That and take a look at many of the "childhood actors" from 95-2010. Many of them have experienced abuse, drug abuse, neglect, undiagnosed mental health that has become more severe. It's like childhood actors are not the holy ones as people make them to be. They are victims too sometimes.

The child actors argument is ridiculous anyway. People absolutely know child actors are bad and care about it - that's why there are laws for them in the first place. It doesn't mean we can't also know and care that this is bad. We're not idiots who are only able to focus on one issue at a time. Both suck. People talk about both. Less people talk about this.

The child actors of the late 70s to early 80s were seriously some of the hardest hit. It's really sad. A few examples are Drew Barrymore, the Different Strokes kids, the Partridge Family, heck even the Brady Bunch kids ...there's so much to unpack about that era of child stars.

Unrealistic standards when it comes to money and even looks but most people especially young people want to take advantage of that and look the best in every way online when their life is crumbling in reality.

I've had years of education and in those years of education, I have learned that toddlers cannot grasp this kind of information, nor can they consent. Toddlers cannot understand what it means to have their videos up online for millions to see. Most teenagers can't understand how their own content can affect their future either.

I’ve been waiting all day for this to come out, when she first posted her response video I actually agreed with her. It made sense in the fact she was asking them and if they didn’t want to participate she wouldn’t make them. Then people were commenting about how kids couldn’t make informed consent and my thinking changed, they are absolutely right. What happens in 10 years if they change their mind? You can’t say “well you agreed” as they are only what 3 years old? It’s not how it works. I genuinely don’t believe she ever meant to exploit her kids when starting but once you know better you do better and clearly that’s not happened as she continued posting.

@@mikaylatillett4427 no it doesn’t, children legally can’t consent that’s why there are laws in place to protect them. Informed consent is a process in which you can communicate and weigh up information in order to make a choice, these kids don’t and will not understand at their age what 3 million people look like and how the internet works and how predators can use their images and footage. It is the parents duty to protect their children and their privacy, currently right now their privacy is not being respected. Just a hypothetical….ask a 3 year old what he or she would like to wear in the middle of a snow storm, I can guarantee you there would be kids wanting to dress up in a dress and sandals. They are unable to understand the consequences that wearing inappropriate clothing in bad weather can cause them serious harm because they don’t understand…they can scream and cry that they want to wear a dress (which is their choice) but a parents duty is to override that choice in the sake of their health to keep them safe from harm. Or it’s a bit like your 3 year old agreeing to only eat sweets and you allow it because that is their consent. Only years down the line they get cavities and diabetes, you really gonna turn round and say “well you were ok with it when you were 3”….NO, it’s a parents duty to protect them from harm.

And many have already proven that you don’t need to exploit the child for adults education! I love the TikTok’s that are therapists talking about abuse as I was. No children need to be in them. There’s also a really awesome awesome mom on TikTok who talks with her children (off the camera) or re-enacts what her children say in senecios that teach gentle parenting, informed consent, and how to handle difficult conversations. I think I’ve seen her children in a video in passing maybe 3 times. Only creeps care if the child is present. If you’re there for education it would not need the child appearance. ❤️

@@HeatheBar3 I believe information is really important and if someone has some knowledge that can help other parents then that’s great! But none of it needs to include the actual child. And when most of it all of the videos show the child then that’s a sure fire sign that it’s just for views and not an actual cause. My daughter is autistic and my son was a NICU baby. So I am on a couple groups to find “community” but never thought of putting my children up in those ways. It is so scary how gross people are. And I’m terrified to even think of creeps looking at my non-verbal, blonde hair, big blue eyed cutie and thinking nasty thoughts about her. Yea I get wanting people to see how cute your kids are but why do all these moms feel they need validation from strangers? It’s beyond me 😖

I will never forget I taught piano to this young kid who was about 6 yrs old. I remember the mom telling me he wanted to go to MIT and how bright he was. When he had his first lesson, I asked him if he wanted to go there and he said "What's that?" I rest my case.

