Top 4 Performance MODS Yamaha WR250F. These are the performance mods I have done to this 2020 motorcycle. I spent a little bit of time and $20 in total and the results are AWESOME!
I've done the same mods with one difference. I actually dropped it down to a 49 tooth sprocket. That's smooth out the low end grunt some. It made the bike not so lurchy or jumping forward in first gear. It also smooth out all the gears giving it just a little extra time in each gear and a little more time and. I can still lug around in the tight trails really good. And have a more top end.
I was unaware of the intake choke until just recently. That released an animal from within the bike. I can see it handling that 49T sprocket really well.
@@Rally_ADVentures I went to less teeth from the stock sprocket I can't remember the exact number now. But it stretches out each gear makes it smoother. And much smoother at low technical stuff. And I love the extra top end. I saw several people in the forums and online doing the same thing. It makes first and second gear much more usable. To me anyway. And when I uncorked it I was so surprised to put giant smile on my face.
I’ve dropped mine down to a 46 rear and upped the front to a 14 , I find it awesome on gas too , just over 200 kms to a tank now. top gear sits really nice at 100kms / quarter throttle
Holy choked up! That's crazy that it's so restricted. I saw you insta post and I drove out that way yesterday with the fam and passed right by that spot. Changing the rear sprocket was one of the best things I've done to my bike. Nice video!!
I’ve done all the usual free mods from the throttle stop to removing the air restriction and the exhaust restriction. But my latest notifications have turned my mild-mannered bike into a beast. Of course I started by adding the GYTR competition ECU and CCU. Then I swapped out the exhaust pipe to a YZ250F exhaust pipe. This has really changed the sound and performance of my WR. I got my YZ pipe from a friend but I see them on eBay all the time for right around $125.
I've had my eye on the GYTR competition ECU and CCU. Was your YZ250F exhaust swap both header pipe and muffler? I've been around a YZ250FX and at first, I thought it was a 450 because of the loud, quick and aggressive sound it produced.
@@Rally_ADVentures I only swapped The muffler and with the few minor adjustments it fits perfectly. I actually wanted to get the FMF 4.1 muffler but it doesn’t seem to be in stock anywhere in North America. I will make a short recording later today of what my WR250F sounds like with the YZ250F exhaust. I have added a link to a video of my WR250F with the YZ muffler. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zWoXH5pfhCI.html
You can go a bit further with the air box and cut the backfire screen out leaving only the plastic frame. Aus delivered model comes stock with comp ecu/map switch and “uncorked” as yours now is and cutting the backfire screen out 100% increased throttle response and a small power gain. Easiest/cheapest power upgrade now is a yz 19- exhaust as you mentioned the stock pipe is a restriction as is the standard WR header pipe. Ecu and map switch with aforementioned mods and your pretty much at YZF specs and will not be short on power.
With the current mods I’ve done it’s more awesome than ever! And there is still more!?! Intake screen, YZ exhaust, ECU and map switch. It’s the little 250 that could. Thank you for your insights.
Good day, please confirm that all the mods were done without the GYTR Competition ECU kit and does not affect the lean/rich aspect of the motorcycle. Keep up the good work
All those things are removed at the dealer from new in Australia 🇦🇺, we also have the racing ECU and Wifi module standard. If you want more power get the racing ECU and Wifi module so you can change Ignition timing and fuel mixtures and throttle % opening and rpms ! A YZF muffler is shorter and less restrictive , if you want more replace the WR250F air box with the 2021 YZ250F air box boot !
You get a way better version of the bike in the land down under. I’ve looked at the ECU addition. Do you have the map switch on your handlebar? I can’t imagine how much more power the little 250 has in it. Uncorking it changed it immensely. It’s like a whole new bike and way more fun to ride. I’m curious about the 21 intake boot.
