@@jaanikaapa6925 This is super ironic, because I just got the brand-new "Earthrise" voyager class Starscream, who's a Cold War-era F-15C, and I also have this Megatron. When transformed into jet mode and placed next to each other, Starscream is bigger than Megatron. =P
@@jaanikaapa6925 You mean the real-life "Megatron" tank? Yes, I've seen that. That's really cool. Probably the closest thing we'll ever have to a real-world version of Generation 2 Megatron's vehicle mode.
Oh, man, Doomshot's transformation sequence looks really complicated. I had to rewind that bit a few times to see the manual dexterity you performed to get him changed.
To be fair, this IS pretty smart on Hasbro's part. It's a decent Megatron if you don't want the huge leader one, and is probably more play-able with for kids than the big shiny one. Collectors will probably wait for Blitzwing. So either way they're making money off the mold. Alternately collectors will wait for Takara's version that probably will have silver. Also lol at end clip. Trollimus Prime.
Hey man, love the reviews you put out! I don't know if someone told you in the comments already, but if you pull the tiny cannon straight out of the turret, there's a slightly detailed 5mm post underneath, which explains why a cannon that looks like it can hinge up and down doesn't move at all. I don't know if that helps any, but if it ever comes up in useless trivia, you got it covered!
I love the fact I am not the best person in this situation to me and my best friends in this country and the world is the only one I know that will try it and make you happy with coat and the other side to it is a good person and lathan are not a great idea as well but it seems that you could have the best of me if it didn't work
Personally i prefer this ove the blitzwing version, i feel megatron’s transformation is smoother and more fun to do , i have blitzwing and idk if it just mine but i CANNOT transform him , the tabs that tab into the hip do NOT do it , they can’t reach the hole , i think it was a design flaw because i think the tab is too far back because the leg does not move as far as the slot
CountryMetal01 is that supposed to be a roast? Firstly don’t roast an innocent guy just stating his opinion that’s just being an asshole. Second if you want to roast someone make sure the roast isn’t pathetic and edgy
I'm so glad I watched this after I got this toy for my collection. I didn't know about the thigh tab, which made the tank and plane mode unsecure. Watching this made me find it and it made the toy better for me.
What are these days Megatron is going to capture prime and he’s going to force feed him burritos and oddly enough I think we will all enjoy seeing that
I like this as a Megatron, my view being that Megatron traditionally cares less about his disguises and more about their practical applications. With his cannon on he looks like a functional tank, as a jet he looks like a functional jet even if neither would pass close inspection. As Blitzwing I'd be more concerned about visible elements of other transformations. Plus as a robot I really like his look.
The Leader class Megatron from Combiner Wars has stickers done in gray. Maybe those will fit this one better assuming you still have them or can get a spare set of those
If you play Transformers: Earth Wars, that's definitely Blitzwing's mould. The ingame character transforms exactly the same and looks exactly the same, with the colouring differences and different head for Blitzwing of course, and the more G1'esque Blitzwing chest details.
I find the best thing to do with this Megs is to go G2 with him and put just the black part of the canon on his shoulder and "forget where you put" the gray gun. ;)
What Hasbro should've done take the Hardhead mold, tweak some things, add on a fusion cannon, upscale it to voyager size, and have that be our Megatron.
So if I remember right, Emgo loved Galvatron's tank, hated the plane. For megs here, he hated the tank, loved the plane. And he wasn't too fond of either of the robot modes. An overall draw perhaps?
Great Megatron in my opinion. Bought this and combiner wars Optimus recently. Looks great standing side by side. Its certainly has G1 influence the most, from the white / black colour, face sculp and the torso part. I always prefer Megatron with Tank as vehicle mode instead of a gun. Although the robot mode of G1 Megatron has always been my fav, which is why I like this version alot.
only real complaint I have of the crappy repaints coming out BEFORE who the mold was rally meant for is history teaches later waves aren't ordered as much as initial launches so we will get tons more of this guy instead of the Blitzwing if it ever happens..
There would be no issue about the visible jet thrusters on the tank mode if the toes can rotate. Sadly there's none of it and the tank mode was cursed for having jet thrusters that can only propel the tank backwards -_-
Tank mode reminds me of what a modern day Churchill heavy tank and the jet thrusters could be flame throwers. I do feel I'd love it as it's intended Blitzwing much more. But I will say it has to be better than his nemesis Prime as a tanker / Jet....
I am so happy I already have Combiner Wars Leader Megatron with the DX9 Upgrade kit. No need for this figure now. You can tell who this mold was intended to be, but I reckon Generations Blitzwing was fuck loads better, despite the figure's flaws.
One question. How am i suppose to manage tabbing Megatron's legs the way they're supposed to ? It's impossible. I bought him yesterday, and I haven't managed to transform him to any other mode, due to that problem.
Probably quite late, but you have to REALLY force it to tab in. I spent about an hour or two just working on one leg, so don't give up! Despite being incredibly hard to force, once you get the legs in their proper position, tabbing them in will gradually become easier as the joints loosen and you master the technique. Good luck!
Tank mode isn't that bad. looks like a old WWII vintage Churchill tank. The turret and small gun are actually pretty close to scale for a Churchill tank with a howitzer as the gun. At least it isn't yet another F-15 with a robot sticking out underneath it, like what the jet mode is.
I think this is the most succesful of the three obviously "reverse repurposed" Triple Changer molds, Optimus and Sentinel were too blatantly forced into those robot modes, while the jet mode is obviously Blitzwing, Megatron looks fairly accurate in tank and robot. Also, to better fit the Headmaster inside the cockpit you should lower his arms
Oh and at 14:10 i found a way to put doomshot in by putting the arms completely down and then sticking him in he fits much more better and it closes all the way :D
I think the tank mode is better than the jet [the turret on the bottom of the jet looks dumb] but his robot mode is the best. Overall not too bad, you should get the G2 Megatron for comparison. And a G1 Megatron too
I bet that when he reviews laser prime, he is gonna want it in black, then it will suddenly come out in black but it is gonna not be by Hasbro but TAKARA or funpub instead. And Octane. Yay for octane.
I think it's cool that this is a triple changer, but I'd personally prefer it have one transformation into a cool vehicle instead of 2 poor vehicle modes
While I do think Megatron turning into a tank is a perfect replacement for the handgun, I never liked the idea of him turning into a jet. Megatron should transform into something more bigger and powerful than a jet. Something that screams, king of the skies. While his vehicle mode may not be fast or easy to maneuver, it makes up for it in strength and fire power. Transformers: Animated got it right, when Megatron transformed into a Osprey Helicopter. I usually compare Decepticons that transform into jets, to Autobots that transform into cars. Optimus transforming into a semi truck (or fire truck) makes sense. Big truck leading cars. So Megatron's flight mode should be similar to that. A big military plane, leading smaller fighter jets. But that's my opinion. What are your thoughts?
I like the jab at Hasbro there. I personally didn't buy any combiner wars series toys bc they all were the same molds and not good transformations at that. But they combined, so people still Bought them
Combiner Wars Optimus Prime (and its Battle Core repaint) (which looks better as Motormaster) scales well with this Megatron figure (even though Blitzwing looks better in that mold), and Combiner Wars Megatron (and its Armada repaint) scales well with the Titans Return Powermaster Optimus Prime figure.
Starscream91 what is your problem, all i wanted to do was state my opinion on the toy and you call me a fag, nice work you really know how to seem like a good person
Is silver (I'd even settle for gunmetal grey) plastic in short supply or something? This Megatron would be an instant buy for me if it didn't look like an poorly unpainted prototype! Takara, I'm looking in your direction!
