Spirit Island! Brittany has to give it a try. It is my wife’s favorite Coop game and we primarily play it as a couple. We also are big into Too Many Bones and using the new Root Clockwork Expansion to play Root as a coop

Tim Teigen I have Legendary: X-Files but have yet to play it. Bought it on sale. I’m a huge X-Files fan... Britt I think was too young for x-files :\ Too young to have watched it at it he highly of it’s popularity I mean.

Your #4 & 5 have been on my for couple co-op list for a while now. What keeps me from adding them you ask? Why it’s Tainted Grail and Eldritch Horror! Those two are our go to co-op games right now. Then we have Sleeping Gods and Isofarian Guard coming later this year. 🍻

Portland bfc That sounds like our list for next top 5 video, hehe 😉 after we play them of course. We’ve only ever played the prototype version of Tainted Grail. We loved it but it’s not gonna be official until we play the Full version a couple of times.

I’m not normally a fan of actor images on cards myself, that’s why I won’t buy the Arrow expansion for DC deck building game, but it never bothered me for the Harry Potter game. I think it’s because I didn’t come to know them as a drawings like I do with comic book characters.

Hello BGC!! My wife Clare and myself have just started to get into board games and watched your videos for inspiration. So much so that we went out and bought the Harry Potter game, really looking forward to playing it, and we are already searching for others you mentioned too!! Just a quick question, I've heard of people putting the games' cards into plastic sleeves, but the ones I have found say they aren't to be used when shuffling them. Do you have any recommendations for which to use and which to avoid? (could make for an interesting and useful video!!) Thank you!!

There are a wide range of card sleeves available. I used to buy the more expensive ones when I played magic the gathering, but when It came to board games like Marvel Legendary that have hundreds of cards, that route would’ve been way too expensive. So I’ve gone to Amazon and purchased sleeves in bulk that were of a cheaper brand. And yes if I shuffle them too often the corners do start to split, but they’re so cheap that I have hundreds of replacements on hand ready to go. Still works out cheaper than buying the more expensive card sleeves.

Play Dice Throne! Its like yahtzee with cards. Hands down one of my fiances favorite 1v1 games. Id recommend getting Dice Throne season 2, It looks way nicer. There is a 2v2 so its sort of co-op......lol

If Brittany likes Fantasy then Gloomhaven will give you hours of coop adventures! I love Legendary but for some reason my wife never got into it (though she plays Dominion).

Great list of co-op games, and I love your rapport. I’m a recent subscriber, but I really appreciate your content and approach. That said, IMHO, this video is a bit mis-named. I can see three similar lists: (1) 5 best co-op games, (2) 5 best co-op games for two players, and (3) 5 best co-op games for couples (which is what you called this video). I would suspect that there would be a great deal of overlap between the three lists. But using the word couples, instead of two players, connotes something specific, at least to me. Sure if both members of a couplet are gamers, a couples list and two-player list would be identical/equivalent. And there are many such couples, and I know more than a few. But, many couples only have one gamer (like my wife and I). When I think of a list labeled best co-op for COUPLES, as distinct to a list of best co-ops for 2 PLAYERS, I think about how a couple might differ from two generic players. Specifically, one of the two might not be a gamer. So the couples list would focus on games that are intriguing enough for a gamer, but appealing and accessible to a non-gamer, and games that are not prone to quarterbacking by the gamer member of the couplet. Maybe I’m wrong, and it wouldn’t be the first time. But I’d love to know about a co-op game for two that requires two DIFFERENT skills/ways of thinking, which would allow both players (including a non-gamer) for feel like they are adding something to the game. My wife - her emotional intelligence far outshines mine, but I’m the logic/math/planner. She loves jigsaw puzzles, but I’m colorblind, so they scare me. I’d love a co-op gane that requires multiple sets of skills to figure out/master. Would you please do a list like that, assuming such games exist?

That's a great idea. Although since me and Britt are both gamers, I might need to borrow a none player friend that would fit that catagory. I think I know just the person. And now that lockdown is letting up, I might actually be able to do it.

Marvel legendary fell pretty flat for us unfortunately despite my high hopes. Pandemic we had fun with but I personally wasnt a huge fan...we have pandemic legacy we played once which we have to finish but overall a good game. I absolutely adore aeon's end legacy but my wife wasnt as big a fan....But I played it with a friend and we absolutely loved it. if you guys havent tried it however, as 2 more "gamers" type people, I think you are in for a treat. Im sot of curious about zombicide however...might be something we would enjoy. I do hate CMON however in general as a company! lol. Great video guys...very fun to watch.

Hey Mark and Brittany. This video is AMAZING. My girlfriend and I were deciding which cooperative game to try out as our first board game EVER! Once we watched your video yesterday, I bought Legendary on eBay and drove a 2-hour round trip to bring it home so we could play it the same day we watched your video, and we loved it of course. You guys have UNREAL chemistry. You probably already knew that... but I mean on camera too. We looooved this video. Me and my gf just kept saying 'these guys are too cute'. Please don't stop making videos! I could easily watch them for entertainment value, even if I wasn't looking to learn anything new. Would love to see you guys do a playthrough of Legendary against Loki or another difficult mastermind. Consider us fans 4 lyf. Lots of love from the UK. Rico

For me I really enjoy the more challenging schemes/masterminds that add another layer to the game. We are yet to beat Super Hero Civil War against Loki :o

We have lots of expansions, one of the expansions is called Dark City, we really like it. An expansion that we didn't like was the Fantastic Four. It sounds like you may like the game as much as us!! Chronological Disorder have you also tried the DC deck building game? It’s only cooperative if you add the expansions but the crisis expansion is really good. And when I say DC deck building game I do not mean rebirth. The original is much better than rebirth.

@@BoardGameCoffee My wife and I are loving it. It's the pandemic game but with character growth,. Also the board and rules mutate as the game goes on. I'd rather replay Pandemic legacy a second time than a regular Pandemic game at this point. :)

Legendary is a competitive game. Legendary Encounters is coop. Arkham Horror LCG is the best option.

Legendary is only a competitive game if you play it that way. Throughout the game as you’re playing you need to work together to beat the challenge, it’s only competitive if you’re playing for points at the end. We play it both ways, but decided to put it on this list due to the fact that we work together more to accomplish goals than trying to outdo each other.

@@BoardGameCoffee Legendary is a competitive game. You can change to way you play it but it's not meant to be played purely cooperatively, it lacks a lot in this department. Unlike Legendary Encounters or other games meant to be played purely cooperatively.

I’ve played it in groups where one or two players were out for themselves and it always ends up everyone losing.
