I think you should've gone a little deeper with the Sword Core. You forgot to mention some of the extra benefits it gave you, such as the lower cooldown for dashes, or how the Arc Waves do extra damage. I think it also buffs up Ronin's blocking ability too.

*AFTERWORD* - This ended up being the the longest day of editing but I think it will pay off maybe not in this video but down the line. I messed with some new edit elements and bottom thirds with this video and Ill be looking to step things up using After Effects to integrate a more professional and "cool" element into my content. One thing I love about Ronin is that once you master him, you look and feel like a total badass, and when people see you coming their feet might get a bit chilly.

As an added tip, you can drop smoke whilst in the middle of a phase dash, so I tend to phase dash through an ememy titan and drop it directly on them! Also as a precaution, have sword block up when phase dashing, it will stop you phasing into an enemy titan and blowing yourself up. Hope that helps and adds to the dimensions of Ronin :)

this video was very useful since me and my friends are doing a 1v1 last Titan standing challenge to where after every round, you have to change your titan, and I couldn't use ronin, til now

Something mentioned but not spoke about in depth, The Sword Block in Sword Core. You can take a full salvo core and it will do MAYBE a bar of damage. Sometimes as ronin, tanking is actually the right choice. Example, in a doomed state many players will try and go for the melee execution. you can pop your core to block, bait your opponent as you back away all while your teammates shoot the titan that is focused on you.

I hope ronins prime execution will be something crazy like him staggering the enemy, phase out, and pop back behind the Titan with the sword clean through already.

Quick tip for Ronin: other Titans can't melee you while you're meleeing them. This means that you can prevent executions during sword core. (trust me I have 3 days on Ronin :3)

2 things 1: if you phase shift as an enemy pilot takes a battery, they get the battery but you don't take damage, basically giving you a free battery, and 2: make sure you don't phase shift into an enemy titan because although when using phase shift as a pilot and unphasing into a pilot you kill them, as Ronin you die instead, which can really kill momentum

Pro tip for you tony you can deploy electric smoke in phase dash and it will show up in the real world. Just noticed you always popped it after came out of phase dash so instead damaging and obscuring an enemy titans vision you only obscure your own and usually doesn't do anything to the enemy titan.

Yo Tony Mo! I'm not sure if you would do pilot/titan build vids but I'm gonna hit you up with this one anyway. The Energizer Bunny primary: EPG-1 or Cold War secondary: Thunderbolt kits: Power Cell and Kill Report (The Energizer Bunny isn't quiet) Ordinance: Arc Grenade Pilot Ability : Stim Boost: Battery Backup Titan: Ion It's all up to you to make sure the Frontier is completely recharged! Use your blue balls and bunny hops to charge up your titan meter and destroy those Duracell bastards with Ion. Also, don't forget to spread the Energizer glory with your Battery Backup.

A couple other tips: Running with an extra dash is a really good tactic, especially in LTS for getting quick batteries. Speaking of batteries, always get them. It charges your core and you also need all the health you can get. On the topic of health, use ronin to his last thread of hp. Never just abandon him but be sure to dodge and weave to not get executed. Using your sword core on an ion in a straight up melee battle is a bad idea. Ion is bugged or something so that she pushes you back and gets in more damage than you. Also, never fight alone. Use teammates as distractions or damage dealers so you can sweep in and clean up the remaining. Finally, be wary of your phase dash. Phasing into an enemy Titan will make you explode.

Great video!! Most operate Ronin as a one trick pony…the moment Ronin sees you it’s charge and slash! Every time. Easy to defeat. I have seen Ronin pilots that know how to block, phase shift, and put up one heck of a fight. My respect to those pilots. My opinion I don’t have a desire to use Ronin…

A lot of people use stealth auto-eject to avoid getting executed. If you're up close, trying to execute a Titan and you see they're about to auto-eject there's enough time to sword block to mitigate some of the explosive damage.

Like any Titan, it's all in who's in control. If people can't keep up with your speed mid-core than you have that advantage while you wreak havoc. Ronin is so natural for a play style that thrives off speed and quick decisions mid-battle to overwhelm the enemy. Ronin is a hell of a pilot killer too.

