Hey Gang, apologies for the slowness in uploading a new video, real life gets in the way sometimes and I took a very overdue and much needed vacation. Batteries are recharged and I'm back and this episode, we're looking at Tokyo Highway from Itten Games, a mash up of a strategy and a dexterity game. Your objective is to get all your colourful little cars out onto your highway first by building road sections that pass over or under your opponents! Sounds easy enough right?
Have a good few reviews in the works, I believe I have 15 scripts written, 6 episodes filmed and 2 partially so... yeah, it's been a busy period! Those of you keen eyed may have noticed the new 3D titles and I've been working on a new title sequence too, this is a MASSIVE project and...I hope I can get what's in my head on film.
Got Halloween scripts written, know what I'm doing there so... yeah, all good stuff coming out over the next few months!

Can't wait for you to review the Crystal Maze board game. Perhaps do a vintage vs modern special video since the show has been axed a second time.

It's not so bad when you're playing, you can keep track of your own road by seeing where your colour cars are in the cityscape. It plays very straightforward :)

Itʼs _Down_ _From_ _the_ _Attic_ thatʼs the modern classic! Luke, you never need apologize for a gap between episodes. _DFTA_ fans know that - whether youʼre taking time off, busy with other concerns, or hard at work writing and shooting and editing for us - the next episodeʼs quality will be worth the wait. On the other hand, sometimes thereʼs nothing like instant gratification: Within ten minutes of watching this episode, I had my copy ordered! Now I just have to wait for it to come in the mail 🐌… _grumble_ _grumble_ Donʼt take this as a comment on the music used - but man, this gameʼs minimalist look and technological theme practically screams Kraftwerk. Iʼll definitely have to break out some of their albums when playing. _Autobahn_ would be an obvious choice, but really itʼs just the bandʼs general esthetic that the game reminds me of. Thanks for introducing me to the game! And welcome back! I look forward to Halloween… 👻

Just to follow up: Last week I introduced Tokyo Highway to my game group, and it was a hit! Even when the game was over, the last player with autos remaining tried to keep building, just for the fun of it…! I did end up playing Kraftwerkʼs “Autobahn” - _The_ _Mix_ mix - during the game, and it made for a good soundtrack. One downside: the manualʼs utilitarian Japanglish, formatted like hypertext markup on paper…I wish I had rewatched your very clear video shortly before trying to set out the rules for everyone, or better still had played the video for the group. However, the manualʼs faults notwithstanding, the game was quickly and easily grasped once it got going. One curious note: The more roads we built, the more I craved a popsicle! Thanks again for bringing the game to my attention.

This was an excellent review! Wasn’t ever interested in the look, but you e definitely sold me on the design! Also great use of title scenes! Something I plan to do myself, but a little different. Really breaks down the videos well!

Thanks man, yeah I've been using them for the past few videos, always had the audio breaks there so having the titles too, makes it more formulaic. Btw, Tokyo highway is defo worth looking into, know you already have Men At Work but its but have a feeling they play very differently

@@kidcardco Yeah yeah...I'll get round to doing it :D I've heard the Crystal Maze experience in Manchester has reopened now :) will need to check that out too.
