Just because Toonami Rewind is a thing, doesn't mean that Checkered Past is ending so quick, Checkered Past itself is only going to be on Mondays through Thursdays, while Toonami Rewind will be on Fridays. Checkered Past is too beloved right now to end early, it's here to stay because of high ratings.
Yeah, but it’s become so stale because they keep repeating the same batch of episodes. The best choice is to swap other classic shows in rotation, Chowder and especially Flapjack should be a good fit for Checkered Past.
@@CarbyGuuGuu Chowder can’t be on Checkered Past because it is kid friendly. It has to be shows with adult stuff in them. Maybe they can add Johnny Bravo to the block as well as some Cartoon Network movies.
@@cnnickanddisneyfanboy9523Not exactly. With Checkered Past WBD is aiming for a specific era and specific audience: namely, the people who were kids when the original Cartoon Cartoons were first run. Chowder is outside of that era. The only shows that I could realistically see being added would be Johnny Bravo, PPG, KND and Foster's, but PPG and Foster's have new shows in development at CN, so they won't be coming to Adult Swim since WBD doesn't want any overlap between CN and AS.
I think Toonami rewind will be an instant hit because I missed seeing the block as a kid but on weekdays and weekends like you said, however now it is strange that it’s on Fridays along side checkered past when it’s technically a toonami block at 5pm to 7pms. They need to air something instead of just reruns of king of the hill and American dad, why replace CP when you could’ve put Toonami rewinds on saturdays and sundays.
It feels ridiculous how they think they need to overair the Fox toons instead of doing what you mentioned (putting Toonami Rewind on Saturdays and Sundays from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM or put it on right after Checkered Past)
@@maverickhuntermeta4954 if they decide to do Toonami Rewind on Saturday, either get rid of King of the Hill, or have the schedule be Toonami Rewind 5-7, King of the Hill 7-8, Bob's Burgers 8-9:30, American Dad! 9:30-11:30, Rick and Morty 11:30-12, Toonami 12-3:30.
I think it’s great but like you said I don’t watch Cartoon Network on the weekends anymore either, I stop watching toonami 5/ 6 years ago too, like who wants to watch toonami at 11:0 pm CT nowadays?.
Technically, it is. At this point, the Adult Swim name is starting to have less meaning and could eventually dissolve into Cartoon Network altogether much like how it was in the 90s: Offering content for both kids and adults.
I thought of that, but as a Saturday morning block to make the block more accessible to people with strict curfews that prevent them from watching anime at midnight. Now that Toonami Rewind is happening, it's unlikely a Saturday morning Toonami will ever happen. Ever since I got the DVD sets to the last remaining Naruto Shippuden episodes, I made it a habit to move my weekend morning anime live-streams to Saturdays assuming there are no other cable-first anime dub premieres. I made the transition, but with Ninja Kamui premiering on Saturday/Sundays I had no other choice but to live-stream the episodes behind the Toonami broadcasts. My purpose of Toon Time Theater on the NGO Twitch channel is to make Toonami's programs more accessible to those that can't stay up to midnight, and thankfully more options are available on both Cable and Live Stream platforms. You can check it out if you like Toonami or all things anime.
[Adult swim] still has the licensing of King of the Hill and Bob's Burgers because that's why they're not getting rid of those shows just yet, Give it some time. It worked out with Family Guy and it will do the same with the other shows. All 3 FOX cartoons I've mentioned are already airing on other networks such as FXX for example.
@@sigvifDude, One Piece has become so popular now that it outsold Dragon Ball. What are you on about? Almost everyone talks about it more than DB. So yes, it is a missed opportunity to include One Piece in the block to attract viewers who want to get into it while the main block airs the more recent episodes.
@@sigvifMind you, this isn’t an attack on DB since I love it as well. I’m just pointing out the numbers. To say people don’t care enough about One Piece is just balderdash when it’s extremely popular.
Man, I see a lot of people saying checkered past should be replaced with toonami rewind. I’m glad toonami rewind exists with airing old anime while new anime is just….terrible but checkered past still should exist, you can barely get to watch those kind of stuff plus the shows are entertaining there and I want to see how good they are and I’m enjoying it so much. Replacing checkered past is just wrong, it’s what keeps the spirit of CN still alive and it shows what CN used to be and kids can get to see what it was like plus you can pretty much still watch old anime so Toonami rewind should just stay on Fridays
I like the idea of Toonami rewind Being 5 days a week But I don't really agree with the Sunday block Because when football season arrives More people will be turning to the NFL To watch the games there On Sunday Oh adult swim trying to compete with the NFL with Toonami rewind It's not a good idea The ratings will be super low They decided to put it on Sundays The good thing about it If it goes on 5 days a week Does we all know adults wonders and have nothing on those 5 days Minus Saturday night But the regular Toonami Block
if they keep airing old shows like Sailor Moon & Dragon Ball Z, I hope this means they'll finally bring back other old shows for final seasons like Teen Titans & Ozzy & Drix.
I just hope it’s done well because DC doesn’t have a good track record of continuing old shows. They thought Bruce Timm alone would make good Batman projects, but most of them were bad or even tasteless. Looking at you, Killing Joke…
Toonami original timeframe vas 500 pm to 700 pm Monday to Friday 1997 to 2005 in 2005 toonami 700 to 11 pm Saturday knights til 2008 and midnight run 2001 12 am to 100;am 2012;toonami from 12 to 600 am or 11 30 pm to 600 am Sunday morning toonami rising sun 800:am to 10 00 am Toonami was also on kids WB in the early 2000s Toonami on friday knights from 500 pm to 700 pm is a great idea But toonami from on cartoon network vis a better idea cancel adult swim and only have Toonami from 500 pm to 600 am Monday to Sunday
I like Checkered Past, but they're barely doing noteworthy with it at the moment. They just keep airing the same popular episodes, though I understand why for Dexter's Lab since the later seasons weren't well received. They should swap out the shows regularly to keep it fresh.
