Its the diversity of their catalog that makes them my favorite band and in my opinion one of the most talented bands of our era. I'm also a so cal native(now living in NYC) but have been following them the whole time. The progression of their sound is nothing short of amazing. And Dustin's solo stuff is incredible also.
Been so in love with this band since the first time I heard Phoenix Ignition. I know I haven't been a fan since the very beginning but it sure feels like it. Such powerful lyrics and vocals. Forever one of my favorite bands.
Its been a journey to watch these guys mature through their music, im terribly sad to see them take an indefinite hiatus, but it pleases me to see them before they go. Godspeed men, I'll be here when you get back.
I love Thrice's earlier stuff as I've been listening to them since the first album, but my favorite album is always their latest release. They are incredibly talented band and this evolution of their style cements them as the future of classic rock in my mind. There is no other band in the industry that can move me like they can.
I always feel like i am one of the few people that actually "gets" how amazing thrice really is, they are the greatest musicians of this generation, its nice to get on these videos and see a ton of other people that feel the same way.
These guys are humble, hardworking, family men who happen to be amazing musicians. If only every talented musician was like this, a lot of them that died young might still be alive.
People who know Thrice appreciate, but they're one of the most unappreciated bands if not the most, ever. Goes to show the music that gets exalted is not always what actually has substance. Especially these days. The truth and poetry in their work I'm not really seeing much of anywhere else. One day they'll get their due
@robbydesigns been listening to these guys for years, living here in southern california its been a pleasure to watch their music mature over time listen to their entire catalouge and you'll see what i mean
@AxlTerry94 Thrice's lead singer (Dustin Kensrue) has a solo album + a Christmas album. Very amazing songs as well. Other bands worth checking out are The Afters, David Crowder Band, and Sanctus Real.
@AxlTerry94 Switchfoot is pretty great. Them and Thrice are my favorites ever. Um... Check out Dead Poetic, the CD Vices. They aren't together anymore, but that CD is stellar. House of Heroes, you'll love them.
@kuieth28 to each his own man, i understand what your saying, and believe me, i love to fuckin rock out to old Thrice just like the rest of us, but I'm also not confined to just that style of play (not saying you are) it just depends on what mood I'm in, but to be totally honest, as I've gotten older I've listened to hardcore or post hardcore less than i did as a kid seeing as to why i love thrice's evolving style, sort of suits my tastes a little better
@ryzo58 I know exactly what you mean...sometimes i stop and think what im going to hear 30 years in the future? turning 30 and still with my punk rock soul intact but just like you my taste is more refined than it was....what i was trying to say before, was that every band in the world have the right to evolve, but not Thrice :p things were perfect as they were and they will always be my favourite band....i miss Teppei's guitar orgasmic solos, and Dustin's scream....peace m8
@ryzo58 Unfortunately i cant...but ive tried so hard. It was the most difficult thing stop to hear these guys, but since Vheissu (including it) things have gone so different....i dont say theyre bad, im just saying theyre not Thrice. To Awake and Avenge the dead will always be my/their anthem Ive seen them in Madrid and it was one of the best live performances ive seen... But ill always love these guys, and listen to their first 4 albums
