This clip is from the video vault in my Keep the Blaze Alive Coaching Squad (aka “The Squad”). The Squad has three levels of membership, and we meet weekly online with a 2-hour livestream where I answer questions and tell stories, and the Tier 1 members get two monthly two-hour Zoom calls where we talk face-to-face. I also host two 3-day events per year for my Tier 1 members. Learn more about The Squad at / coachingsquad

This is one of the many reasons I prefer an ambi safety on my rifles. As for the sling, I personally prefer it as close to the receiver as I can get them, both front and rear. I have very long arms for my height, so for what ever reason, I prefer it. I can transition from left to right faster, still have support, still get the weapon out of my way. Either by swinging it to my back or tilting it to my lap if I need to crouch. Great video once again, I will definitely be sharing it!

Love your videos-- wish you would look through holstering your pistol though. One of the most dangerous things you can do with a pistol is holster it-- it's important to train (especially newbies) to look through the holstering process.

I don't change my hand position when switching to a non dominate side with a rifle...it's little awkward at first but it's faster to transition and I don't have to relearn safety/trigger/mag/bolt manipulation/articulation. Considering how infrequently the need to switch arises I just feel like it's a simpler solution where all I need to do is switch shoulders/achieve a proper cheek weld/find the dot/sights with the non dominant eye and I'm good.

I have one distinct advantage and that is that I'm left eye dominant so I choose to shoot my long arms in my left hand and my sidearms in my right. The reason that's advantageous for me is that when I switch to my support hand it's actually my dominant hand so I get the side effect of being an Ambi shooter. This is due to damage in my right eye I can still see but not as well in that eye. So I found I was just better off using my left eye
