Mingyu respects Piazolla very much, and tango is one of Mingyu's favorite music genres. That's why he tries his best to share Piazolla' s and tango songs whenever he has solo performances.
He masters them. He already was my Forestella 's favourite but after listening to his tango performances I just surrendered to his genius. I adore him!!!❤

The show called 'open concert' started to air since 1993. It has shown many talented musicians from idols, balad singers and rockers to classic or jazz musicians. This show is so well balanced that is steadily loved. It has more views rates than Kpop shows like Inkigayo, Music bank, Mcountdown because open concert doesn't focuss on only kpop music but also it embraces variety music genre for not only tennagers but also seniors. Unfortunately, Koreans don't know well about Spanish singers but Despacito, Havana... However, Piazola? Many people would know it. Kim yuna, so called Queen and very famous in Korea as Winter Olympic hero showed her last skaete program, before retiring, with 'Adios Nonino' of Piazola. And as you know, Ko woorim, the base of Forestella, is her husband❤. Anyway, thanks for reacting Cho mingyu. The last mini album before Woorim's military service was released yesterday. 'Chagalls's dream', and the title 'Snow globe'. The title song was composed by HyungHo and arranged by members and Jaewon Chang(music director of forestella concert). 'Snow globe' MV is kind of spooky animation. You guys will love it.

I Think Mingyu chooses the songs himself. He has a very wide repertoir and interest in world music. During the Phantom Singer competition, he chose the songs for all of the performances they did. He said in an interview that he was searching the internet about popular songs on charts

Jo Min-gyu sang this song as a duet with someone other than Forestella, and his identity will be very interesting.

The bandoneonist is Ko Sang Ji, who has trained under masters such as Walter Castro and Federico Pereira. Ko and Cho have been collaborated some Tango classics on stages occasionally. Forestella members listen wide variety of music, and each have their own unique and distinctive tastes. So as for the song choice, it is known that they basically make it themselves.

Hola chicos!!! Me encanta el entusiasmo que ponen con cada reacción a Forestella. Y gracias por las consideraciones hacia la música y cultura argentinas. Piazzola fue un excelente embajador mundial de nuestra música popular. El tango es muy atractivo para todo el mundo. Es una melodía melancólica, con letras llenas de sentimientos. Las versiones de Cho Mingyu son magistrales. Hay muchas horas de arduo trabajo detrás para lograr involucrarse con la letra e interpretar con tan alto nivel de calidad. Es extraño que elija este repertorio a su edad , muy cierto. Buena pregunta para hacerle. Mención especial para los músicos. El resultado es una versión espectacular. I always find your reactions interesting and informative as you obviously have knowledge of music. I became a Forestella fan last year and even went to their concert earlier this year when they had their North American tour. I started looking back at footage of their competition on Phantom 2 which they won and they, especially Cho Mingyu, were always ahead of other contestants with their music selections and presentations. While the other groups were doing the usual types of songs (semi-classical and classical) with a modern twist, Forestella was taking risks with very different genres. They did rock like Radioactive, Maldita Sea mi Suerte, they also did tango in their finals with Come un Eterno Addio by Claudio Baglioni. As to the outstanding musicians on the various shows, I wouldn’t be surprised or rather I would expect that they probably perfected their craft abroad. Many of the Korean musicians end up spending time abroad for their graduate studies. In fact Cho Mingyu was going to go to Europe right before participating in the Phantom competition.

Thanks for your amazing reaction to Cho MinGyu of Forestella again! He has a huge passion for foreign languages. He wrote Latin lyrics in Save our lives (Forestella's original song prior to UTOPIA you haven't reacted yet). He put some Gaelic lyrics in his solo original song Will, he sang Irish folk song (Celtic Woman version) Téir Abhaile Riú in his solo stage in Forestella concert. He has a fabulous solo cover on Kill This Love feat. Harry Potter concept in British accent too. As always he did a great job every single piece and I love all of those! Y como uds expresaron, en Argentina convergen muchas culturas producto de la inmigración, mayormente Europea. Si bien la " conquista" ....si se la quiere llamar así fue hecha por los Españoles, y la fundación de la mayoría de las ciudades ,que hoy son las capitales y/o ciudades más importantes de cada país tienen ese origen,la gran masa población al,se llevó a cabo entre 1880 y 1930 en mi país; y el resultado es que los Italianos, son los que ocupan el 1° puesto de cantidad de inmigrantes en Argentina,2° Españoles,3° franceses,4° Alemanes y 5° Asiáticos.
La cultura del tango,su música ( el instrumento que uds. Llaman acordeón, típico de zonas de Francia e Italia,en Argentina se modificó un poco y se llama BANDONEON,y" ES " el tango), baile,compositores,se hizo muy popular en países Asiáticos como Japón, especialmente. No se si en Korea es tan popular. Cuando se realiza " el mundial de tango" ,aquí, siempre hay parejas de Japón y de Rusia,inclusive han ganado extranjeros,superando a los propios Argentinos,lo cuál es muy raro de ver.
Latin music in Korea isn't anything new; Lena Park for example covered a Korean version of Camila's Mientes. And there's a ton of native Spanish speakers in Korea who are ethnically Korean - they grew up in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Guatemala, and Paraguay. Cho Min-Gyu might lean Argentinian b/c from what I know, most Spanish-speaking Koreans are from Argentina. Don't think too deep. I think they choose their own pieces to perform and it just happens that Cho is conversant with this language stuffs(He graduates from SNU, so naturally his learning ability should be very good). There is not a thing like an audience or market for Spanish stuffs whether it is Argentina or other nations. The foreign language is a huge barrier, making the entire nation struggling with English alone even though Koreans are far better than Chinese or Japanese in foreign lanuage. Just put it in your shoes like when you try to learn Korean, not just saying hello or thank you bullshits. Do you know anything, any atoms, or any micrones about past or traditional Korean songs or literature ? The foreign stuffs presented by Korean artists just happen to be relatively well known in that field for some quirky reasons and frankly what other language stuffs other than English are there for outsiders to deal with ? just some Spanish, just some Italian, just some French, ..., that's it. Forestella already dealt with all these stuffs. Maybe the industry tends to take these stuffs as classic ones and as good for their showing off.
