In 1983 Tom did a style shift with a trio of Albums : Swordfish Trombones , Rain Dogs and Franks Wild Years Almost Beefheart like Anyway from first of these Albums Swordfish Trombones I would suggest Shore Leave

The "Jersey Girl " Kathleen Brennan help turn Tom's life around , introduced him to Capt. Beefheart , became his wife and the rest is history .

When he was inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame he said people always say that I am difficult to work with and i haven't written any hits...and they say that as if it's a bad thing. One of the many reasons Tom makes me happy. Also would suggest you check out Scott Walker(of Walker brothers fame) but especially his solo stuff oh and if you ain't Tindersticks they would be right up your alley
