Trust me those ads were definitely made with black people approving them, we can actually laugh at ourselves and our politicians, the only reason most of them were banned is because they offended the poloticians!!

It will be very difficult for anyone outside of SA to understand these adverts but they are extremely well done and are appreciated by most in SA. We can laugh at our selfs!

South Africans are a lot more politically aware and many of these ads make reference to important societal and political issues present in South Africa. Examples include xenophobia, corruption in government & political parties, racism, inequality etc… Much of it might go over ones head without those political and cultural references.

In the last ad those are all 'dictators, terrorists world leader caricatures etc'. The main black character is Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe. The first is Libya's Gaddafi. The Asian is China's Mao Zedong. The scene by the sand dune is Osama Bin Laden and the last is Uganda's Idi Amin.

Phil F is right these ads are mostly inside jokes for for South Africans. But u can get the last ad if u Google African dictators especially Robert Mugabe and a Britsh movie called Dinner For One that ad is based these two things.

The second last one was making fun of Xenophobia because at the end even South African tribes disappeared. Basically saying if you chase away all foreigners then the country will be empty so embrace diversity.

we south africans know how to laugh at each others differences haha thats why we are so united!! we love each other all of us and we are all racist towards each other but not in the way you guys think.... sometimes we get angry with each other and want to piss each other off... some people are really racist... but no one pays attention to them but the BEST kind is when we can all do it to each other and laugh about our stereotypes! thats what brings us together!! I LOVE MY COUNTRY!!! and every person of every colour in it!! and im SO happy we are not so sensitive and we can laugh at each other :P

Please speak English and advertisements are pronounced advertissments. Actually you are wrong the advertising industry in SA is very diverse. Americans don’t get the humour. You need to reserve and articulate yourself clearly.

you'd be suprised, probably the ideas for these ads came from all South Africans probably Coloured Africans and black Africans were the ones who were pushing these ideas, isn't that just so wonderful?
