Wilson's new DYNAPWR Forged irons get a detailed look and test - at $999USD for a 5-GW set, they present some of the best value in the market this year. golfliberty.com SUBSCRIBE: / @golfliberty
Wilson are great irons and at a far more affordable price point than the major brands, i play the Staff Model CB’s and they were better for me than the P7MC in my fitting.
I actually like the chrome just because it makes them look classy and for some reason imo gives it a more premium look. All preference though. I play the D9 forged and haven't had any issues with being blinded by the sun.
Recently purchased. 4-GW $2100 with graphite shafts. $400-$500 cheaper than the "name" brands here in Australia. Not too shiny in the bright Australian sunshine.
I never got a chance to hit them back in the day as I am LH and really hard to find in the late 80's and 90's. Closest I cam was a set of MacGergor blades and pure shots were so nice but mishits were brutal. The staff blades back then were the number 1 iron on tour I think. 845's and Eye 2's were just making their mark and changing things. I did end up getting, and still own, my 845's!
What an awesome review! You are swinging great. I tried these Wilson's last week and they are the most impressive irons I've tested in the last few years.
Great looking sticks. I play with shades normally in Florida so the chrome isn’t as big of a deal for my eye. Solid offerings for Wilson and so many companies the past couple of years. Glad there are some cost controlled awesome offerings too. These and the Callaway Rogue ST Pro irons from two years ago come to mind from the mainstream companies. Cheers! Swing is looking so good.
Yes they are shiny but that, along with the hosel detail, is a nod to the past and I quite like it for that reason. I play the D9 Forged in my long irons with the CB middle irons and blade short irons. They combo beautifully (with a bit of loft adjustment for gapping). Hopefully you'll review those too, soon.
Great review Matt, not many Wilson reviews out there, I play the Wilson D9 Forged irons and think they are amazing and I'm guessing close to these new irons.
Matt great video love my stealths BUT always looking for a way to make the game easier lol and these irons look like they are a winner I am gonna look into them plus i love new shiny golf equipment lol be well and stay safe cheers from Vulcan Canada
I have been playing Hogan PTX until last year when I got the Titleist t100S but had major issues with them on distance dispersion. Could see 10-15 yards differences on some shots when hit flush and bigger when not. Went back to my 2006 Callaway's X tour itons which are more traditional lofts and been much better. Decided to go away from players and move more into forgiving but prices are just insane. Being a lefty like you, sometimes harder to find DTC companies that offer LH but I am trying the Takomo 101t irons which are still being custom built for me to my specs. Got tired of trying to be better at my age and just enjoy golf. Got down to a 8.5 handicap but it is stuck there and at 51, it is time to just go for forgiveness.
Just picked up a brand new set of the previous generation Staff CB for $599 US. Adjusted the lie at no cost and changed the grips. Out the door at just over $700 US.
It was a great week for Wilson Staffer's on the men's professional Tours. Thanks Matt. Currently playing the D9 forged. Can attest to the "shinyness". Kinda wanna give them a scrub with a Scotch-brite sponge. Anyone try that? Think Wilson could have sold a few more of these if they called them D11 and covered up the powerholes.
You don't need to be sorry to say that. They aren't for the golfer with OCD due to scratches and fingerprints, other than that.. any glare will only be there when the sun lines up.. that's .3 seconds of the round
love the vid, keept it up! more content please :) BUT sorry to say but cant tweak loft from factory on these :( but can tweak in a loft and lie machine.
Matt there was a time when all irons were shiny. The sun was strong in the sky and golf flourished. Many people love chromed clubs. One mention about the finish would have been sufficient. To repeat numerous times and put it in the title is click bait. You’re better than that.I love what Wilson is doing! Keep going Wilson and don’t lose the chrome. Like the Grill on a 1950 Buick it’s Classic and beautiful.
Catchy title, but I thought wait a minute, my 1979 Maxfli Australian Blades with the red dot (not sure the red dot meant anything) were chromed, and so were a lot of other irons.
Most Wilson reviews get the old “For the money” treatment. If money wasn’t an object, how do the rank these vs the others in the same class? And try to pretend it’s not a Wilson. Some can’t see past the name
@@cameronloveless1751 You and I don't. The typical consumer does. And when you already struggle for marketshare, better not dig yourself deeper into the hole with terrible names.
