This one isn't really 'creepy', but I think this one is kind of weird. Grimer's Pokedex entry in Alpha Sapphire reads: "Grimer emerged from the sludge settled on a polluted seabed. This Pokemon loves anything filthy. *It constantly leaks a horribly germ-infested fluid from all over its body.* " So, Grimer's body isn't the sludge? I thought the possibilities could be... -There is a solid body under the sludge -Grimer is just sludge emitting more sludge -Grimer's inner organs are emitting the fluid, and are suspended in it or -I'm really overthinking this
Fun fact: Spoink acts as the ball launcher in Pokemon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire. Usually it stays in place bouncing slightly to keep its heart going. However, when you draw back to launch the ball, Spoink will stop bouncing and the sprite will turn slightly red, implying that its blood isn't pumping. And you thought it was just pinball
There's this theory I made: Cubone's egg is made. The mother, weak with childbirth, takes a rest. The mom watches the Cubone born. The mother remembers what she did when she was a child and braces herself. The Cubone, with instinct, attackes it's mother. The mother, already weak, dies. Cubone snaps out of it, and realizes what it's done. Cubone mourns forever, wearing her skull and wielding her bone as a reminder of what's it's done.
***** In the game, and specifically in the origins special, cubone and its mother interact. If cubone wears its mothers skull, the mother would be dead.
Watch the origins movie, they show Marrowak's head (Which clearly looks like a skull...) when she's alive. Cubone had a skull there. It makes no sense if Marrowak is Cubone's mother ,also... Cubone will never kill its own mother. That theory sucks.

I'm only about a minute into this video but i thought I'd say that Xatu's ruby pokemon entry creeps the shit out of me incase you don't say the same thing. Lol, I remember, when I was younger, Duskull was my fav Pokemon -it still is one of my fav. Another tragic one like Spoink I would like to bring up is Slugma. It's Gold Pokedex entry says "It never sleeps. It has to keep moving because if it stopped, its magma body would cool and harden." So does that mean that like Spoink if it stops moving it will die?

I think duskull is misunderstood. I think it told someone that once, and they drew the wrong conclusion. He wanted to be a magician, hearing the cries of happy children in the crowd.
Pokemon are actually based off Japanese Shintoism and if you look into Shintoism mythology, there's actually a lot of creepy, scary and downright dark, so it'd make sense for Pokemon to carry over some of that creepiness

In generation 3, it talks about how Team rocket killed Cubone's mother right infront of him/her, and Cubone wears in memory of his mother. What really disturbs me, is that in the evolved state of cubone, the skull FUSES onto his face.
If I wrote one for Kadabra it would be... A boy woke up and felt stranger than usual while he was getting dressed he noticed his body morphing but thought it might have been some type of rash so unaware of his changing he went downstairs to eat some cereal it was just when he was about to take his first bite when he fully changed into a pokemon commonly known as Kadabra
I can so see that being an extended version of Kadabra's pokedex entry. But I have a question... If Abra evolves into Kadabra... does that mean the "boy" in the pokedex entry is actually a Abra?
Cubone looks astonishingly like a [baby] Charmander, and the skull it wears even have horns resembling those of a charizard! I know the whole "it dies if its flame goes out thing" would kinda rule it out... but it is also said that the flames vary with its mood, burning brighter if it is happy and healthy. However, WHAT IF the intense sadness it feels along with malnutrition, since it lost its mother, is enough to create an exception so that the fire can go out and yet it keeps living. It wouldn't be new to the pokemon world to have feelings change a pokemon (usually evolutions, but still). I think it is a possibility worth considering...
I've had my own theory with Cubone. Female Cubone/Marowak are only capable of bearing one offspring in their lives, so the only way a female could survive is by being infertile or just plain refusing to mate. Still, the game makes you wonder, since when you breed it, even the female, it doesn't die. That's why my theory is pretty much exclusive to the anime.

The "Indian Elephant" theme was actually a reference to when an Elephant was used to show how dangerous electricity could be. I believe that Tomas Edison did the display and he killed an Indian Elephant by using volts of electric shock...which was of course, in public, in broad daylight, with an audience
I know Pokemon can at times be morbid and sad, but this is the kind of stuff that is thrilling to kids. It's fun and relatable, while it's also at times sprinkling some spooky and bizarre stuff here and there. Is it just an American mentality that children should be shielded from everything real in the world? Not to mention that many cartoons that are seen as more kid-friendly actually depict horrible violence and mutilation. Tom & Jerry, anyone? The Road Runner? Smashing another animal flat is okay, but telling a story about a pokemon that mourns its mother is too much? Why don't we just censor Bambi while we're at it.

