I’m sorry that 99 people missed the opportunity to send you both Christmas wishes in a card. I wish you both good tidings, happiness and health in the new year. Sincerely.
How appropriate that you lit the Advent candle for Joy today ... the look on Arne's face expressed sheer joy when he found the musical snowglobe. Thanks for taking us with you. XXXX
Silly folks--there is no Advent goodie on 25 December because that's when you get all the gifts! You guys are so funny in the shop! Arne eying the tinsel and Carlos hunting for treasures is just Advent gold! Thank you for sharing with us!
"a lot of things that are plain ugly..." I laughed so hard Carlos - it's so true! For all the treasures, there's also not so much lol! Thank you for taking us Christmas thrifting (and that pink cookie tin is fabulous 😍)
You've definitely put me in the Christmas mood! 🌲❤ I can't believe that you find your Christmas balls in all the thrift shops you visit! Who would give away such beautiful knitted balls?! 😲 In North America we talk about "the thrill of the hunt" looking through the ugly stuff and delighting in finding a treasure! You've certainly found some great treasures! I love the Christmas tree stands that you discovered and that pink cookie tin is gorgeous. Looking forward to the next video during this season of Advent. Much love, Cheryl
It's raining in the Bay Area, so I am sitting here enjoying my coffee and watching you find all the goodies that become your treasures. This put a smile on my face. Thank you so much for sharing.
The guess I have on the tray is a beautiful picture of the VW Beetle with a 🎄 tied to the top remembering the fairytale based on a true story of the "VW Beetle and the Two Princes in search of the Christmas 🎄."
Love that stitching book Arne found! I love to decorate with Norwegian decorations. I cross stitched a table runner that I purchased in Norway when I was on a trip there years ago. LOVE that candleholder.
Thank you, both, for your lovely videos and for sharing your holiday traditions. This year is a bit difficult because I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer in June, but your videos help bring a little joy into the season. Thank you.
May you be blessed with a holy and happy Advent season. On Thanksgiving Day, last Thursday, one of the things I was so thankful for, is having you (Freya included!) in my life.
Oh my goodness I love both of you guys so much you make me smile. Oh I can’t get enough of you guys. Thank you so much for all these incredibly awesome episodes.
I love learning morning about Norwegian culture! If I was traveling, I’m the one that want to be among the people, eating at local mom and pop’s, looking for artist’s shops, visiting the yarn and fabric stores, and a little tourist attractions. Seeing the ornaments reminds me of one’s my mom gave me one Christmas that hung on my childhood tree and now hang on mine🥰 Happy Advent! Cheryl
Perhaps you could find two slim pieces of wood and a crimping tool to close the gap in the pink cookie tin. I wish you a warm and joyful Christmas season❤
I also recycle my cards, some too beautiful to discard. Being 1st generation Canadian my Norsk parents taught us everything Norwegian. I found straw ornaments at thrift store Luke 15 for 2.! Made into a wreath. My woodcarving hubby made Nisses this Xmas.. and now everyone wants them. My dad made Nisse ornaments and the Swedish horses with ROSEmaling on them. I live the 3 tired tin for gift giving!love groggy. My grandmother and mom embroidered Christmas linen table cloths with the stave church, bells, einter scene and table cloths . Krumkake making today. Test batch all for me lol. God Jul u 2!!
Arne, you are such a diplomat! Take the pink one! All the while, he is really not liking your choice of tins! LOL Maybe you should shop together, separately ,and show each other what you bought after you leave the store. That way, everybody is happy with what they've purchased. Mind you, I did really like the pink tin! It's one I would have chosen as well, Carlos! ❤🎅
Love when you go thrift shopping! My husband and myself spent the month of July in Sandefjord. Couldn’t believe the thrift stores! They were wonderful. Couldn’t believe the pine furniture and the reasonable prices. So hard to contain myself but got my purchases all home. God July to you both
Oh my you are both brilliant at Thrift shopping in a magical thrift shop I look forward to seeing the corn dollies garlands & stag & battery candles in your 7 candle holder
Christmas cards are a tradition that I enjoy. I belong to two on line book groups and participate in their exchange plus family and friends. Merry and Blessed Christmas season.
I'm surprised about the lack of cards that you received. I still about 150 each year. I LOVE mail!! This thrift shopping was great fun, thank you for sharing. Safe travels! ❤
Thank you for sharing. I always enjoy seeing other cultures and the their celebrations. Thank you for all of the episodes in December. I have all your Christmas ball patterns.
