@@TheDeadzon3 fujin has been a long standing request, but the company has chosen a visionary direction where they add more and more pantheons without "properly" expanding on ones that already exist
Fun fact: Benzaiten is a Japanese version of the Hindu goddess Saraswati who is the god of Music, Knowledge, etc. The reason she is considered one of the seven god's/goddesses of fortune is because she is the sister of Laxmi, goddess of wealth. The two sisters give the message that knowledge and wealth go together.
It is praise worthy that Anime writers based all of their stories on real Japanese culture. So hearing all of this familiar names make me want to study and know more about the Shinto gods/culture. Good way to spread the mythical knowledge of Japan through Anime.
I am glad that this came up since I have been looking into Japanese Myths including their Gods and Goddesses and out of all them, I can relate to Amaterasu the most since I am interested to know more about the Japanese Goddess of the Sun and Universe.
I was pretty much counting how many I remembered from Okami....Amaterasu, Susano, Orochi, Ninetails, Princess Kaguya. Then Izanagi from Persona 5. Then recalled from my childhood Sanga God of Thunder, Kazejin (green), Suijin (blue) from Yu-Gi-Oh as those sky gods on clouds. They are also depicted in Pokemon as those gods on clouds/dragon/bird forms. Also Raiku (thunder) and Suicune (blue). Raichu (thunder). Apperently rai means thunder from my guess. Then in Digimon World 3 the 3 bosses prior to the main one were similar to those 3 cloud gods. They are everywhere.
I love Raijin and Fujin, especialy the Japanese depictions. I love to do a drawing of raiden (Mortal Kombat)in the J depiction w/ the string of drums and a golden demonic mask, maybe even w/ a white (or a more exotic color) fox at his side, could be Kool! ;)
@@KJetixsSuccessor It's a 3rd person MOBA where you play as different Gods/Goddesses from different pantheons, to name a few they've got Gods from Norse, Greek and Japanese mythology and yh it's a good game even if you don't like MOBA's there's and arena game mode.
@@KJetixsSuccessor Supernlate to the party. But yeah smite is a super fun game where all the characters are derived from different cultures such as Egyptian, Japanese, Chinese, Norse, Mayan, and so on
Bub even in SMT/Persona games, Izanagi get's the short end of the stick compared to the other Japanese Gods, I don't think theirs even a proper demon version of him aside from his Persona counterpart. (Not counting the MC from Megami Tensei who is Izanagi's reincarnation) Meanwhile, Izanami has been in Soul Hackers, both SMTIV games, and Dx2, and Amaterasu, Tsukayomi and Susano-o have been featured in nearly most games. Who knows, maybe he'll get a proper form in SMTV, for now Persona 4 is all he gets.
@@IzumiSafi Yeah the Megaten series has THE largest collection of Japanese gods in any media (as well as Hindu Gods), I'm surprised they haven't showed one image or video of any of the Demons of Megaten.
I wanna see a assassin's creed in Japan. That would so cool to play and go around Century Japan, Also having Samurai's and Ninja's fighting. I believe in Amaterasu!!!
What about the Iron Goddess of Mercy, variously known as Kannon, Kwan Yin, Guanyin, Avalokitesvara, or Kwannon? She's venerated by Buddhists for her compassion. There is some overlap between her worship and the Virgin Mary in Catholicism. And most importantly, she's the inspiration for my favorite type of oolong tea, Ti Kwan Yin.
Thanks for all the interesting facts.. Pls make a video lik this for Hindu gods n goddess pls.. We hv so much connection with Greek and Japanese myths..
Hello. I am Shradha S, an Indian student pursuing my Masters in English Literature. As part of my course requirements, I have to submit a research paper and my chosen topic is 'The evolution and assimilation of Indian gods in other cultures. During my research, I came across the connection between Saraswati and Benzaiten. I'm looking for more information on Benzaiten and the Minarukane festival. I'd be great if you could help me. Hoping to hear from you soon.
@@AmericanAppleProd The Morrigan, Dannu and Dagda would definitely be on it. Cerunnous may be on it somewhere. Who else would be on it? Artio maybe but she's not as well known.
Is anyone aware of what music is played in the background? Tried to find it out, but nor google, neither spotify, not even youtube doesn't know it. And I couldn't find it in comments.
FYI: It's pronounced Amaterasu not Amateratsu... SU not TSU. Oh, and the Ise Jingu is not one of the most important shrines in Japan... it is THE most important shrine, period.
Just a thumb up for narration. Gosh, what a challenge to pronounce all those words. I'm not speaking japanese at all, but sounds good (you do great in French too).
This comment section in a nutshell: - 60% Naruto fans saying they're experts - 39% Persona fans saying they are also experts - 1% Smite fans who acsually know a lot more than both naruto and persona fans combined
According to me I liked these 5 Japanese Gods and Goddesses who are most important. They are 1. Amaterasu 2. Benzaiten 3. Raijin & Fujin 4. Sarutahiko 5. Izanami
