I am German, both my grandmothers and their sisters lived through WWII (my paternal grandma even through WWI!), they are all long gone but they would sometimes talk about the horrific things they'd seen and endured, and you could tell it still affected them 70 years later. Stories about going without food for days, sleeping fully clothed and with shoes on to be able to sprint to the nearest bomb shelter every night and emerging from said shelters in the morning to find the bodies of your neighbors outside, leaving everything behind to flee on foot through half of Germany - my heavily pregnant great grandmother with five kids - and live in a tiny room with no heating for two years (all 7 of them!) to come back and find their home destroyed, having to do hard physical labor as teenagers to earn some food etc. Plus in the Eastern part of Germany, the revenge rapes of German women committed by the Soviets were insanely common - luckily my family wasn't affected by that as they lived in the West. Women suffered horribly in wars as well and for him to completely dismiss that "just to make a point" is absolutely appaling and disgusting. I guess it's also a very "American" POV, as they haven't had an armed conflict on their own soil in forever. Yeah, the women were safe and sound in the US when their men went to WWII, Vietnam or Afghanistan, but that sure doesnt apply to any woman in a warzone...

I feel like everyone on this show is super insecure. Like, I don't know why everyone wants to go clubbing all the time. It's like everyone wants a back up plan and no one even questions the idea that someone could be loyal. My older brother has done a lot of online dating, and I remember him talking about how much it bothered him that it felt like he always had to carry the conversations with the girls who messaged him. They're the type of men who love to accuse dead soldiers as ' weaklings' or 'cowards' 2017-2020 internet was insane for treating dead soldiers like that, I've so many post of them bad mouthing soldiers who didn't make it and only praise the soldiers who are alive despite those praised soldiers having survivors guilt and are grieving for their dead soldiers they made fun of.

The oppression olymics once again..the majority vs. minority is all they care about; who has it worse? & whoever has it worse is automatically the victor like, what? Plus they act as if the last draft wasn't in 1973 so, who are all these men they speak of who have apparently been drafted in the last 50 years or so !?? 😂

Exactly. War is horrific, for those who live through it. But the way it keeps being brought up by guys who have not been in it is ridiculous. Do they want sympathy because of what OTHER men endured?

It’s like they think that because other people of there gender endured suffering that they deserve some of the sympathy for that.

​@@Epic-so3ek War veterans deserve all respect. But some of these men on podcasts talk as if they have been through that, and THEY as men deserve respect, when their generation hasnt been close to any war whatsoever, while casually dismissing other issues people face nowadays.

Yeah also as a Veteran...not to be that guy, but various wars also involved the raping and massacre of civilian populace, specifically women and children. So id say that is equally just as bad as going to war.

and it's not like women don't suffer in war- they're just not as represented in the fiction that these guys are obsessed with, which, by the way, glorifies it, which is exactly what you shouldn't do if the suffering of men in war is something you care about

same honestly. It's stupid to control someone because you're insecure and have trust issues. I personally don't go to clubs or bars, and I'd rather seek a partner who shares similar values to mine

To be fair the chicks that go to clubs are often pretty trashy. The club scene is awful and I have never met a woman that goes to clubs that are genuinely good people. (Or men for that matter). I quit that a while ago.
