best ad ever are the Chicken Liken....they are no longer doing ads they are now making movies

So this ad basically comments on what the country went through during hard lockdown. The girl that disguises herself with a trash bag because she's out after curfew. The girl in the boot was found by cops when she was trying to smuggle herself to her boyfriend's place (inter-provincial travel was banned unless you had an official pass) with lockdown there was a lot of home fitness videos... That was one guy was really extra. Then you get the girl on the cellphone. Elsa, a comedian who gained fame during lockdown and at some point restaurants were all closed so people were attempting to make their own chicken licken because they couldn't buy it.... Even the song used in the ad was from a speech that our minister made that became a dance song. The narrator struggling to put on his mask was from a viral moment where our President did that after a lockdown related speech. Also the narrator of an ad is another SM comedian who makes skits as an American commenting on South African culture. Check him out. His name is Tyson Ngubeni

Nandos is grilled chicken and Chicken Licken is spicy fried chicken. Very different but both are very tasty

With the second ad ,its reverse colonialism. Because South Africa was colonized by the Netherlands (hence he colonized Holland which is in the Netherlands)

"Why is she in the back of the car?"....the trunk of the car is called a "boot " in South africa...during lockdown, people were not allowed to visit each other...therefore a woman was caught by police in the trunk of her boyfriend's car 😂

This Chicken Licken commercial was made during the national lockdown due to COVID-19. The first two scenes were of people breaking the curfew and hiding from the police. The trunk of the car is called the boot in SA. The song in the background is taken from the speech by Minister NDZ on the banning of tobacco products called 'when people zol" Tira is a musician (check his videos out) When the funny-speaking guy puts a mask over his eyes, he is mocking President Ramaphosa, who fumbled with an undersized mask on national tv.

The last ad the guy is portraying what is happening in South Africa with the lockdown and everything. Which was the harshest lockdown in Africa

You gotta know SA current affairs to get the first and last ads. Although they are food joints Nando's and Chicken Licken ads are best known and appreciated for their social commentary.

It's a bit difficult to understand Nandos and Chicken licken ads if you're not from SA...some might even get offended 😂😂😂

During lockdown we were not allowed to move in between provinces(states) so the guy was trying to smuggle his girlfriend into another province hence the girl is in the boot

Nandos is a Portuguese chicken restaurant/take out spot, they have the best juicy chicken. Chicken licken is similar to KFC, but better in most peoples opinion. Nandos ads are always talk about the current situation in our country, their ads play a joke on serious issues. Turning all that we deal with into humor, some of their ads actually get banned because the topics are so true.
