Tim Hardaway: BEFORE ALLEN IVERSON this “RUN TMC” Star PERFECTED the Killer Crossover | FPP

He’s one of the greatest little men to ever step on a basketball court, standing at 6 feet tall on a good day, Tim Hardaway was one of the most complete, yet underappreciated point guards of all time. with one of the most lethal crossovers, nicknamed the “UTEP Two-Step”, which he, along with Isiah Thomas helped originate years before guys like Allen Iverson, Kyrie Irving, Steph Curry or Steve Francis. He spent his college career with the UTEP Miners where he would improve every year. Then Don Nelson would make him a first round pick of the Golden State Warriors in the 1989 NBA Draft. Hardaway would immediately form a high octane trio with Chris Mullin and Mitch Richmond dubbed “RUN TMC”. Over the next 4 years, Hardaway would play at a historic level becoming one of just a few players to average 20+ Points and 10+ assists in a season, and he would do it multiple times. His time in Golden State was filled with injuries to himself and his teammates. He and Mullin would struggle to stay on the court and then as the Warriors brought in youth like Latrell Sprewell, Chris Webber and Joe Smith; Hardaway saw his role decrease. But a 1996 trade deadline move by Pat Riley would revive Hardaway’s career. He would team with Alonzo Mourning as the pioneers of “Heat Culture” and these two along with guys like Jamal Mashburn, Dan Majerle and Eddie Jones would turn Miami into an Eastern Conference Powerhouse; unfortunately this time is more remembered for these teams almost always coming up short against the New York Knicks in the postseason. After over a decade of high level basketball, he spent a couple years as a role player before ending his career in 2003. And even though he wasn’t able to win the ultimate prize, At his best, Tim Hardaway dominated a league of giants at a historic pace and likely embarrassed your favourite player with his Killer Crossover.

They should have kept Mitch Richmond, they definitely would have beaten supersonics in that 1992 first round and possibly went to the finals but, Portland was pretty good that year too so who knows!! You can only imagine how good they would have been if Tim would have never got injured when Webber got there as well as Don Nelson b.s. putting Webber in as a center and not power forward as well as them bumping head's all the time for Webb just to be sent to the bullets team the following year, that's the problem coaches shouldn't have that luxury to be G.M at the same time because if there's something they don't like as a coach they can get rid of you as a manager, plus with spreewell doing his thing and if millun and marciulions didn't go down early that year they definitely would have been good 93-96 season to make a strong run
