I think at least Night Stalker and Cloudy Mountain are definitely going to get a recharge remake soon since Atari owns Digital eclipse who made unfinished remakes of Cloudy Mountain and Night stalker originally for the Amico. So it's likely that they can just finish those two up, maybe do some extra tweaks and boom.

what would be really cool is if they made those games exclusive to the VCS and launched a massive marketing campaign for the system. nintendo is too settled on their lees. they could use some competition.

@oxygeninterface eh, honestly that would be a bad idea at this point. The VCS is three years old at this point and it likely has already had its sales peak. I highly doubt making two remakes of two Intellivision games the majority of gamers never heard of, exclusive will really make the VCS a huge hit at this point.

I really got to give Intellivision credit. They tried so hard to push games beyond the 2600 level of graphics, interface, sound and color, all while just barely having more power than the 2600. I still say I was born at the perfect time (1970) to experience all this gaming awesomeness from Pong until today. What a ride it has been!

I SO wanted an Intellivision for DnD (Cloudy Mountain) I hope they release the original and a recharge for sure.

I definitely agree with many of your choices. I would also like the Intellivoice games like Bomb Squad, and Space Spartans to be considered. I know it will likely never happen, but I would love to see Atari get their hands on Dreadnaught Factor (Activision) and even Microsurgeon (Imagic). Microsurgeon reimagined or recharged could really be made to shine. Also, I would love for Atari to recreate the INTV controller with the 16 direction disc but with the side buttons utilizing actual switches rather than mashing on that membrane. Now that I'm an old man the pain is even worse on my fingers. If only the Long Play Disc Controller had used that smooth membrane for the disc, it would have been a fantastic replacement for the INTV controller. Fingers crossed. 😀

Great Video John. I know you said your not big into sports games on this system but I would love to see game statistics and league options for NFL Football. It was simple compared to the later 16-bit college and pro football games but it was a lot of fun. I never had an Intellivision but I had the Super Challenge Football version on the 2600. My friends and I had leagues and we literally tracked stats on a legal pad as we played each game. Fun Times:)

Recharge is cool. I think the fans do better. Taking Atari games and porting them to Commodore with updated graphics. Star Wars Empire Strikes Back and Activision games was a great example. I personally would like Thin Ice to be on the NES with the updated NES look. Call it Duncan's Thin Ice.

My favourite Intellivison games was Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Treasure of Tarmin, Shark! Shark! and Thunder Castle. Treasure of Tarmin was truly advanced and really ahead of its time.

I agree with you. For me Night Stalker, SNAFU, Astrosmash, Utopia and Vectron are the more iconic games of that good old times. Good honor mention for B-17 and Utopia, of course

It just goes to show that pretty much anything recharged COULD be good . The question is - Would they sell well just based off of the handful of people that remember the originals and fans of the Recharged series ? Certainly more people have at least heard of the current Atari Recharged titles . Most of the Atari Recharged games were actual Arcade games .

There's a serious strategic question posed by the "rotary disk" controller of the original console: should the Intellivision revival be based on a modern spinner, old fashioned paddle control, or… ?

I would've included Space Armada. But there may be a conflict with Atari on this one since they have their own Space Invaders. (But I like Space Armada better. 😁) I also would've included Tron Deadly Discs, even as "Deadly Discs", without the Tron license. However, I would prefer to throw that disc with an Amico controller.

My favorite Intellivsion game hands down is Tron Deadly Discs. I would love to see that game recharged. I know it would have to just be called Deadly Discs but that game could be upgraded for sure. I also love Worm Whomper which I don't remember seeing on any other systems.

There were a bunch of games Atari did 3D remakes for the Xbox 360 era, and that was pretty cool. The gameplay is timeless, so a little modernized presentation could be added. And I think that'd work for some Intellivision games I'd say.

Curious to know if the 200 games were just legacy titles or if it included games that were being developed for the Amico. No idea how far in development some of those games were but they did show dozens of titles and some of them might just need a little bit of polish before they get released.

Of that list 0 games should be recharged. Sure do an intelly mini with 115 games on it. Put out the amico version of Cloudy mountain and nightstaker but have the Judas Priest track Nightcrawler as the theme tune or do an Atari 50 style compilation. What not to do is put out a version of recharged Frog Bog and then say it is cutting edge.

@@johnhancockretro Just noticed those sprites were used in most Intellivision sports games. Thanks for informing me. I barely know much about the old consoles, started my journey with 4th Gen.