Please cover Alice and Fern next. She claims the doctors killed her first child (hence why she won't go to the Dr or take her child there) when it was her that t boned someone and needed an emergency c section. She also claims to be pregnant, but won't take a test because it's not vegan even though she drives her car hundreds of miles for fun, her husband works in oil, she has ipads for everyone, etc. She also doesn't have a bedtime for child, wakes him up at 2am to go shopping, says moms who give birth medicated or via c sections didn't give birth, and says vegans don't sunburn. Lol.

Mobiles hadn't even cameras when mine were teenagers I was that cruel mother at 9,30 on school nights confiscated them😂 Back then was only texting, The school had a no mobile policy back then if confiscated you had to pay 5 euro fine to get the phone back.. They did it once I never paid the fine and had a whole four days without their phones 🤣🤣 lesson learnt by them quickly. They laugh about it now back then was like I'd committed a crime 😂😂😂

Seems like she still needs trauma therapy. The delusions she is living in are so scary. You think she would know about child development seeing as how shes "helping" people with trauma. I had to laugh when Josh said have you ever had a conversation with a 3year old? I turned this on a few minutes after having a conversation with my 3 year old while she was in the bathroom. It went like this: "mommy I've never seen a pink hamster, but we can touch baby hamsters but we can't touch unicorn hooves. Only doctors can touch unicorn hooves. But we can pet a baby lion right?" So in case anyone needs to known how rational a conversation with a 3 year old is...it's about this rational. 🤣

When my child was a toddler he wanted to eat cookies for every meal. Since we had a deep conversation about health and wellness he understands what can happen and has still decided f it he wants cookies. Of course i said yes because he was informed and was able to consciously make that decision for himself. Props to me for my gentle parenting 🙌

I’ve been waiting for you to cover her, I started off thinking their page was kinda cute but once she started disclosing her children’s medical info, and then started doing these sketches with the kids, ya know treating them the exact opposite of the way she’s teaching people to treat their children, it was super uncomfortable. It really doesn’t matter how smart a 3 year old is, or what the behind the scenes footage shows, it’s got to be a little confusing for a kid to go from being spoken to kindly to being yelled at just for a bit on tiktok.

My daughter is 7, and she's upset with me because I won't let her have social media, especially Tiktok and RU-vid. I told her it's because 1) children can not consent. 2) there are extremely scary people out there, and it's already not safe in the world without her face being exposed and plastered on several platform's. We have family who have their children all over social media, *tiktok, and RU-vid*, and it scares me. The one family member has pictures of their child from birth to now, she (the child) is 5. This Facebook is public. Her (the 5 year old) tiktok is her first and last name. Family has cut me off for telling them how dangerous this is, and how they're exploiting her.

I imagine they will be giving back all the $ that they have earned due to law suits. So sad what people will do for the all mighty dollar! I was a teen mommy blogger on Tumblr & blogspot in 2010-2012ish. I gained 1,000 followers within my 1st year. It all seemed innocent and fun. I loved looking at my engagement and interacting with fellow young moms or young girls who were curious. Now I see it for what it all was. I pray those young girls never followed in my foot steps because my story and outcome aren’t the norm. However I’ll never forget the day my world of “this is all fun” was shattered and the reality of my choices reared it’s ugly head. I posted of photo of my son who was somewhere between 3-5 months old (can’t remember as it’s been 10 years) & among all the likes and comments was a reblog…. This person who reblogged it had put a comment on it so disturbing that it was obviously a pedo. I clicked on the blog and was sick to my stomach to find this was a blog using photos people posted of their children to say sick and depraved things. I never thought it would happen to me… it did and there was no recourse for this sick individual. I’ve wiped social media of my children. I post the occasional family photo to my socials that aren’t accessible for strangers however I normally block out their faces with stickers. The sad thing is for me is that no doubt these moms KNOW what’s being done with their content that has their children but the paycheck and “popularity” are worth it to them. Thank you Josh for speaking up loud and proud about this.

I know there was an ad for some clothing company that sold kid's clothing I didn't agree with and I made a comment I'd never dress my daughter in stuff like that too many pedos. I got tons of replies that pedos are everywhere and we shouldn't let that control our clothing choices for our kids. It coulda been pedos posing as Moms or the company but it also might have been real Moms. Crazy. I still wouldn't dress my kid like a mini adult or let her wear make-up until she's like 15. To each their own but it's like don't cry to me when some sicko is posting photos of your daughter online.