When it comes to Cubone, I always had the opinion that the Story of the Pokedex entry has to be from the first Cubone that existed. All the rest were created through breeding and recieved their skull upon birth.
NessaSamps I know that places like Antarctica technically qualify as deserts, but ignoring them, and the slightly chilled deserts found on the steppes in Asia, while the desert does cool at night it is far from "very cold". They can have great fluctuation based on seasons, but Black and White did have a seasonal system, and the desert was just as hot in the winter as the summer.

Well i am done with the creepiest.... IDIOTIC: Parasect -- It scatters toxic spores from the mushroom cap. In China, the spores are used as herbal medicine. SADLY: Stantler -- Stantler's magnificent antlers were once traded at high prices as works of art. As a result, this Pokémon was hunted close to extinction.
I bet things work like this; Banett finds a child that looks like the one that threw it out, and signals Drifbloom, who takes the child to Drowsy. Banett knocks the child out and Drowsy eats their dream, while Duskull listens to the childs cries. THIS, is how Pokemon work XD.
Here's a something interesting remember in Pokemon The Origin it showed Cubone running from Team Rocket. Cubone was already wearing its mother skull but its mother was still alive. Cos it showed up to protect Cubone. So why was Cubone wearing its mother's skull if it hadn't been killed yet?
Not so much creepy but weird. Absol: Every time ABSOL appears before people, it is followed by a disaster such as an earthquake or a tidal wave. As a result, it came to be known as the disaster POKéMON. It's one of my favorite pokemon. :3
Nukoia its mega evolution has wings... pretty disturbing if you take your idea on board... the disaster happens, and absol evolves wings as if to fly into the afterlife :) ... or maybe your guardian angel after you die form the 'disaster'

Leonardo Basso Mega Kangashan evolved differently then a Cubone which would be why they look different. Though, it is just a myth people draw about Cubones being a baby Kangashan that lost its mother based on its creepy pokedex entree. The similarities in size and circle marking on both the baby and Cubones tummy does make it a believable theory, to me at least, and I think the pokemon creators had that in mind but tried to mask it after people started drawing conclusions.

I hate it when people call Pokemon a "Kids Show". It's a Japanese anime that America has make "Kidy" just like with the American versions of Cardcaptor Sakura and One Piece. With the game though, some of the more Japanese anime themes can pass through easier, and make it into the English release of the game.
Here's my simple theory about cubone. Cubone is a baby charizard that ran away with it's mother's skull and a bone in sadness. It arrived at a cave and after a few years it adapted to the massive weakness of being a fire type in a cave filled with rock and ground types.
Cubone is really a Charmander that is wearing its mother's skull, a Charizard skull. Due to its sadness and the feeling of already being dead inside (because its mother died) its flame on its tail went out and no longer can use fie type moves like before the death of its mother also, the hue of its skin dulled because of its sadness.
So... a charizards head is about as big a charmander? ... I don't think so, Unless you gave me exact evidence of this... I don't think cubone is a charmander...
Decided to watch all of your pokedex videos on a whim today and wow it's amazing to see the difference between these videos and your new ones. Obviously 12 years makes a difference, but its still cool to compare the differences.

I dreamt once that I was taken by a Drifloon. I ended up in a valley in Johto surrounded by rock walls, it was full of Drifloon and they were all very kind and cuddly. I was left on a ledge outside of a cave's opening however. And I was watching myself from a bird's eye view. Everything looked like Gen. 4 graphics.

My friend gave me pokemon diamond, and it was my first pokemon game. And when I started the game I didn't restart to see what pokemon he had, and it was 1 duskull. Then I restart the game to have my own data, and when I went to choose a starter, there were 3 duskull. Ever since that day, which was 6 years ago, duskull has been my favorite.
Are you sure these are from the Japanese versions though? The American translators always screw up and improvise on many of the subtitles/quotes to fit the American market. So if anything's quirky, it'd probably on those translators from the licensing company.
well we do know the original gen 1 glitches were pre-programmed into the game for the first 100 or so released so there's a chance it's not just the translators

In the pearl entry, drifloon attempts to kidnap kids, but ends up getting tugged around. Like a balloon. On the other hand, it is able to succeed at kidnapping in other versions. One of these things is not like the other! XD

Pretty much every bloody pokemon in black and white is so weird and just flat out scary. Shit like stealing children's souls, to tomb raiders being stuck inside of sarcophagus... I use to like specializing in ghost pokemon until I started reading their pokedex entries... Really puts a damper on my love for dusklops...
