Time To Hide have Paul a chance to be a supporting band member instead of the front man, and he takes full advantage of it by crafting a great bass line for this fine song. To me, this song and Beware My Love are the highlights of a fairly dismal album.
RIP Denny. I’m just a teen, and when I was just getting into good music a few years ago, this was one of my favorite concerts. I always loved you singing this song too, and I still do. Fly high, man.
Live version of Time to Hide features one of the best guitar solos ever. Short but sweet. I never grow tired of watching Jimmy McCulloch play. It's a shame he died so young.
William Werch absolutely. This song is blah on the studio album. Poorly produced . Idk. But live? It’s ridiculous how good it is. And how talented Denny Laine was with Paul . Jimmy McCulloch shows off his youthful brilliance on guitar. Medicine Jar such an awesome track he wrote.
@Bigbradwolf And I got it in the absolute demise of the vinyl days, mid '90s, for like 5 bucks, slightly worn cover, because of the store maybe having had it on display for years, but unplayed. Happy owner of it to this day, even if I haven't played it for almost a couple of decades bc. of not having a proper turntable to play it on anymore.
Old MacFartney is the famous Beatles guy but yes at least 2 of the top 5 Wings tunes are by McCulloch and Laine. I think Macca's best was Junior's Farm.

RIP Denny Laine....English musician, singer & songwriter who is best known as a founder of 2 major rock bands....The MOODY BLUES whom he played with from 1964-1966 & WINGS with Paul McCartney who he played with from 1971-1981....Denny was the lead singer on "Go Now" one of the Moody Blues earlier hits & was a major contributor on many of WINGS hit albums including "Band on the Run", "Venus & Mars" & "London Town"....Denny Laine was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Moody Blues in 2018.
Not really. He knew Denny from way back in the 1960s when Paul was a Beatle and Denny was a Moody Blues. Jimmy had been lead with Thunderclap and was already well known and highly thought of in the UK scene. Jimmy toured with John Mayall when he was only about 18. Paul didn't just 'pick them up'.
Just think ten years earlier on how Music was different studio wise, equipment, concert, stage and talent wise. These guys were part of it and made it happen.
Epic killer rendition of this Denny Laine Rock`n`Roll Wings classic........... Apart from being a incredible multi instrumentalist, great vocalist and a strong songwriter he was also Pauls musical playmate and freind through the hole Wings history........Surely missed but your music lingers on, RIP dear Denny.......
Incredible bass player along with everything else musical...and he had that band workin long and hard to be so tight and the very talented pros they all became

And your vocals on the note you never wrote are superb you definitely conquered America in the British Invasion
Wow. Delaney is talented and energetic performer. Nice that Paul gives them the spotlight and sings harmony. Very humble of him. Paul’s a great man and musician with a great band he put together

"Get your tamobine going/Some guitar". I love the opening spoken word frm the "Wings Over America" album. Although I was born a year after this tour, I love listening to that live CD. Plus the concert film was avialbe on Tubi. Not sure if it's still on that service.

Attitude. Not just musical ability is what made, and continues to make, Paul McCartney the greatest musical showman ever! You can see him cheerleading Denny here. He knows Denny laid down a great lyric. So he surrounds it with an incredible powerful, sexy, thumping bass line. He gives a little whoop at the beginning, whispers in his ear, gives a stunning performance as a backing vocalist. This combined with the driving insistent drumming of English, and the complimentary lead guitar riff of Jimmy, and the soulful blues harmonica of Denny (you can almost hear the sinners begging for forgiveness on Sunday) add up to an overpowering sense of urgency. And then Paul's touch at the end. That's the Alpha Male doing what every Alpha Male must do for his troop: give out credit and kudos immediately and fulsomely. Sir Paul, how lucky we are to live during his era.

@@dennylaine8735 Oh I go way back. I saw Wings over America on the television and was just blown away by your performance. Absolutely electric! It was probably around 1978 or so. By the way this is unreal. Thank you for responding to my comment. Your version of "Richard Cory" is outstanding and the song you co-wrote "Mull of Kintyre" is a dream. Thank you for this beautiful music that has lasted me a lifetime.

Paul ripping that bass line while Denny was ripped but nailed it. It must be difficult to sing your biggest song alongside (while high too) mega star Paul McCartney standing next to you performing backup vocals while you are the lead frontman for a few minutes especially knowing how Paul runs a tight ship and expects 110% from every band member. Denny looked nervous as though he knew he was being critiqued by Paul. Digging Denny's coke cutter necklace. Us hippies from the 70s wore stuff like that.
