"fuck shamu in the blow hole" is a reference to the famous SeaWorld trained whale. It was called Shamu. It was one of the best insults Homelander sent out in this show.

There would have been quite a few easy ways in which they could have dealt with Translucent. Just plug the exhaust-pipe of the car into the room and wait an hour. Dropping him in a nearby body of water wouldn't have worked, due to them needing to stay in the room to block the implants signal, but considering they knocked him unconscious multiple times, just do that again and put his head in a small basin. Or while you have him unconscious, plug up his nose and mouth. Poison would also have been an option. Frenchy already has narcotics with him, so just make him overdose on those. Or mix up something else and pour it down his throat, while he's unconscious. Or considering how they were already electrocuting him, they could have just done more of that, but up the power as far as they can... or just keep the current that nocked him out going for say... half an hour and see if that's enough to either size his heart up completely or cook his insides. If it can render him unconscious from a 2 second contact, surely keeping the current running for so long is going to do some serious damage.