Social media is a great place to connect with people and I totally understand parents wanting to share a moment or two of their child's life with the world. But but when they begin to monetize these moments, a line is definitely being crossed

I think she teaches well about how to take care about your children and she is very inspirational, but I agree that she is taking it too far. She is definitely exploiting them, and she should let them just be kids, not social media stars. We all know what social media does to people, specially young kids. I definitely want to be a mother like her overall, but I wouldn't exploit my toddlers like that.

Yes!! If you ask a kid if they want candy for dinner they’ll most likely say yes because candy tastes good, but they don’t understand that it’s unhealthy. You can tell them all you want that it’ll rot their teeth but they won’t care. At the end of the day it’s your job as a parent to make the right decision for them and make them eat a full meal instead of the candy

I’m only 17 minutes into this video and I can’t help but have a couple thoughts. My son just turned 4. I could ask him for “consent” to post photos of him… and he would probably agree or sometimes even say no. But he still doesn’t understand what any of it truly means. Beyond that, a child SHOULDN’T have to police their privacy. It’s not up to a child to have to set boundaries for themselves when it comes to their privacy and internet life. It’s unfair that these parents are even putting them in these positions. I can’t imagine my son playing with his toys and I come in to interrupt and ask him, “can mommy post this video of you having a bad day?” These people absolutely live in narcissism and delusion.

She says her son knows it’s just acting but i see it as traumatizing. And she gets so many comments of “carter is such a good actor!” It’s really messed up

When I first started watching RU-vid years ago I love watching family vlogs and then something sparked in my mind and I started having these thoughts of how are these children consenting to these videos? How are these kids regulated during the day? How many hours a day are these children filming Vlogs constantly? I really do agree with the awareness you’re putting out for the children. Thank you.

I thought as a society we had at LEAST established that CHILDREN CANNOT CONSENT. Who cares if a toddler says “yes you can post that!” They don’t have the mental capacity to be able to give that consent… Not to even broach the subject of people who aren’t licensed professionals labeling themselves coaches and consultants on the internet and doling out advice when they need serious therapy themselves. Yikes.

LauraLive tried her hand at making RU-vid videos in the beauty community a few years ago. She wasn't successful. Unfortunately, her children came along at the same time Tiktok was on the rise. The timing collided for her and the perfect storm of child exploitation was an opportunity to line her pockets. So sad.

Psychology student here. You are absolutely right in saying that a toddler does not have the capacity to understand anything she's talking about, and if she gave a crap about the subjects she's claiming to teach, she would know this too. I think it would be awesome if you could bring on a psychologist to talk about these things in more detail, or even react to videos that demonstrate this! Look up Piaget's mountain experiment on RU-vid and you will see that young children do not have the cognitive capabilities to take on the perspectives of others, which is why her argument is bullshit. 💁‍♀️

That uploaded before I subscribed so I watched it this morning and the psychologist spoke very broadly because he didn't know the situation. He basically said we won't know the outcomes on kids until later.

This is ridiculous. I work with children everyday. She is absolutely lying about what her child is doing and understanding. She is living in her own reality. She wants to help people but who gave her the authority to be that person? Does she have a degree in child development? She isn't as cool or as great as she thinks she is and I can guarantee her husband knows that. Im sure her children and husband get the real her and it sucks!

She literally says in a video she reads books by Montessori (Montessori method for parenting). OMG read a book and became an expert on the topic? Didn't know that's how it worked. The videos where Carter says he doesn't want to cook is used as a video. Um... he said no and video still uploaded. Exploitation! If she didn't yell at her children, then the 3 year old would not have YELLED at the 1 year old for breaking the coffee pot. Montessori method out the window... and don't forget the shirt that came right after that! Getting a job must be too hard because most are unemployed that exploit their children. Tax credit isn't enough... grab the tik tok money, donations, and Amazon wish list gifts while you're at it. Smh.

You’re really opening my eyes to exploitation!!! I have in the past but I have no socials currently and my almost teenage boys are not allowed any social media either. The internet is a dangerous place. My eldest son has autism and I especially do not want any photos or details of him online. I do not agree with family vloggers, it infuriates me how much they get paid also.
