Tokyo Rig Underwater Action - How to Fish a Tokyo Rig

The Tokyo Rig is hands down one of the best bass fishing lures on the market. If you are looking to jack some jaws off of a murky lake bottom, this bait is a great option over a jig or texas rig. The short bottom bouncer wire keeps you plastics from getting buried in the murk. Bass and Pike will love the horizontal presentation of this lure as well. In this video we also take a look at swing head jigs. This bass fishing lure does work when flipping a standard jig doesn't. Due to the heavier jig head, you can let this bait sink to the bottom and slow roll it back to you, knocking into brush and cover. The swinging action will entice a reaction strike from waiting fish.

Have you fished the Tokyo Rig?

I want to try a worm on that Tokyo. I think it would have killer action not a senko but possibly a curly tail or something along those lines.

Haven’t tried it yet, but it’ll probably smash

@@aaanglers they've been straight up macking on it for the last few months! Better than t rig for heavy cover. Fish are hooked deep with this. Green pumpkin baby brush hog with the tails dipped in chartreuse. You're welcome 💪🎣

The finesse Tokyo rig has been killing it! Throw a 3/16 or lighter weight on it and throw dropshot/thin baits and you can destroy the bass. Zman finesse wormz work really good! Coppertruse of course!

This is by far the most underrated method of catching bass imo. It just flat out works

Another great video brother! Enjoy your trip to Florida. I am trying to get to AZ for some good bass fishing soon. I have never used a Tokyo rig yet, but will try it soon.

It's money on those murky bottoms. Definitely worth throwing. Have fun in AZ, some big bass opportunities there!

Good video 👍 i would like to see the big TRD on them rig's, and i don't think i would use a Tokyo rig because to me i would use a drop shot setup, and adjust the length on it from the bait to weight. If you want the clanking noise then add a bead or a egg weight for sound and weight, But i do like the swing head jig swimming it with boss hogs in bama bug color here in Michigan i do good on that color.

I think a ribbon tail worm might look better than the big trd on this rig. Never tried it but I like the idea. I use the Tokyo as my aggressive off the bottom technique and the drop shot for finesse, similar application, different tactics and action. Have you tried any of the chartreuse colors like the D-Bomb in this video? I have been crushing it on those colors year round.

@@aaanglers I have tried some of the chartreuse stick baits in crankbaits and haven't had any so I just kind of steer clear from those. But I would have to look into some of those to give a try🍻

Hey bro. You should try To set up a Camera like twenty or so feet from where you cast Like along the shore and watch how the action is when you have fifteen feet of line out. Know what I am saying💡

nice video and info bro... i am new to this tokyo rig...i want to ask..can i use snap instead of swivel for the tokyo rig? is there any huge difference?

Honestly I haven't fished it much, because I lean on the shaky head if I were going to use it. I'll try it out the season more and see if I can catch a few hogs on it.

@@springfield1911guy I see what your saying. I would definitely give it a shot. I think a ribbon tail would look good on that too. Also ZMAN Razr Shadz or Minnowz would look good