You also forgot that Tone's locks disappear when phase shifting. Use this technique to deal with those cheeky titans

For ronin I use thunderstorm and the extra boost so I can have 3 for extra agility and doge more of the enemy attacks it's very useful especially when using the sword core

I also find that Ronin is a great titan to use when you're first to fall. I've gone into a game many times with legion or tone set as my titan but after getting an awesome combo of kills at the start of the round and gaining access to my titan first, I usually switch out to Ronin because he's the pilot slayer. I just run around slaughtering the enemy team before they unlock their titans and rack up a large amount of points. I've personally found a lot of success with this strategy, but it isn't iron clad, as you don't always get your titan super early, but if you do, I think it's worth your while to switch out to Ronin and go pilot hunting.

i like to use Ronin with temporal anomaly and counter ready because you can use electric smoke while in phase shift. This combined with sword block can make you really annoying and effective.

I think Ronin is a great choice for Capture the Flag. With Turbo Engine and Temporal Anomaly you can carry the flag carrier back to base in the blink of an eye. I've also seen people use Ronin as a suicide bomber in Last Titan Standing. If you manage to trap titans in a corner or flank them, you can destroy them with Nuclear Ejection

the attack pattern I usually use with ronin is, 2x melee (when surprising) empty shotgun, sword slash(the electric attack) phase dash through enemy titan and drop smoke on them while in phase shift. melee until late close to doom, shotgun to doom while close and time the melee for easy executions

Some more tips: Watch out where you using your phase dash, if you get back inside a titan, you will instantly die A sword block can defend you from a nuclear ejection but only use it when the ejection animation is about to finish and kill you. If you get to see it right when it starts, just use the get-out-of-the-way move and with ronin speed and dash, it is pretty easy to get away with it Edit: with the dash thing I meant that if when you get back to your dimension, and you spawn in the same position another titan is, you will get instakillef

I've mastered Ronin from the start because from the first game I mostly used Stryder

its actually really easy why Respawn themed him after samurais and ninja. stealth and quick attacks that do incredible damage, all the while not being able to get hit because of low defense. That said a proper highlander titan would be amazing: imagine ronin but with a medium chassis' health

Ronin is best combo'd with ion. Gives the adv to ion against tones because you can take down the wall. Ion can deal with legions. Ronin feasts on northstar which would otherwise be trouble for ion. Ronin slows scorch allowing ion to poke him out and keep off flame shield. Ronin protects ion from other ronins, and lastly, say goodnight if a ronin gets up on an ion with no energy.

I prefer to run Temporal Anomaly (Reduces Phase Dash Cooldown) over the Thunderstorm (2 Archiv Wave charges) ability, but hear me out on this! Leadwall deals MASSIVE damage in close quarters, but since you can only get off 4 shots before you have to reload again, most people use their Arc wave for cc and instantly phase out of combat again. HOWEVER here's a little trick (more of a mechanic): The time you spend in a Phase Dash is the exact time you need to reload your Leadwall, which means you can dive into close quarters, blast the enemy with 4 powerful shots, phase dive (reload), reappear from another side and pump them full of lead a second time, THEN use Arc Wave and use the crowd control to either finish them off in melee combat or retreat after you've put out some MASSIVE damage (if you can aim properly). This rotation usually kills other Ronins and especially Northstars, which makes it an incredible tool to flank the enemy backline and eliminate those snipers (especially in LTS)

9:30 that titan ks actually triggered me just watching it.

here is a really mean ronin loadout. Forgot that one ability that automatically puts you into phaseshift when doomed. Put that on. Throw Nuclear ejection. When doomed run to the enemy and tap e or whatever you do to eject. By the time you get out and eject. Everything goes boom without them knowing.

a good tac for ronin is sucicde bomber when your doomed his mobility will lead to great mobilty phase dashing and corning a target will lead to a kill and may instantly give you tour titan back

Personally, I think Northstar is a better battle buddy. You may think, "but they do nothing to help you." However, you greatly help them. Those 2 paired will kill half the enemy team while still having slime health left.

Ronan used to be my favorite Titan I still like him but I rather Legion I just got into him today

Have to add that you have to be careful with that phase dash. Phase dashing and landing in an enemy titan is a good way to lose your Ronin.

