A gotcha with cut detection in the free version (and paid) via the media storage method, rather than within the paid media pool methods of scene detection is that if you set the threshold too low, resulting in lots of incorrect short clips being imported you can not rejoin through cuts in the timeline, because these were imported as individual clips. So caution is recommended - set the threshold higher (fewer cuts) is better than too sensitive. Just note the areas where you have many short confidence lines. Then review your imported clips on those zones just in case Resolve missed a cut. Resolve seems to use both audio and visual scene detection. So a simple audio blip /pop (or hand wave blocked face) might trigger a scene cut if you set the scene detect threshold to low. Things an editor would ignore, or rather mark as potential b-roll insert points to cover. A plethora of unnecessary auto cuts doesn’t make b-roll life easier especially when you have underlying dialogue you wish to preserve. I am sure there are tricks to work around these issues, but figuring those out is an exercise for later. If you use the paid version you can restore/remove auto cut points generated in the media pool method. But not in the media storage method.

Hello! Thanks for the tutorials you make for Resolve. They are very helpful for this amazing video editor. I have one question that it is kinda irrelevant with the subject you talk about here in this video. When i make my video color grades, i always like to generate LUTs and store them as starting points to my other projects but from what i have understand so far, LUTs does not store information from some adjustments like Shadows, Highlights, Mid/Detail for sure. So, my question is this. What other elements can not be used for LUTs?
One thing that has always concerned me - using this method, is it not impossible to add transitions between clips, since each clip has no extra frames?
