You obviously don't understand he made that part of his contract.. Remember he didn't want to do the roast at all.. They must have paid well but yah toms a poosy
And now we know why it sucked even more. Tom was in control and i GUARANTEE he had it in his contract to not roast or fuck with him making him a giant pooosy
All of you don’t know what amazing comedy is!! They were the best performers all night besides Nikki!! Actually no they were actually equally just as funny!
He's right. If someone says he's on another level from Brendan schaub they are absolutely wrong. Because there is only one level and him and Brendan schaub share it..
So the people who passed on rehearsal failed miserably. It’s almost like you actually have to practice the things you want to be proficient in !! Tom Segura is losing touch with reality. And Tom is clearly hating on Tony and his proficient level of comedy. Which is what Tom lacked at the roast.
@@iguacu3517 julian and drew did spots at the comedy store for a few weeks, true professionals, tom should have taken dunking lessons, proof of what happens when you dont practice
The comics clearly took offense to Tom playing Mr. Big Shot and skipping rehearsal and decided their get-back would be ignoring him completely. They played him perfectly!
Total diva behavior. How dare he not cancel his show with thousands of people planned to attend, who got baby sitters, moved things around, took time off from work, etc. I’m disgusted he decided to honor his previous commitment. What a piece of sht, right ?
@@roadtorecoveryfitnessthese people don't live in the real world. They have a manufactured world of characters that they genuinely believe are struggling and fighting this uphill battle against whatever weird new idea this guy comes up with.
Tom Doesn't realize If he just stopped being negative and started thinking positive . He could stop being poor at doing Comedy It's all about positive thoughts 💬
@@kriskquinn.68yeah older tom specials weren't to bad. His ego has him thinking he's an A-list celebrity that could do anything when he isn't and can't.
I find his old specials when he was super fat, pretty funny, in the last 5 years he’s truly gone insane and turned into the person they talked shit about, it’s like they’re doing a perpetual cool guy bit. It’s actually insane we get to watch this happen. Strange world
They took the Garth Brooks played out psychopath bit and just made it about Tom Brady, they are just continuing to spew out the same unoriginal content
Both of them come from really wealthy backgrounds. Especially tom. Im 99% sure rhats why christina got with him. If you look at where they were in life, and the disproportionate level of attractvienness, it doesnt make sense, until you consider Toms family wealth. Their family wealth is also why Rogan catered to them, even though they are subpar comedians. Always follow the money
Yes... people defended him for years... "He's the real deal amongst Rogan's friends", "a real funny comic", etc. Etc. I always found he sucked. Tom's "comedy": "And then I was like, ok. And she went: really? So i said: yes. Then she goes: Oh yeah?... Etc. Etc.
Jimmy Carr takes jokes about himself very gracefully no matter how brutal they get. He laughs just as hard at them as he does about others. These two potato heads folded like wet toilet paper.
@@GarrusDeWittyeah, if you watch him on 8 out of 10 cats the guests rip him a shit-ton and he accepts it and laughs along. He's very secure in himself
Tony is a diva himself but the man can in fact roast. An he's funny also not always horrible he just gets moments as a huge fan of kill tony too I say this. I watch every week sometimes he's just too angry. He's good though I think he came into it though last few years. I had seen him before his stand up and stuff outside the roast I never really liked his comedy though.
@@El.Sasquatcho69 I agree with you. His roasts are top tier. Few do it better, honestly. But you're right, watching him on KT week in and week out.. it's a bit exhausting. He's very hit or miss on the fly. I know what you mean about him seeming too angry. He's often hyper-critical of decent sets for seemingly no reason. Not even for a laugh. We call it being pissy here, lol. Again, one of the best roast comics there is, but I don't know... sometimes it feels like he's not even watching the same show that everyone else in the room is.
