I have a somewhat similar memory to his, well, to a certain extent. My memories definitely vary in size and vividness, unlike Tim's. But the older I get, the looser my exact estimates of dates become. It's typically something like, "Oh yeah, that happened around the middle of July in 2022" or something like that. Or like how I remember going on vacation the week before the Nintendo 3DS came out, because it came out on March 27, 2011, but I had to wait until the following Wednesday, I believe, to get my preordered one in the mail. If I can tie an event down to some other event around the same time (like the vacation with the 3DS's release date, because I was really looking forward to it), then I can recall it much more easily. My family and friends are amazed at this, but it leaves me somewhat spending perhaps too much time in the past, because I'm attached to it more strongly than is probably healthy. Watching Tim make me think, "Is this what it's like listening to me talk?!" I love it.

Reading this made me think 'Is this what it's like listening to me talk?!" I've been like this since.. Idk since as far as my memory goes. I remember every thing in crystal clear details, and can derive time by doing the exact same thing. "Oh, I started talking with my girlfriend around last July I think because I met her beacuse of a friend and when that friend told me about her we ate lunch at this exact place and that week I went to that place two times and and and" and It goes on and on till I get the exact date. This feels both like a blessing and a curse. I remember EVERYTHING, even if I don't want to. And this causes me to be nostalgic and emotional about past things more than I want to.

If you think about it, this is the only way you know you have memories.

Sounds like H-SAM (Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory) but I've never heard Tim refer to it as that.

a little bit, but not really. Likely does have a better than average memory (brain really does function a bit abnormally), and is extremely practiced in the act of remembering because of something like OCD causing him to constantly pour over memories, which in turn also 'strengthens' the memories he revisits. From what we know, he is just as vulnerable to forgetting and creating false memories as anyone else, though

1:36 The correct wording is "By accident," I hope you remember this correction forever, doorknob.

ok hold on a second, let's not jump to conclusions. i personally think that "through accident" is even cooler than "by accident"
