Matt Wallace I’m not really a Washington fan either lol but I am a Chiefs fan and it’s pretty hard not to root for Alex Smith after what happened to him.
THE BEST QUOTE: "Man that's deep, maybe you shouldnt mess with the Terrible Towel as an opponent" Raider George Atkinson, who never stops talking smack on the Steelers.
Yeah, I noticed that, too. Atkinson never misses an opportunity to bash the Steelers (as one should expect from someone who so ferociously competed against the best era of Steeler football), so for *HIM* to say "Hey, maybe don't disrespect the towel"... That means something.
My number #1 Tradition: Recording any game I want to watch. Staying off social media until said time. Fast-forwarding through the 10k+ commercials so the game doesn't last four hours.
All good traditions, but here are some I propose. 1. Throwback Thursday. Wear the throwback uniforms in your Thursday night game. 2. Throwback cities. If your team has had multiple home towns, play one of your home games there in the years you have 9 home games. 3. More international games in North America. Every team has that 17th game. Play more of those at neutral sites. 4. Expand the playoffs to 16 teams. Each team gets a week off and then it’s a 4 week season to the title. Also, this would facilitate “bracket-ology” becoming part of the NFL.
My favorite tradition in the NFL is how they scam the tax payers in cities to build new stadiums for Billionaire owners for a team that will play maybe 6 or 7 home games. AMAZING tradition. .
1:42 NFL Cheerleaders. 6:11 The old BLACK HOLE! 9:05 Pre-Game Huddles!!!! 13:16 The Flyovers!!!! 16:06 The Terrible Towels!!!! 20:56 The NFL Mascots. 24:15 Celebrations! 29:30 Tailgatings. 33:59 The NFL Thanksgiving Football! 39:02 Super Bowl Sunday!
#10: Cheerleaders are always eye candy. That and they are lovely to see. #9: To think that Star Wars inspired it. That's cool. #8: The huddles show how motivated teams are and it's awesome. #7: The skies are always the limit. They always are. #6: Disrespect that towel. Pay the price. #5: Sucks that mascots aren't as popular but I wish they bring a return someday. #4: Endzone celebrations never get old. #3: Tailgating eh? Yeah. It's pretty cool. #2: Thanksgiving Football is always a delight. You can never have one. #1: One game. One moment where everything stops just for that. It deserves the #1 spot.
Glad you didn’t say invented, but I can say I’ve tailgated in KC and in Green Bay I’m from Wisconsin and the only differences are the colors and choice in food but absolutely both are incredible experiences.
My favorite tradition is crying after the Vikes lose in the NFC championship game and saying "we'll get them next year." When I die I want them to be my pallbearers so that they can let me down one last time 😂😂😂
Seth Maki Strangely, that’s one of my favorite traditions as well but I’m slightly confused as I’m a Packer fan. Probably not the same reason it’s one of my favorite traditions I guess. PS My favorite announcer moment related to this is Paul Allen ripping some QB for the worst pass ever at the worst time ever costing the California Raisins a fifth trip to the Super Bowl.
Don’t worry my friend I’ll make sure you make it into the ground no matter the cost. This was all in good fun as I lived your nightmare from 1973 to 1996.
@@bumpusjones.1978 that same QB had a few tragic NFC championship games himself wearing your jersey too lol At least no Packers receiver has been awesome enough to have an opportunity to moon the Metrodome/Bank crowds 😂
@@sethmaki1333 wow I missed this reply your right no Packer receiver has ever mooned on the field because they have been busy playing in 5 SB’s and winning 4. But wear Randy Moss’s ass with pride.
The last 5 or 6 weeks of the regular season are great. You get Thanksgiving AND Christmas, the weather starts to get cold and snowy in some places (leading to the fun snow games), and the games mean *SOOOOOOOOOOO* much more than the first 5 or 6 weeks.
