the point of the tryhard insult is to imply that your life is so worthless and uneventful that you can afford to spend hundreds of hours learning META for a video game, but he's bad at it because he only plays casually between writing award winning non-fiction novels, banging supermodels, whilst being an astronaut AND a cowboy at the same time.

Now that i've caught up with the Salt Mines, I think it's hilarious that I've seen all 3 races and most basic builds called imba.

Teer has just pulled off what has got to be the best positioning i have ever seen, in the same game as he scanned to kill an observer whilst building a missile turret in range of it. He put i think 8 marines just in range of a bunch of slow zealots and archons, and i think 2 range inside his own seige tanks, which caused his opponent to instantly Amove his entire zealot force towards the marines, only for them to be oblitered by the concentrated fire of 4 seige tanks before they could even drag splash damage onto the marines. Legitimately perfect.

My favorite part is that the guy was at least a little self-consicous about his initial "mognrel" typo but absolutely nothing else.

I'm pretty sure that first Terran thinks they should win because they trade well, not realizing that efficiency can only take you so far if your opponent has double your income.

Also back when municipal plumbing was not installed or invented. So ones only source of water is what you collect yourself.

I actually played Acnologia a few months ago and DID beat him with ultra's He made ghosts that game too but move commanded his bio ball up a ramp where my army was waiting 😭 I almost lost though, he dropped like 12 marines in my base REALLY early and if my overlord hadnt seen it i wouldnt have survived.

Many years ago playing World of Warcraft I didn't get an invite to a raid with my guild and I was so damn hostile. I wrote most of a page of pure vitriol and hate... reread it and almost posted it... almost. I sat back and tried to work out who would read it, who would care and would it increase my chances of getting back into the raids. In the end I made the active decision to not take the entitled route and instead took it as a day off a game that was becoming a chore. Deleted the post and moved on. From then on I've always reminded myself I play these games to play with people so I should be trying to make the experience as positive as I can for everyone... if that means I babysit players full of hatred and cop a face-full of abuse, I can walk away knowing I enjoyed the game far more than them and I'm the better man for it. I don't need to lord that over them, I'm better than that. Sure it's a very Zen approach but my life has been so much better... play these games to play with people not against them. Sure winning feels good too, but you also need to let other people win. No-one wants to play a game permanently loosing. it's no fun and people stop playing the game. Less players and the game dies, and I don't want that. So let people win, take the shit they throw at you and walk away knowing if nothing else you're enjoying losses as well as wins.

Imagine threatening to shoot someone in the head …over losing a StarCraft match.. only time I’ve ever raged was when players were winning and decided to be pricks about it and talk trash but never anything THAT insane.

In my high school (in the math and science specialty center) a C+ with zero effort was more highly praised than any other grade. Anything hirer and you were accused of studying. If you collect top students, you have to challenge them. Star Craft did challenge us (there was one exception).

A bit of a late comment, but I just want to point out that while the kind of shit talk that some of these people do, are obviously not okay; the best way to deal with this sort of thing, is not to just consider them "small yapping dogs"... but to point them out as such and point out how ridiculous they sound and how embarrassing it actually is. Preferably by big content creators or just in big communities. Laugh at them in public and how stupid they sound. So good job!

It's funny when I play I get mad at myself. Why bc I can never remember what goes to what. I always have to look and see what I need to build to get the next upgrade or next unit. I'm truly trash at starcraft. But at least I know I'm the problem.

I lost to Fulger a day after this upload. I made sure to be a polite loser.

I can almost sympathise with Acnologia. His macro was quite bad, his build order was laughable, but his micro was pretty decent, and he was very agressive, went onto the map, killed bases, denied that third for a significant amount of time, cleared creep, and was just generally active, whilst his opponent just sat at home, took bad engagements, didn't even expand particularly aggressively, and was extremely passive in general. Opponets macro wasnt even that great, not bad, but he had a ton of money banked up himself, although he actually had a bit of a build order. Obviously, that does not mean Acnologia deserves to win or anything even aproaching that. But it can be extremely frustrating to go up against someone whos just turtleing, esspecially when you know you are taking significantly better engagements and actually doing decent damage. Gets even more frustrating when you do "just take one bad engagement and suddenly you are dead". The BM pausing alone makes Acnologias behaviour inexcusable, but you have to sympathise with the frustration. Edit: i thought BM pausing would be worst thing in this video. Boy oh boy was i wrong.

You should make it your mission to grief lower level players and get their accounts banned, that's a great way for you to stand out of the sc2 casting pack. Showing good games couple days after wardi and lowko stream them is not much of a schtick.

I played a Smurf last night. I mainly play Zerg (Plat 2 on NA server) but mess around with Terran a bit. Silver 2 with Terran played a Zerg with 260 ave apm and just trolling the whole game.
