I love seeing your engine building videos! You do such an incredibly thorough job of building them and explaining the process! In fact I love all your videos!
That is actually not a forged piston according to E carbs it is closer to a weisco then a stock piston but it is somewhere in the middle. Go powersports is bad about miss advertising E carbs designed the new tillitson reinforced block. I loved when you put that oil cooler on that 420. I am putting one on my 460 once I figure out what I am going to use as a quality pump (probably a pulse pump) then my return line will go to a Y then one in the valve cover and the other down the governor hole . Once my system is reliable I am going to eliminate the diper .
Ummmm,I'm tellinggg. You forgot to put 'valve seating compound'on the shaft and twisting the flywheel until it gets a full seating. Then you've cleaned that off and installed the key,and bolted the starting cup,etc.on.If I hadn't seen you do it,I'd have had no clue that it was needed. Thanks for all the hard work you guys do for us.
Hello I have a 212 predator non hemi engine. I have misplaced or lost the head and side cover dowel pins. Do you know where I can get them? Like a website maybe? Also are all other predator engines dowel pins the same? I know the head and side cover pins are different. Thank you so much Misti
We are running the 225 rs in the caged clone class and have heard different specs for cylinder head torques between 27 to 24 We have been having some issues with head gasket and head warpage at the exhaust side.Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you
For those wondering the u build it kit doesn't come with all that. Looking at the website its 500 for the block. 100 for the billet flywheel. 550 for the u build it and assembly kit. 200 for the carb. You'd still need 80 for an exhaust. 60 to 90 for the fuel tank. And 175 for the 30 series juggernaut converter kit. So about $1700 for the engine build plus a lil extra for all the odds and ends. About $1400 is you dont need the tank, tav and exhaust.
Could you guys do a video on the razor electric dune buggy a couple people have put 3000w motors and get 35 40mph but there's no videos showing how. Some people have even put 212 motors it would be nice to see what crazy thing you can make from it
@@RedBeardsGarage or better yet razor has pocket mods you can upgrade to 1000w motors but razor not to long ago came out with the bellezza model its quite a bit bigger with actually bike size tires upgrade to some knobby tires, and from what I can see you might be able to get a 3000w motor in it there is not one single video on this scooter AAAAHHHHHHHH??????
Hello , really enjoy your video content .. Is this the 225rs ? I'm looking at the rs long block . Wondering if the DC PVL flywheel will work with this engine . I've got it on a predator 224 now . Its the aluminum , unpolished , with a steel core flywheel . Reached out to GPS , didn't have much luck . Thanks
Why haven't you responded to the question about power comparison between this engine and the 225rs? I'm very curious as if there's a significant difference. Thanks RB!
anybody have a source for the Tillotson heat shield that goes on the head?...I'm looking for the one made specifically to fit on a Tillotson Racing crankcase...I'm still looking for one!
I’ve seen a video where a guy Schaeffers the cylinder …. Basically grind a little bit off the edge of the cylinder. Says that it helps with insulation and so that it won’t detonate. I don’t know how true this is.
I build a Yamaha g16 with the 420 Predator Hemi model motor in it and I keep blowing Mufflers apart I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of Muffler to put on to it
Great build. I was able to score a MB200 from the local transfer station. Guy pulled up and was going to put it on the 'discarded metal' heap. I had him load it into the back of my truck instead. :) Was missing a bunch of stuff, but GoPowerSports was able to fix me up with all the missing parts. I live about 3 miles away from them in Fort Worth, so it was easy to get the parts quickly. I have a new 212 (Harbor freight special) on it now, but would like to put a little more power to the road. This looks like a great build to get it done. Keep up the good work. I love to watch your vids. They are instructional and fun. God bless your work.
Really like these style vids. You explain the build in a way anyone can understand. Your other content is great too but it is something about the close up's of the CNC billet parts. LOL
Hey man love the videos I'm in the mix of swapping out my 196 clone for a gx270 I've got the 1in driver but from what I've read there saying I don't need the bronze (brass) bushing for the shaft . I'm just confused if the 3/4 shaft uses it why doesn't a 1inch ? Should It be fine?
Great Video well done .. if I had a shop like that i would have a clean room to build engines in ,, lol i would still be doing what you are build them on a clean bench .. just repaired a riding mower other day would not crank over past compression .. valves way out of adjustment ,, push rods almost falling out loose .. adjusted starts great ,, also seen valve guides loosen in heads before and rocker studs work loose , seen a lot in over 40 years of working on them ,, roughly how long do you run a built engine before you change the oil ??
@@RedBeardsGarage did not know you used it for your office .. I seen the build shows .. you have done great work over the years ,, It took me 20 plus years living on a half acre lot to be able to get the new place I have. 30 acres with a home and 3 out buildings ,, a 2 car garage , 30 x 80 dome tent barn ,, then my shop witch is a 30 x 40 pole barn 10 ft walls .. no insolation yet started putting 2 x 4's for the steel ceiling . it all takes time .. don't remember what size your shop is but it looks to be 3 times bigger then your old garage ,, one thing i did get going is a dirt track in the field ,, for the grandkids and us adults . its a dust bowl if dry or nice and muddy if it rains , needs more work plus i want a ovel track too be able to get higher speeds ,, keep up the great videos love watching them ,,
Hey if you guys see this I have a build you can do that I'd personally love to see and I'd like to do soon. They sell a small diesel engine at general jims in clare MI for about 1100$ but it's not much bigger than a predator 420 and it has the same side shaft. I'd like to make a diesel mini bike that could potentially roll coal?
@@RedBeardsGarage get some shine in you, let er rip and do a proper voice over for those of us who actually have backyards and can understand what you’re saying
do you guys check the ring gap, or just throw these things together assuming the gap is correct? I just purchased the Tillotson Racing 72mm block, forged flat top piston, 2.165 crank, and the GPS 225/228 long billet con rod.. and want to know if I also need the tools to measure and adjust these things, or am I safe assuming they're right and will that heat shield for the head be available from GPS?...I was planning on cutting down a generic shield if I can't get a nicer one
