About twenty years ago we used to catch the skipjacks behind Kentucky dam where they would swirl around by the thousands. We used crappie jigs and would catch one on about every other cast. We froze them and used them in the summer to catch catfish on trotlines. For some reason, since then they have become very scarce and harder to catch many. There are a huge number of asian carp in there now, so maybe those have displaced the 'jacks.

I've been watching you for about 2 weeks now and I gotta say you are legit bama. I was born and raised in centre al but now I live in waycross ga and I've been watching your channel to see what the crappie are doing. We just got back to waycross today and I gotta say you know your crappie when it comes to fishing, yeah is wasn't good because of the weather but watching your channel let me know to expect that with all the rain yall have got. Thanks for the trailer hook tip and explaining why ! I now know why my skip jack is coming off with tribal hook and why to change it with a single hook . If they are not natural in your lake there not good bait. catch gizzard shad and bluegill for catfish bait in GA or maybe herring if your around a lake with them

bro pro tip here. put 5 jig heads on about a foot or foot and half apart. put white curly tails. red blue and greens sometimes work also. and do this same thing except with jigs and work it back with crazy action and load up 5 at a time. :)

Don't have any Skips here in PA,but I do have a roof you can do if ya want...lol My mothers A-frame,grandfather built it in the mid 70's did all the building and laying sheet aluminum himself at 70.It's only somewhere around 18-20/12...lol
