Thank you Jordan. I am 2 years in on my pickleball life and have had to work on several of these issues. I was too wristy on dinks. Poor shoulder turn on ground strokes. Wrist not laid back(my old sports are squash and badminton, no tennis). I improved all of these but sometimes regress to my old habits, so having this video is helpful to be mindful of what might be causing a new problem that pops up for me. thanks. If you don't mind saying, where are you in this video? I recognize the Concord location when you are there, but I don't know this one. Maybe you are at a tournament somewhere. Thank you

Can you do a video for tennis players making the transition? Top 10 things that doesn’t translate from tennis… 10 things that does translate? I’ve just made the transition and I’m realizing that it is a totally a different sport. It seems like that mistakes are amplified in PB (especially in singles). Love to hear what you have to offer.

You say “loose grip” I’ve been working on a very tight grip as I’ve had many mis-hits due to the paddle spinning in my hand. Maybe if I did the other items correct I wouldn’t need a tight grip? Or Maybe I need a different size grip on my paddle?
@primetimepickleball
@primetimepickleball 2 года назад
hard to say without seeing it. Grip on the looser side when you're hitting a swinging shot. when dinking a bit firmer and when blocking a bit firmer than that...roughly.

Any good drills for improving 1. Paddle Head Pointing down 2. Late Contact Point
@ldeue4837
@ldeue4837 4 года назад
if your contact point is late, it usually mean's your timing in general is late, ideally you want a swing that when super early you hit extreme crosscourt, with proper timing you hit down the middle and with late timing you hit down the line. If you practice hitting the ball cross court, you should start hitting the ball earlier.
@RR-od9jm
@RR-od9jm 4 года назад
Try without a paddle tossing the ball over the net bending your knees and all trying to hit a target. Usually when tossing, your release point is out in front of you and having more of a stable wrist. You’ll notice when tossing you’re not turning your wrist in like when pointing the top of paddle straight down. And if you if have someone returning the ball back to from tossing it, catch the ball out in front of you. Always seeing the ball out in front will help with muscle memory, visually and physically. Remember though muscle memory can take somewhere between 1000 to 10 000 reps especially to break bad habits. Once you feel comfortable put the paddle back in your hand and hit the ball as if your tossing it. I’m assuming you’re using the continental grip. We do this drill for beginner tennis lessons to develop a contact point out in front and to help keep the wrist from flopping around. Be relaxed, hopefully this might help your problem.

Non volley zone. The zone from the net to 7 feet away from the net on each side. can't step into that zone and take the ball out of the air (as a volley). unique rule to pickleball that makes it so fun.

Your video was helpful, but your advice on #2 (too much wrist) and #8 (wrist too rigid) seems contradictory. I guess it’s a matter of stable but not rigid, loose but not too loose.

Great video with examples of both good and bad form on a number of strokes However, I think it is important in each video not to assume players watching know that the continental grip is the one most recommended. Seems like many players do not use this grip . Your instruction clearly shows why this grip is so effective , but I think you need to verbalize it more..

After the return, I do my best to get all the way up to the NVZ. Maybe you are referring to when I am coming up to the NVZ after I hit my 3rd shot drop? In that case, it may take me a shot or two to get up to that NVZ line.
