The Cowboys really are the weirdest franchise in football when you consider how poorly they have performed rekative to expectations over nearly three decades now. If any other team routinely getting bounced out in the divisional round was the height of their success for nearly thirty years, we wouldn't be talking about them tge way we talk about the Cowboys. We only talk about them because of the brand and because some people in sports media think that their auccess in the 90s somehow proves they're still legitimate contenders. By any objective measure, we should not be talking about the Cowboys nearly as much as we do every season. Until they can actually show they're capable of deep postseason runs, they should be considered choke artists, nothing more.

I want to see Dak as a free agent, either 2 things will happen. No one will overpay him and he'll become Kirk Cousins when he left Washington. Or someone will overpay him and it will quickly be shown to be the worst contract in the league.

I think the team should pay him, just not max money. That’s the problem, it’s always a “next man up,” philosophy in paying QB’s. Just because their contract expires doesn’t mean they have to be the highest paid guy. When your contract expires you don’t automatically deserve Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow money. Not all QB’s are great. Some are just pretty dang good and some are alright and owners need to start paying them pretty dang good and alright money.

I think Dak's gonna do just enough to get Jerry to pull out the checkbook (my forecast: 1 playoff win), and it'll happen at the last possible, most expensive possible moment. And that'll more or less be Dak's high water mark; he'll never get decent weapons again because of his own monster cap hit, but a rebuild won't really be possible either. So they'll muddle on through...

The question Brou should ask Nick is do you think Dak is worth $60 million a season? It is alright to sit there and say the Raiders or Panthers or Saints would pay Dak the $60 million, but the question is is Dak worth that money, and the answer is no. You should not pay a great regular season QB anything over $40 million. Anything over that and it goes $45 million for a play off win, $50 million for a championship winning QB and higher for a Superbowl contending QB. Dak has won a play off game so $45 million maybe, but even then he is stretching the friendship.

Happen had a whopping 22 passing TDs and 3700 yards passing his best season. That's not great QB numbers. His team pushed him into the end zone other than that. I can't believe he got any credit with a team that had the most pro bowlers and all pros in the league that year.

Yes he will. Top 10 QBs don’t become free agents. Either you get paid by your team or they trade/let you walk because you declined. Dak is going to become a free agent who can go wherever he wants. He can’t be tagged either. With how desperate teams are for a QB Dak is going to get more than Burrow. Dak is going to be in the most powerful position a QB has ever been in. When have you ever see a QB be second team all pro and be a free agent a year later? Never. Even if the Cowboys win the Super Bowl, Dak can dip out and go to the highest bidder. Just because you can’t let go of how much hate the media has for the Cowboys doesn’t change what Dak is. Mahomes, Lamar, Allen and Burrow are the only QBs you can definitely put over him with no arguments. Stroud, Stafford and Goff are the only other QBs who have a legit argument. That puts Dak at 8. And no Purdy and Hurts are not better than Dak. They are products of the teams around them. But even if you wanted to put those two above Dak, which would be ridiculous, that makes Dak 10th. In reality, Dak is better than Goff which puts him at 6.
