black christmas (2006) is my favorite but i do acknowledge its pretty bad, but i remember being so obsessed with the trailer every time it played on tv. i was so obsessed with it that i was actually upset when some parts of the trailer werent even in the movie!! i just watched it again last night and im still haunted by the never before seen footages in the trailer!

the scene in a Christmas Carol where the evil santa reveals the creepy children under his robe was so scary to me i support the classification as a horror

Now Krampus is a movie I wish was rated R! I absolute love it as is but I just want more blood! 😭

We all know the scariest horror movie is Home Alone.

It's not a movie but the Tales From the Crypt episode "And All Through the House" is a Christmas horror classic.

My favorite is 2018's Anna and The Apocalypse. It's a British Christmas zombie musical and I love it! I've listened to the soundtrack countless times.

I discovered Better Watch Out shortly after it came out, and have watched it religiously every December. I have yet to meet someone who has seen it before I've told them to watch it, so thank you for including it!

Anna and the Apocalypse is fun as far as zombie slasher Christmas musicals go! I know-tons of competition on that genre. I’m not a huge Christmas movie fan but I love horror Christmas movies, so this list is great 😊

The Lodge was SO brutal and disturbing and definitely warrants a trigger warning. I was NOT expecting it to be that intense and it is not rewatchable lol

I'm a screamer when it comes to horror movies, however, I fell asleep on "Conjuring 2". Surprised to see it on the list but I respect your opinion.

Earlier today a friend recommended me "Better Watch Out". When I saw it was described as a "home invasion movie" I told her that's not my cup of tea. Now that I'm watching your review I'm changing my mind and adding it on my list!

The 2001 2D animated Christmas carol scared the BEJEEZUS out of me as a kid and I still think it’s super creepy now, so I can see where you’re coming from with the Jim Carey one lol

I agree Conjuring 2 is the best. About three years ago I watched the first 3 Into The Dark and didnt like it. First was one going well until the middle but my favorite is definetely the 2nd one.

To give some insight as to why people who don't watch horror movies watch your vids, to begin with I actually didn't realize some movies I've watched are still considered horror. As far as legit scary movies, I used to watch them, but I got more scared of them as I got older, and my hubby can't stand scary movies. It makes it more difficult to watch them, plus it seemed like I reached my threshold around 2009... they do keep trying to make them more scary and I've heard that happens to lots of people as they get older. I want to watch them, but the adrenaline rush is just too much now. So we live vicariously through others, yet still wonder what movies we know of are all about. I came across your channel because I recommended Sleepaway Camp to a RU-vidr that does "Bad Movies and a Beat", and then watched reviews of it to see what ppl think about it lately. Then somehow ended up in a rabbit hole where I saw mention of "A Serbian Film" o.O For some reason I watched a few reviews of it or you mentioned it in one of your lists... I kinda regret even watching reviews and I'm into all sorts of crime documentaries where these things actually happen for real. I actually watch Robert Welsh's Ghost Stories and Makeup series because I miss being able to watch scary stuff, but I can handle ghost or supernatural stories. But it was fun looking at your fave 90s movies in particular, because I think I had seen all but one... and I was surprised how many I still saw in the 2000s. I didn't realize House of Wax was older than I thought and even that was hard for me to get through, so I'm skeptical if my wimp ass can manage Krampus.

I always love your videos, great to see this list! Your last video was on gatekeeping in the horror community and in this video you mentioned ‘The Lodge’ isn’t horror. IMDB lists it as a drama/horror/thriller and I definitely thought it was horror. I always appreciate how much effort you put into your videos, I’ve definitely added some new ones to my watch list after this video :)

The literal subtitle for "A Christmas Carol" by Dickens is "A Ghost Story of Christmas" because it was a tradition to tell ghost stories around the fire at Christmas (can we bring that back??) So calling it horror tracks. Also, the way Christmas Present "dies" in that 2009 movie is NIGHTMARE FUEL so yes, it should count.

i think the lodge is totally a horror movie! it’s disturbing as hell, and just because there aren’t insane gore/jump scares/supernatural elements doesn’t mean we can’t include it in the genre! we gotta embrace it all! psychological horror is some of the best! 🌟 great list, sarah 🎄💀

On the Christmas Carol theme- 2019 version staring Guy Pearce. Definite horror vibe & I luv the spins they put on the traditional telling.

That version of Christmas Carol is one of my favourites, for an animation it really captures how it feels when you read the book. Its bleak and the ghosts are pretty creepy. The one that tops that for me is the 3 part series the BBC did last year, that is my number one favourite Christmas Carol and probably my favourite Christmas thing to watch. If you can get hold of it I would recommend its fantastic, there were a few complaints about the swearing at the time but it's a take on the story that feels more real to me than any other version. I've watched it 3 times already since November 😂

The "Better Watch Out" movie is that Levi Miller from "Pan" and Ed Oxenbould is from "The Visit" which I like. The babysitter Olivia DeJonge is probably from "The Visit" which I doubt.

Oh my goodness haha a Christmas Carol!! My family took my younger sister and I to see it in an IMAX movie theater and it terrified her!!! She started balling and screaming and my mom had to leave with her a couple of times 😂

There's actually a really good loose adaptation of A Christmas Carol from 2019 with Guy Pierce that I'd count as a horror film. It's much grittier than most adaptations and it has some spooky moments with a beautifully gothic look. Plus, Andy Serkis plays the Ghost of Christmas past. I highly recommend it!

Yes 1000 times to A Christmas Carol being a horror movie - I just watched this last night and was saying to my husband how much of a horror movie it is - the entire ghost of Christmas yet to come segment is horrifying and there’s a generally morbid and somber tone throughout. Real London Dungeon vibes. I love it.

when i was young, my aunt and uncle took my cousins, my brother, and i to see a christmas carol performed on stage a week or so before christmas. i was so terrified of marley and 2/3 of the ghosts (past and future) that i had to turn around in my chair and have my brother tell me when it was safe to look again. a christmas carol is definitely spooky af.

Omg I'm dying that you brought up A Christmas Carol. My dad tried to put that on the other night for my 4 year old nephew and I was like NO ITS TOO SCARY. I've seen it twice, one when it came out (I was 12) and then again when I was probably 18 or 19 and yes it scared me both times.

Far from a horror movie but my one *must* watch every year around Christmas will always be National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Such a classic.

I know this is an old video but I had to comment on a Christmas Carol because it is one of my favorite novellas. The story by Charles Dickens is actually a lot creepier than a lot of the adaptations. It was a tradition in the Victorian era to tell ghost stories at Christmas so Dickens wrote one.

I agree, If you're getting into Horror, Krampus is the one. It was the first 'official' horror I watched in the year it came out and I've never gone back. Its really fun