We have a tradition of woven straw items like the lovely garland, here in UK called 'Corn Dollies' . Really nice to watch you browsing and finding treasures. When we were children we used to light a candle for the four Advent Sundays, not sure why we dont now though, its a nice idea.
I don’t celebrate Christmas but I am interested in how it is celebrated in other countries, so it was lovely to go thrift shopping with you, Tak! You work so hard on providing content for your RU-vid channel and I’m looking forward to the whole of December to see you both. I hope you enjoyed Thanksgiving in the US a. Be well, Sally 🌹
I am so glad you took those straw pieces. They obviously were woven by someone very talented. Thanks for the shopping tour, I just love your thrift store visits!
A wonderful way to spend part of the first Sunday of Advent - thrift shopping with handsome men in red flannel! Looking forward to another beautiful season with you both!
Loved the thrift shopping. We have lots of charity shops over here in Northern England. Great for sidfitng through lots of junk to find our treasures. I do have to say though... I loved the Christmas cookie tins that Arne selected. They would have been coming home with me!!!
November 27 2022: I am so loving your paiinting on the door. As always I enjoy your podcasts/video’s. I am so happy that you are thrift shopping while I spend time also doing some Advent crochet socks. I am working on your Advent Christmas Ball. I see a bit of Santa collection. A dear friend of mine passed away on Thanksgiving Day of this year. Years ago and every year for Christmas she gave me Santa’s. She was not aware of the collection until I posted it one year. Its sad a happy that I will have this memory of her every year. Arne is such a finder with magazines.
In the US, the third Sunday of Advent is Gaudate Sunday- for joy- in anticipation of thr imminent arrival of our Savior. May you both receive God’s true joy and blessings during this season of hopeful waiting.
Oh, what fun. Wait, I see a pair of old double blade ice skates. I had a pair just left me that when I was little. Everywhere you look, so many treasures. Thank you for take not us shopping with you. I loved this! 🎉❤❤😊
I love thrift store shopping too and would have been thrilled with finding some of your knitted Christmas balls. I'm looking forward to your broadcasts throughout December. Greetings from Florida, USA!
Hello Arne and Carlos, I've really enjoyed this episode as usual particularly the "chic matches"! Lovely thrift shopping guys and I loved the straw garlands and ornaments.
I loved this episode very much. I spent some Sommerhidays in Norway and i love the christmas dekoration. Thank you for showing us! Hilsen fra Tyskland!
Oh this has been so lovely guys. I hope Arne gets the large cookie tin. Think he really wanted it. If he hasn’t I feel there will be another shop coming along. 🎄
Oh geez. Now I have to go to a thrift shop. I did just go to church bazaar and got some sewing goodies. You are fun, but remember to let a few things go, to let a few things in!
Don't forget the straw garlands. I really like the Scandinavian straw decorations. Hope that you are well and that all us hoi v well in North America. I am knitting your Christmas balls like mad!
Here in Germany we have also decorations out of straw. Even it is more traditional and kind of old fashioned. But I remember making straw stars in primary school.
Every time I see one of your Thrift Shops, I'm amazed by how organized it is! In the U.S., our Thrift Shops are definitely not that lovely at all. Your Thrift Shops look more like our Antique Shops.
Hope you boys have enjoyed your week off. I enjoyed the trip to the thrift shop with you today and look forward to watching you bake all the holiday cookies. Safe travels to PEI and back home. ❤️😘
The Winter Solstice is the center of my December and I love the Norwegian grays! I so enjoyed coming along with you. The light is waning here in Northern New England and am now inspired to get out my iron candle holder and load it up with candles! Thank you so much. Joy to you both!!!
So fun to see the Local Thrift Shop during the Christmas season - I wish I could just pop myself there and do some shopping! thanks for sharing with your you tube family!
You have such a nice store in Norway, wish we had the same in here in Denver. The US is so full of everything new and plastic junk. Happy shopping and hope to see how the items bought are displayed in your home. Hugs
C'est magnifique tout ce que vous nous faites découvrir avec émerveillement. Merci! C'est un plaisir de vous suivre . Désolée, je ne sais pas faire des phrases correctes en anglais.
Love hearing about the straw ornaments. I have some of the small heart ornaments Carlos showed us. Aren’t we supposed to have straw decorations at Christmas to ward off evil spirits? Lol.
Joy, as always, to both of you! I also have to send you a thank you for your Selbu Wrist warmers pattern. My friend broke her wrist and these are the perfect Christmas gift for her. They were a pleasure to make as are all of your patterns; Hello Christmas Balls on my needles!!! So grateful to both of you for the love and joy you bring to people all over the world. Hugs from Canada
