THIS will damage your FLOYD ROSE
* How to NOT adjust the height of your Floyd Rose*
When it comes to the hight adjustment of a floating bridge like a Floyd Rose for example, its really super important to NOT do it just like you think it would be done, if you do it like you think it would be done you will seriously damage the tremolo and it will never stay in tune again and you will have to buy a new Floyd Rose.
This apply to all floating tremolo systems but even more to the cheap ones out there, just one little turn of that bridge post and you can have messed up the whole tremolo. It really important that you do research before you try to adjust the height of your floating tremolo system, because if you don't, it can be a very expensive adventure. You don't need any special expensive tools to adjust the height of your floating tremolo system, not even the Floyd Rose tremolo, you just need some basic knowledge about how to adjust the height of the tremolo, without seriously damage the tremolo.

I did this on my new 1000 series must have still been too much tension though. As I have found that it goes flat or sharp depending on lifting or dropping the bar.

Yeah, you need to replace the baseplate on your tremolo or swap the whole tremolo.. to get it working properly again.
