My center guide has no screws that I can remove. Although there seems to be a screw at the base where the doors slide making it inaccessible for removal. How can I remove the glass panels in this setup?
My shower door is old and doesn't have a center guide. It has two grooves instead, one for each door. Is that type of shower door removable by simply lifting up and out?
Mine is the same way too. They silicones the middle of the track on the bottom. I was able to loosen the sides. And those are loose but can get the middle of the track to come off. I even used a crow bar!
Hi Amy, other than replacing the tile, you can use a mold and mildew-resistant silicone that matches the color of the tile as good as possible. Once the hole is filled, use a razor blade to smooth the top.
Word up….I removed my doors and under that railing bar, there was a city of fungi with swimming pools and cabanas! From the outside I never suspected anything like that was going on. 😡

Hi Debi, using a new utility knife with a sharp blade, cut away the silicone inside and out and pry it up with a 5 in 1 painter's tool, flathead screwdriver, or a putty knife. Once it is up, if there is silicone on the threshold, scrape as much off as you can, then use the fresh blade to cut the rest off.
can i install a bypass shower door on a fiberglass/acrylic/prefab shower with bathub? The stall walls portrudes on the side about an 1" I think so I don't know how would I install the side wall rails on this type of shower.?
Hi Marco, a bypass door can be installed on fiberglass/acrylic material. The vertical wall jambs are 1 1/2" minimum width and need to sit flush against the wall so that they are perpendicular to the horizontal track that sits on the threshold and the horizontal header that holds the door panels. they clearly just installed the door for the purpose of removing it for the video. mine looks disgusting and is brass colored...so this isn't an accurate video...also you would not haul it off in a van...you would break the glass and throw it in a bag
I agree! This tub is way to clean. Mine is from the 1980s. And they silicone the crap on the bottom track. Onto a cast iron tub! I broke a piece of tile on the wall. And I now have gouged Mark's on my tub from trying to pry off the bottom track with a crow bar!!