When I think of Pittsburgh traditions, I think of this smiley cookie and then oakmonter there’s also the Jolly Roger. There’s also the terrible towel and then Pittsburgh pierogies.
You've heard of teams that win based on the first play of the game mentality, or the coin toss sets the tone. The pre game huddle absolutely is of the same ilk if you have the right leader speaking it can cause that unity coaches desire. There's great ones listed here, along with others that weren't mentioned that happened following this recording/airing like those great Seahawks defensive teams ("We all we got we all we need") and maybe the most famous of the recent modern era was baked into a Madden intro with Drew Brees and the Saints. My personal favorite I remember seeing as a fan thats specific is Seahawks under Jim Mora Matt QB Hasselbeck demands of his teammates an end to the losing streak and to use that game as impetus for a turnaround. A fiery speech from a player we don't associate with that behavior. I think they beat up the Jaguars 41-0 that game following that speech which was very unlike the Seahawks Mora era.
My favorite traditions as a CHIEFS fan: Tailgating, Tomahawk Chop, Bomber Flyovers, Loudest Stadium (atmosphere), KC Wolf and the home.... of the... CHIEFS Traditions of the NFL: the rivalries, the shit talking and every fan knowing it's ANY GIVEN SUNDAY on game day
Ironic Tarkenton calls end zone celebrations disrespectful-the guy who started the whole thing (Homer Jones-first player to spike the ball after a TD as shown in this clip) was his teammate with the G-Men from '67 to '69.
They like to say they dont use natural grass in green bay to save water and be green... Really they just had the problem of catching their fans grazing on the field
@@Thrashman-ye4cf I get what you mean. But I understand what original post meant. No draft night in sports comes close to the intensity the NFL draft offers and when you think of NYJ fans booing their teams pick for example each year it feels very traditional.
I usually wonder why a video like this gets a thumbs down my only thought is why more folks didn’t put thumbs down as #7 is a hot button issue. Not with me, with others. Isaac no offense towards you in anyway way or anyone more observation than statement hope that’s clear.
Are Oakland-Raider fans going to be welcomed by Las Vegas-Raiders fans is the black hole going to have a prison atmosphere or that of shady acres retirement home.
Hector Rodriguez I’m clear on that I live in Milwaukee and we have two groups of stupid clueless morons one that is spending their own money suing to keep Miller Park from changing its name not understanding why it’s called Miller Park and another still trying to stop funding a baseball stadium not understanding that the Tax that helped build the stadium is no longer being collected or not realizing that the building that they are picketing in front of is the one they are protesting to stop construction on. A new stadium means little though as the Bucks opened a new $500 million dollar stadium last year and rumblings are starting from ownership about upgrades. Not two full seasons in with the best player in the world on the team and we’re already hearing murmurs of discontent from Billionaires.maybe your better off with out them in the long run.
Isaac Green I didn’t lose sleep or anything but your a good guy and provide an excellent experience here it was gnawing at me a little. Thanks for removing my angst.
james harris hits a qb low and against the rules...but gets away with it..yea do not fuck with the terrible towel...steelers,patriots,cowboys....also a good story this year...ur the champ!....unless ur the cowboys
Okay, I - the easily triggered, long-suffering St. Louis Cardinal fan - have to inject some perspective again. Damn it! The Cardinals had the Thanksgiving Day game from 1974 through 1977. That, of course, is ignored. (Well, they did get trounced - except for one close game against the Cowboys - and ruin my holiday EVERY YEAR. . . . .!) At some point, the NFL needs to consider picking someone other than the Lions to host the Thanksgiving game because they are terrible. What is on the line in late November when the Lions play? Nothing, except maybe the first pick in the next year's draft.
So let me get this straight. Cheerleaders and mascots made the list but the Lambeau Leap didn't??? " I think we just enhance the intensity of the game." No honey, the correct answer is cheerleaders do absolutely nothing for the game, and that is not an exaggeration, it's a straight up fact.
