I think he's saying Morrison "floored" Cooper -- not the other way around. At least that's how I read it.

Maybe. But they really didn't "fight" on the inside. Halstead simply clinched and held. Big difference. A ref will always prefer to let the fighters punch their way out of a clinch, but Halstead wouldn't allow that. He literally tied Tommy's arms up and held on for dear life.

Nothing was wrong with his chin. It's a lot easier to get knocked down or knocked out when you're dog tired. The right hand that Bentt landed on him would have waated almost any fighter.

I thought he had a weak chin too but most of the time he went down from clean solid shots. He wasn't the best defensively and got careless. It happens. Even Lennox Lewis got knocked out a few times. I always think if Morrison as a good heavyweight with a puncher's chance to beat anyone. He wasn't great. He wasn't a legend. He was just a good fighter. The media calling him the Great White Hope demonized him among some circles. There was no such thing. People just loved knock out artists back then and he was one of them.

He was very good lookin! Wish he took boxing more seriously.

@@twinsylvia17 Morrison's record is not a strong one. Whenever he came up against a decent fighter who wasn't over the hill he lost. But his opponents were so carefully picked to make him look good... Morrison's finest hour was against Foreman of course, but even then Foreman was rather old!

I think there are only a handful of heavyweight champs who haven't fought a few bums. Look how many Briggs and the Klitschko's fought. Even greats like Foreman and Holmes fought some.

Even if he is a bum, at 77-8 he's the best of the bums.

Jesse Clark had a 0-31 record so must have been an ultimate bum fighter,worse than Wimpy.