What controller layout u use when playing Ronin? I use evolve because it's the best layout for pilot, but as Ronin I need to melee often and pressing "B" button to melee is hard.

I am a really aggresive titan in general but ronin is the only one im good at, I am easily defeated as legion, i cant attack well as tone, i am hunted and kill in seconds as northstar, i suck at monarch, i cant manage power with ion, pilots always target me as scorch. Personally, i think a good buff to ronins core would to make the arc waves also blind titans kind of like an arc grenade but with way more damage. This way ronins core would be a lot better to titans like tone and ions core that can just melt ronin.

ronins arc wave is a great long ranged attack me: IT DOES NOTHING

I basically only play Ronin and after watching that first tone fight I cringed a bit because there were so many mistakes. First of all, don't run two arc waves, run faster phase dash, second, utilize your phase dash to reload because it is basically free, while at the same time electric smoke while phasing through him. At that point arc waving him is good to trap him in it and barraging him with melee/shotgun while he is slow and confused. At that point he should be dead unless you fucked up. Also, your block wasn't up at the correct moments, especially when he salvoed which did huge damage. You should have taken less than 1 bar of damage from that fight but ended up at half a bar left.

A Lot of time when i use The phase dash happend thath My titan go inside The other titan and die...

Tip you can't block north Star shots so just avoid

I take the one that starts me at 30% on my sword core and then take Highlander cause I'm a boss.

You should have mentioned that if you get in phase space you will die if you get inside of a titan.

I had a guy tell me I suck at ronin because I killed him and two of his teammates on a roof after I took out a tone and then ejected and killed him again with a melee and then killed another teammate. All within 15 seconds

You see, you have Ronin, but i do to. and the way i have it, im a practical tank. Highlander Extra Dash And i commonly leadwall, phase dash in few hits of with core,dash behind to do tons of damage, then kill, more core- then repeat. I have a lot of ronin power

I play ronin myself I use turbo engine and the thunderstorm kit it's awesome to hunt down retreating titans and finish them off but I don't recommend nuclear ejection where is the pride in that? it's like dead mans hand from mw3 people just use it because they can't do damage/getting kills properly also to counter people who go for executions just don't use it

I watch ronin guides so I get better I am already a good player as ronin but I have not mastered him yet

Counter Ready is good, but I feel that Overcore is where it's at. With Overcore it only takes I think 4 shots with the Leadwall and you're ready to go. So I usually can rock Sword Core with about 50-70% of my combat. Also learn to strafe with Ronin. I see so many noobs using Ronin and using their dashes by dashing forward, but that only gets you killed. STRAFE with those dashes and you'll mitigate a lot of damage, ESPECIALLY with Sword Core active. Side dash every time you attack and keep juking them. Honestly, I've only seen two Ronins in my area that are actually good. Most others are kinda stupid and throw him away, which makes me sad cause Ronin is my favorite and I hate seeing people just waste him cause they suck :(

To me Ronin feels like a Titan Respawn thought of as a cool or wow factor and to make their game sell (I mean who doesn't like a mech with a fucking sword) but they didn't really know how to make it actually work. It's an undeniable fact that Ronin is really underpowered and is more of a high risk low reward kind of Titan, meaning you'd only play him simply because it's a mech with a fucking sword. But if you wanted to actually do good in the game or be competitive Ronin would be a poor choice. One way I could see Ronin become a better Titan is they made his sword block more like Genji's from Overwatch. Maybe he could block 100% of the damage or even reflect it? That would definitely make him more valuable. And his core definitely needs tweaking. Sword core is kind of dumb if you ask me. Maybe in addition of swinging his sword with a damage boost he could also throw a sort of energy wave? Like the character Ichigo from the anime Bleach does with his big ass sword. That would be badass and give Ronin some range. Overall I feel like his sword doesn't really serve that big of a purpose apart from making you go "holy shit that's a mech with a fucking sword" so they should definitely make his sword be the most powerful thing in his arsenal. That would make him more balanced in my eyes. His low health could get him shredded in seconds, but in turn you could shred a Titan with twice your health if you know how to master the Blade.
