities in them to be brother and sister except for the dark colored hair. Now knowing he's adopted it all makes perfect sense!

When you think about it, you can come to the conclusion that the two girls had become friends in real life in order to become acquainted with each other's quirks, and know how far they could each other in scenes they had together.

Michael Landon's pancreatic cancer was most likely due to years of alcoholism. Many of those actors also smoked cigarettes so lung cancer makes sense as does esophagus cancer. They drank heavy,smoking,drugs etc. Its not unusual for 4 actors to get cancer.

We all knew that Michael Landon had a drinking problem. I hate for people to talk about anyone after their death. I watched the show because I'd read all the books. The first "big," book I read by myself was, Little House in the Big Woods." That was the first one. I believe I was about 5 years old. I read the whole series.

I know why Mary and laura didnt get along . Laura had from the start the verry best script on set whith many different storylines , Mary Just had a verry small part as mama's Girl . Only much later in the serie Mary got her own storyline as a blind Girl and teacher .

I read all the books when i was young. They were great.

Never saw this show not even a replay The look of it had to appeal to me and they weren't attending to the children's teeth. It just seems like the behavior of the adults was shameful in front of children. I would not have my kid act in this show. Glad to know I didn't miss anything.

Geez, I don’t know if you spent enough time saying the actor who played Percival (who was on the show less than a season) was gay and talking about HIV/AIDS. 🙄 I was alive in the 1980s and my mother in medical school during that time and I am a lifelong southerner. I was taught as a child about the reality of HIV/AIDS. But the way you depict it, only gay men had AIDS in the 1980s, which is a pretty disgusting thing to infer. You don’t discuss anyone else’s sexual orientation. Only Melissa Gilbert and Michael Landon are mentioned as having heterosexual spouses. So why does it even matter that one actor is gay?

You know what I really wish they would have done? Have a reminiscing show with Laura and Nellie. After their brawl when Laura failed her teaching exam because of Nellie, it’s like they never spoke again. A couple of more episodes with those two being friends would have been fun to see-or just something! LHOTP dropped the ball with those two main characters in their adult years. No, they didn’t “become good friends” as the narrator claimed. Speaking of the narrator, where did they get someone to have such a plethora of false information about the show and the characters?