The core reason why all these Rogansphere guys (particularly Tom and Bert) are so unlikeable is that you constantly get the sense that they are trying to let you know how cool/funny/smart/superior they are OR they're telling stories as a way to justify/deflect/explain away things about themselves. Even if they're doing it with some charisma and some jokes here and there, their core goal more often than not is image-curating and ego protection. Pretty wild how that's the exact opposite of what makes so many comedians enjoyable: vulnerability, awareness, realness. When someone's aware of and honest about their insecurities, it's relatable and endearing. When someone displays zero awareness of their insecurities (like these guys) and constantly wants to control how you see them, it's insufferable. Truly don't get how anyone's still tuning into these guys at this point, it's fucking annoying but more than that, it's fucking BORING.
I've never picked that up from either of them, and they have a massive audience. Never gotten that impression from Shane Gillis or Tim Dillon. I think you guys just imagine that the pretend drama is real.
@@ThenDarknessFalls I will say that I agree about Shane and Tim; I tend to like those guys and they come off pretty down to earth to me. It was probably a reach for me to indict the whole Rogansphere, and admittedly I'm far from an expert or authority on that whole world. However, I stand by my thoughts on Tom and Bert. Maybe I'm guilty of only watching cherry-picked videos of their worst moments, I don't know, but they just annoy me more often than not these days. Also, the whole Tom/airport/poor people saga was, like, *legendarily* indefensible and un-self-aware on his part, so that has admittedly skewed my feelings on him and his content, but I'm not even sure that that's a bad thing because it seems to have given us some pretty startling insight into his character. So much of their appeal (as with many comedians and podcasters) is supposed to be that they seem like fun/cool/relatable guys, but here lately they've just struck me as pathetic and decidedly UNcool.
@@DavidMatuska-jw2ug Patrice is one of the greats and Ralphie was genuinely funny. No need to be a fat POS to win over the common man, just be funny (I hate fat people)
Tom may be lazy. He obviously works a lot, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t lazy. Lots of lazy people go to work and are lazy while there. Tom is basically being propelled on credit from Rogan. A lot of his success in some way was handed to him. Problem is that to achieve that level of success organically requires a ton of hard work. And to sustain it requires more hard work. Tom didn’t do the work to get there and therefore doesn’t have the aptitude to sustain it.
Really? I’d say he put work in. Those earlier specials of his are still hilarious. I would even go so far as to say that YMH helped propel him more than Rogan did. However, I do agree with you that since getting propelled into a higher fame bracket he’s gotten lazier
Tom seems to be phoning everything in and it’s almost like he takes his fame and success for granted. He put zero effort into his podcasts, packs them with ads and expects people to tune into banked episodes from four months ago. Instead of self reflecting and thinking “jeez, maybe I should step things up” he lashes out at “fat poors”. Seems like he put little effort into the roast, his podcasts, his friendship with Bert, and now his stand up. He better change his entitled attitude before he drives off all his viewers.
His dad built his career. Berts did too. Bryan callens dad dis the same but he's likeable so he's forgiven. Everybody's true feelings about these two is on full display.
The funniest part is Netflix pitched a SportsCenter style delivery, but ofc Tom is such a good writer he changed it and rewrote it all lol…. Not funny shocking?
The real test is going to be the next episode of 2 bears. If it's a recording from 7 months ago, then these muppets were really embarassed about their performance
Tom decribing his comedy as “proficient” really sums it up. A real “good enough” mentality. There are levels to comedy. And it’s sad that these bozos are so popular and seem to have no respect for the craft. There are tons of comics who do not stop working on material when it’s “good enough”. They take it to the next level. They should understand this
I genuinely love Tom and Bert. Not because I agree with them or even find them funny, I just enjoy the downfall of two delusional men. Who ironically have the complete opposite personalities and egos.
They got them together up on stage to minimise the cringe screentime-wise, at the cost of the cringe being more concentrated for a shorter period of time
Bro the opening joke how the british guy(cantremembernamerightnow) throws the "does he understand his saying this right now" after Burnt says how he didnt know how to recognize morrons 😂😂😂 so good..bless burts little heart
I still say that I think there is something deeper to why no one roasts tom. Even jimmy carr doesn't make fun of him. Maybe he doesn't let people roast him. Look at kill tony, when tok is a guest even David Lucas don't roast him.
