When I joined FB former classmates were trying to sell me stuff from their MLMs. $50 for a bar of soap (Irish spring forever, bitches!). They were heavily into this, selling their friends ‘franchises’ and going to the motivational conventions in Vegas or the Carribean. Most of them have stopped now but I wouldn’t be surprised if they still have a garage or a basement stuffed with unsold product. The most notorious one I’ve seen booths in malls here in Canada and the US. I’m pretty sure the booths are an immigration scheme. I pass them by but when they get confrontational just to sell me lotion or a nail polisher I tell them I have at least three Facebook friends trying to sell me the exact same shit if not trying to get me to buy a franchise.

Before I knew what this was I actually had a lady try to rope me into this. She found me cause I’m a personal trainer and I thought it was going to be a training job. By the end she told me I had to buy the product to get the job to which I replied, “ohhhh this is a pyramid scheme…”. There is no job in the world besides a pyramid scheme where you have to pay the company you’re trying to get employed by to get the job. Usually it works the other way around 🤣
