Please read about the New Mexico Governor banning the 2-A under a public health ordinance. Please make a video about this. Struggle is coming, love your content!
Thanks for the tip of putting the damper piece on the second pipe. Everything I had seen till now had it as the first pipe. But your idea makes far more sense. Thanks
That's an outstanding-looking lightweight stove. The cast iron have charm, but the packable nature of that makes it a competitor... and the 3 glass windows is a big win.
One thing I really like about the design: If you ever had to or wanted to take this on a particularly rough trip, you can remove the glass and leave it behind and easily put some metal panels in their place. You could also just store them in a more protected way in between some canvass or whatever you wanted to do, then transport this however you need. Wrapped with rope dragging behind a team of sled dogs if you had to or rattling around in the bed of the truck and it would be fine. No need to treat the entire thing as delicate cargo. The glass can get extra care and the rest can go in the back with the more robust stuff.
Winnerwell and Pomoly both make great stoves cant go wrong either way. Pomoly has a solid single person stove in 304 stainless for about 250$ for guys on a tighter budget. It only has a front viewing window but...Its cheaper.
This seems perfect to include in a camp kit with a chuck box. For family outings, father-son camp-outs or “scout-like” activities. (Since we all know the Boy Scouts are over and done with). Thanks for showing us this stove, Cody!
perfect for camp kit? where are you camping? edited: have you ever been camping? as camping, not by going there with RV and start a fire? :D American camping ftw!
@@janihiltunen2740 Never heard of a base camp? A chuck box? At first I thought you were just rude, now I’m guessing you’re just “challenged”…or European.
@@janihiltunen2740yeah. It's called travelling by canoe for 3 weeks in the fall down the Mackenzie river when it can drop to just about 5°F (-15°C) and with your mossberg 500 for the grizzlies. What do you call camping? Hiking 2 hours with your 1000$ North Face 3 man tent and your worst fear is a blister, staying overnight and packing up because it might rain?
I do appreciate the heads up about the Made in China. Thanks. I've been thinking about getting one to put in my fireplace at home. Seems like a good back up for emergency cooking and more effective heating of that part of the house in the winter.
I agree with the wood stove thing. If you have a large one cool, but I also encourage a portable one like the one he is showing. You can build your own by watching RU-vid videos for those struggling with money. Even if you can’t use it where you are at, maybe at some point in a shtf situation you can barter with it for location where you can use it or whatever. I also encourage a pellet attachment that is gravity fed. You never know, if you come upon a bunch of pellets in your travels during those times. Much longer burn with a large hopper and a gravity feed. I have a vintage military issued one that’s round and can be powered by wood diesel all kinds of stuff. It’s kind of large though to be super portable.
I love my winnerwell woodlander medium stove, high quality for sure. I use the white duck 10ft bell tent. Makes for a good deer hunting tent for them cold mid november Michigan hunts.
Props for recognising quality and even recommending it even though it’s Chinese made. I reckon it’s a US company with high specs for the Chinese factory, much like how Apple products are “high” quality but Chinese made, there is some good stuff that comes from there when it’s made with high specs from US brands.
Funny i have been having you pop up here and there, i was looking for a good saw and saw a review for the samurai saw, but didn’t use it in the video… i was looking at stoves and was going to choose this one, you have good taste i hope if we ever meet it in good times. God bless.
Trying to find a stove myself and so far this one seems better than any of the American/Canadian ones I have seen. Going to try looking at some European manufactures before I make up my mind.
The glass also allows for far far far more radiant heat. a lot of people think it’s just for looks but I can tell you that the heat that comes through that window compared to a steel is immensely higher.
Love the straight up honest advise We are not in for an upcoming struggle We are in for the payoff of decades of economic theft, moral ignorance, family leadership neglect and encouragement to the derailment of moral values and dishonesty of elected leadership. Self reliance is replaced by self satisfaction It’s a shite storm we are in for Love your video sets Thank you
I have the exact same one. Wish it was more air tight to damper down but cant with the removable circular opening in the top. Used in -7 temps winter camping in the BWCA!
I have a 10x10 Panther Primitive pyramid tent and I need to find a smaller wood burner like this for that tent. Thanks for sharing this review. I would love to see your solution for a cot or what type of beds your planning to use.
the spark arrester feature is amazing, worked for a cheap outfitter in raggeds wilderness and almost died one night, when ash clogged the, to short chimney(he forgot the extra pieces) with a flat piece of screen, i'm only one in tent at night, woke up to smoke filling entire tent to my sleeping nose, thank the gods im a light sleeper, there was 5 inches of snow on ground but dude insisted on that stupid screen, this spark arrester has been designed by someone has experianced that same thing, more surface area less clogging
Any Aussies on here using one of these, I have been dragging an OzPig about and a lighter alternative would be nice? The pig with the parts seems to be well on the way to 30kg.
Really disappointed with getting away from the live streams. I remember when Fridays were for momma kitty and scripture. Times change. Here we are carrying on about a wood heater for a week. I am still here, holding on ! 😊
It depends on how you maintain it to be honest. Stainless steel is rust resistant not rust proof. I would advise buying a roll of door gasket because I've never seen a camp stove like these that don't warp.