@@penelopepalm He's a sociopath raised from a long line of soulless suits. A corporate shill at a microbial level. It would be hard to imagine one of those guys as feeling real emotions and connections with people. You're spot on, he can't play the part of a regular person.
Real comics don’t bother with him. They know he’s JRE adjacent but don’t give him any props. Watch an ep. of Shane & Matt after that Beer Olympic weekend. They basically just talk to each other. He’s a bump on a log. Same at the Roast.
@@samanthab1923 money can ruin people. I went to one of his shows in 2017 and its nuts to see someone crash and burn so bad lol it makes me embarrassed to even say that
Pretty accurate interpretation. They knew they did bad. They explained it was supposed to be something different. They shouted out the people who did well, and they called it a day. Some people suck at roasts. Not sure you could ask for anyone more aware. Nice job on the new video, though. Really building that new audience of niche anger lol.
I never heard of these guys before until I went to the Brady Roast. Then on Tuesday we had Bert come on the show I work on at Paramount. Seemed like a fun nice guy.
I think your analysis was spot on. Given some new details, it makes sense on why their bit didn't go over as well as it could have. Everything from Tom's delivery to him not being roasted once.
By well-off, you mean their family is just middle class? Or their family is rich? Because very few comedians come from really rich families.. what are some examples?
Tom is right bout once many get to a certain level, it’s just bout taste. Then there’s 5-6 comics that are way beyond that. They aren’t on Harts level, Dave, Rock, all on different level. Mulaney might be there. In the 80s there’s a lot of very good comics and then Seinfeld, Rosanne, Carl, Pryor, were just better. Leno was on a level in the early 80s that was unmatched. Had insane amounts of material. Every era has people on a different level than all the very good comics. With internet you just see far more decent comics
I watched their segment on the roast. I don't know why it's getting so much hate. It's exactly what I expected from them and they did a pretty good job given they didn't rehearse together. They're entertainers. They entertained me in that segment. 🤷🏼♂️
So Tim and Bart, two professional comedians allowed writers at Netflix to write terrible punchlines and they were okay doing it because they got paid. It’s basically what they’re saying
@@pavlovsdogman They all post the same stuff lol. Seems like its a race to see who posts first since 2lazy just had to apologize for rushing a shitty take on the Bobby lee SA. Honestly, they just use different clips in the same context. Starting to wonder when this bubble will burst.
At least 2lazy makes videos on Stern and other 00s drama that most of us weren't around for or didn't care about. That stuff is more interesting that seeing the other 5 channels post about the same drama with almost mirrored takes.
@@180treehousegang8 that’s how you know they hardly even watch the content the report on. If they actually watched the content, they would have seen when it happened. Christian RU-vidr Ruslan was talking about it the same week it happened.
The channels name is comedy enforcement. This dude has never made a joke but thinks he can analyse comedy? Dude would be a great morning show weatherman
Oh man, growing up a Buffalo Bills fan and watching Brady be two steps ahead of everyone else throughout his career and then watch Bert and Segura do a duo-set for the first time ever in roast history made me think he and the writing team set a trap for these guys. Bert gave them the idea to do a power point play by play and they immediately said 'yep great idea'. At least 20 % of the people on stage got up for a restroom break and gave no fucks about it. After Segura no-showed the rehearsal to leave Bert there by himself it was open season lol. Tony literally did crowd work immediately after bc this was one of the first Netflix live events and the only set released 100% in full through Netflix was the Segura and Kreischer. Master class
"Multimedia experiences" are corporate poop. Studies have shown they split your focus, drain your interest, and mess with the pacing of entertainment. They're worthless for teaching and making people laugh. What a dorky idea, lets do a comedy powerpoint. Genius Tom.
I’ve never thought Tom was all that funny. Or Bert. But I can at least respect Bert because he can laugh at himself and is developing a decent sense of self-awareness.
Tom and Bert are those type of uncles that you don’t want to see but they force their way into the family outings making everybody wish they left the beer at home. Jimmy Carr definitely shouldn’t have affiliated himself to join a podcast with those guys
