ASMAX for the win, so many companies make these and look like satellite dish's on their helmet. That X looks sharp. Exited to hear how it is on the road, congratz on again on the product my friend!
Im 55 years old and just recently was able to buy a bike after a lifetime of dreaming about it. Although I dont think the M.C. lifestyle is for me, I have a Hell of a lot of respect for you guys. Great video and thank you!
I really liked your unboxing video Smitty, haha, it was so genuine! Looking forward to your upcoming riding test😉. By the way, it looks like a great device, thanks!
Thank you for the kind words! It’s been working out pretty well. The sound and functionality is pretty impressive. But only more miles and time will be a true test. Thanks again for the support and for the comment.
Hahaha, The kiddos always seem to want to check on me when I'm recording. All the other times they will leave me for dead. I was so impress with the device and packaging. They really brought the a game, and came out swinging. I didn't see TweedleD's video until I scheduled my video to go out. He did a great install and got to use mesh. Good Video. Looks like I did get a different unit than you guys. :)
Your video was damn good too. I enjoyed it. I like this thing so far. Easy to use and pretty simple to set up. Those damn kids are always trying to get into my shot! Thanks for watching my friend!
I’m looking forward to seeing how it holds up. So far it’s doing pretty well. I had a SENA and it died after about a year or so. Thanks for watching my friend.
I purchased a similar device about a year ago, and I do not use it, because the speakers were pushing on my ears to much. Of course it was my fault, because I did not check if my helmet had speaker areas. Mine basically has an area for my ears, and not much room for anything else. I did however go to a Cycle Gear, to try on a few helmets. I may end up with one that has Bluetooth already built in. By the time I need to upgrade the helmet, I am sure there will be better Bluetooth versions at that time. Looking forward to the first reactions, on how well it performs in the city, highway, the rain, and whatever else.
That’s what Truckin Biker did. Bought a helmet with built in Bluetooth. His is working pretty well thus far. I’ve put about 200 miles on it this far and it’s working well. Still a ways to go and many miles before I can say it’s a quality piece or not. Thanks for watching Paul.
Well,my recommendation is to go where clubs are and see which ones are in your area. Then decide what type of club you want to be in and go from there. The internet can be useful but it can also be a dark hole for bullshit. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Smitty, you KNOW you're hitting the big time when a man-a-fak-shurer sends you free stuff to test and report on! Woohoo! 3M must be making a fortune on mounts. They seem to have a lock with virtually every mount manufacturer. I've never seen one that used a sticky tape that wasn't 3M. When I bought my comm system (a Cardo), I had the dealer install it. Because anytime I try to pry stuff apart, I can't figure out how to get it back together. Took them about 10 minutes. I bought it at the urging of a friend of mine who wanted a way to communicate when we rode together, but unfortunately he died not long after and I never got to test it with him. Now, nobody I ride with wants to use one. The boom mic on mine is somewhat obtrusive. It gets in the way when I'm trying to put the helmet on and remove it. And it's always getting yanked out of its mount and I have fits trying to get it put back in (hate when that happens). The buttons on my unit are all unmarked, and there's no indication of what they do. I find I use it so little that each time I do, I have to go back to the owners manual. It's certainly not intuitive. I noticed powering yours on required two buttons, which I think is nuts. What other device requires pushing two buttons to start up? Do you notice the unit is coffin-shaped? Just an observation I made. I now have more tech on my helmet than I'd really prefer. I have the Cardo, the Brake Free brake light, and the GoPro setup. I kind of miss just throwing on my helmet and going. Now I have to make sure all the units are powered up, working and what not. And as you know, once the caravan starts rolling, you don't have a lot of time to be pushing buttons. Most of the time I'm lucky if I remember to fasten my chin strap and lower the sun visor. Frankly, the only companies I ever heard of that made these systems were Cardo and Sena. I had never heard of ASMAX. I'll be anxious to hear the sound quality and reliability results once you've tested it with other riders and your phone. Good job! Tongue click and fingers pointed back atcha!
Man my friend there’s so many systems out there it ain’t even funny! Cardo makes a great system for a very reasonable price. I had a SENA unit that broke last year and I never replaced it. So this came along just in time. This unit is pretty easy to use and thus far has worked very well. Time will tell! Imagine that, your old buddy Smitty getting free stuff! Better watch out, the world may come to an end! Thanks for your continued support my friend! Ride safe!
Tweedle helped me out big time on this video. He did a great one! Hopefully I’ll make it up there and we can test it out on a ride! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the kind words and for watching! Corbin seats are amazing seats. One of the best in my opinion. The Valkyrie is one of my favorite bikes of all time.
@BigSmittyRiding I purchased a brand new 2014 Valkyrie from our Honda dealer in 2018 for $13k out the door. Power wise, it was as quick as my VMAX but handled like a dream and was smooth as silk. I sold it a few years later, and now I wished I would have kept it. I just purchased a 2023 BMW R18 brand new for 18k out the door. This will be another misunderstood motorcycle. I love the art deco design and heritage this bike has. I just ordered my Corbin last week. We went to the location in Hollister, and my wife met Mike Corbin. He is a beautiful human. His employees just love him.
@honestlion17 that’s so awesome! I sold my Valkyrie as well and bought the Goldwing. I’ve heard nothing but good things about him and how he treats his employees. Good stuff!
Respect. You give respect you get respect. You disrespect you get disrespect. I've been riding independent for 42 years. No problems, no drama, no worries.
The Sound Look And Feel Of A Harley... Road Glide, Road King, Street Glide Is Amazing... The Sound Look Feel And Character Of A Hog Is What Draws Millions To The Brand... The Honda Goldwing Is Superb Engineering.... It's So Superb That It Lacks Personality And Character... Sort Of Dull, With A Bar-Stool Like Seating Position... The Road Glide Has A More Aggressive Stance, I'm More Comfortable On The Road Glide.
I agree, HD has done a great job of making their bikes look, feel and sound a certain way that has become iconic. Between that, their dealership network, parts/accessories and apparel, they have the market cornered. The Wing lacks sound and soul. I completely admit that. But for me it runs way smoother, much more powerful and handles miles better than any HD touring bike stock with zero mods. I will eventually own another HD but I’ll keep the Wing. It’s just too smooth in my opinion. Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
Lol. Buncha overweight meat crayons crying about another motorcycle rider passing them so they can get to work on time. The epitome of damanding respect. Lol
Man glad to hear everyone made it home at some point, it could always be worst. No way to predict something like that, the risk we all take when riding. That OG Gold Wing is the exactly what I always picture, yours's looks like Corvette compared to it 💪
Thank you for watching my friend! Yeah man, it was a crappy set of circumstances but we made the best of it and he’s doing way better than we expected. Thanks for the support my friend!
