I feel you on the work thing. I live in the north and do large scale construction. My entire summer in spent getting projects out of the ground so the trades can work the winter. Riding time and my “club” time is limited.

I think you're making a wise decision. My talking head videos in my garage perform better than my motovlogs. That said, I'm doing kind of a hybrid motovlog where I share screenshots on the topic of discussion. Keep up the great work. Folks are here to see Big Smitty. Eric

Nothing wrong with doing things for you and the family. When the weather cools of then maybe that full face helmet will be a better fit for you. I say whatever works for you. What was the name of that resort you stayed at in Austin? I am retired and relaxing and having fun is my thing.

Change is good. I hear you on the rides. I will only break out a camera to record a topic or location. 95% of the time cameras are in the tour pack. I wore my 1/2 shell the other day and I felt naked 😂…funny cause I’ve only been wearing full face for a couple years.

I ride without a helmet a lot, I spent 20 years wearing a skid lid, I am trying to get use to wearing a helmet more often but it is a struggle especially when it is really hot. I do a lot of talking head videos for same reason, it was taking enjoyment away from my rides.

Frankly I enjoy the garage videos as much or more than the riding ones. You're less distracted and funnier there. And I always enjoy Mrs. Smitty Hiding's bit parts in the intros! Please be careful with that skid lid. Don't wanna see that pretty face messed up. But I can well appreciate wanting to reduce protective gear in this heat. Sometimes I go out for a mere hour with my modular helmet, jeans and riding jacket, and I come home roasting. It's not even enjoyable. The dealer that sold me my CTX up in Baltimore sent their weekly newsletter and showed a used low mileage 2020 base GW like yours for about $20K. Man... But I have to watch my pennies for a few years. And I love my Valk. So I'm good for a while. I'm in the process of buying new tires for the first time, and as you well know, it's a challenge on this bike. I spoke with Revzilla a couple days ago, ended up buying a set of Michelin Scorchers with a nice rebate, only to discover after placing the order that the tires say "Harley Davidson" on the sidewalls! WTF! I'm not having that. So I'm back to the drawing board. I'll be returning those. I can't believe they sold me tires with an HD logo. And now the guys at Revzilla don't seem to want to talk to me anymore. The guy I first spoke with and sold them to me was patient and took his time, but the 2nd guy was in a big hurry the minute he picked up the phone, and I wasn't about to make an important decision like this under pressure. I asked the first guy to call me back, and he emailed me with an order cancellation request. I then asked him to CALL me, which he didn't do. Service sucks anymore. I'm kind of looking at a set of Pirellis or Avon Cobra Chrome. I just don't know what to do. I don't know what 13 and 1 or 12 and 2 means, but it sounds like your coming several months will be pretty unenjoyable. When all you do is work for days on end, it feels like you have no life and exist as a cog in a machine. I've been there many times. It's miserable. And puts a lot of stress on you and your family. It doesn't matter to me if you wear a helmet or not !!! It's your choice and if you want to wear a half helmet then wear it and I personally hate full face helmets and I like half helmets better. Rides for yourself... I hear that. It's too easy to get sucked into every ride having something to do with a possible video. It's nice to ride with no connection to that. Hair cut? I better go adjust my ponytail....
