Cool games! Sorry you didn't get past top 4. Really liking the explanation of the evolving deck. Thanks!

Me and a buddy are running this build in Bo1 and we both came to the same conclusion that we didn't need Brushland. He went the Lair of the Hydra route but i went Westvale. Def has saved me a few times!

Nice yeah Westvale Abbey has felt like a really big addition and has already won me quite a few games I wouldn't be able to otherwise.

Thanks for this. I've been playing My Darn Hobby/Peter's Abzan Winota deck. It's felt really well positioned right now.

No worries! Ah nice yeah I've seen that one but not gotten round to trying it yet, it looks sweet. I've also been meaning to try Elorim's version with Huntmaster.

what is your opinion on the version running Karn?

Thanx for this amazing Deck. But why running six fetchlands and only four fechable Forests?
@mtgazonecom
@mtgazonecom 6 месяцев назад
No worries! You can afford to run more fetchlands then fetchables since the chances of you drawing and cracking more than four in a single game is really low. In this specific deck fetchlands are very valuable because they provide you with 6 additional ways to find basics vs Blood Moon, find white sources for Get Lost (and find Gate to Manorborn to provide some utility if you're out of gas), whilst still predominantly running 1 of lands so Field of the Dead comes online as early as possible. Without as many fetchlands if you wanted to maximize your chances of finding a basic to play around Blood Moon or a white source for Get Lost you'd have to run either more Forest, Snow-Covered Forest, or Temple Garden which would increase your chances of drawing multiples of the same land and delaying Field coming online. Hope that makes sense!

Do you always grab Castle over cave? I was thinking cave over castle because it always comes into play tapped whereas castle Might come into play untapped.

Round 2 against mirror, why not cast titan of industry to give primeval titan shield counter to keep it through attacks? Niiiiice, Game 3, waiting to cast once upon a time, I gained XP!

Small question: in G2 vs Grixis Wizards, why didnt you veil of summer on that flame of anor?
@mtgazonecom
@mtgazonecom 6 месяцев назад
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe preventing the 5 damage also prevents the draw two so it would only be used to protect the Grazer and draw a card there. I think holding onto in case I draw a Natural Order or Titan so I can force either through a Counterspell seems like it'd be more of a winning line which is the main reason I held it there.
@khalni
@khalni 6 месяцев назад
@@mtgazonecom Would need to try that, i played Flame of Anor for a long time but don't remember a situation like this. Even if that was the case, you are probably right anyway.

@@mtgazonecom you are right. it is basically two triggers and won´t prevent the card draw.

I’ve noticed that you very rarely side out lands, for example Cavern against no counters or Bojuka in the mirror. Why?
@tofu585
@tofu585 6 месяцев назад
he still needs lands to play for mana and field consistency.
@Yreth90
@Yreth90 6 месяцев назад
I think this answer is a bit too simple. And we are not talking about more than 1-2 lands in certain situations. It also depends if one is on the play or on the draw, etc. I've seen Arne doing it for example when he tried out the deck.
@mtgazonecom

This list needs a really high land count to operate so missing land drops is a disaster, especially with 4 Grazer & 4 Kami, and you often need to draw a lot of lands for your curve to work eg. T1 Grazer/ Kami trying to set up turn 4 Primeval Titan off Castle Garenbrig which requires you to draw 5 lands before turn 4, which usually requires 32+ lands to do consistently. The list only runs 28 actual lands but OuaT, Scrying, & Ent obviously help finding lands too, but drawing those in multiples and needing to use them to keep hitting land drops often limits your ability to curve out other important cards like Fierce Empath & Primeval Titan, which is why I always trim cards like OuaT and Sylvan Scrying instead of actual lands. Hope that makes sense!

As a modern izzet murktide player, it kind of shocks my how bad people play with bauble and are not using it to its full potential. Like using bauble on their turn on their opp with a fetch land in hand and without a t1 play, or using bauble on their turn while tapping out against opps with thoughtseize etc.
