It’s only dumb in hindsight imo. At the time airplane/aerospace technology was all the rage and many cars incorporated airplane tech & design especially airplane engines into their cars at the tine. I could see how this might seem like a good idea at the time. I’d hardly think this is the dumbest idea at the time. Even today, it’s hardly the dumbest idea from the auto industry. The actually dumbest idea imo was the Ford Nucleon, a concept car from 1957 that was designed to show off a concept for nuclear reactor powered car under the presumption that such a thing could someday be built in a small enough to size to be suitable for an automobile. I hate to imagine what such might happen with it’s nuclear reactor in a major smash up.

That Divco Model A reminds me of the Union Pacific Big Boy. The American Locomotive Company (ALCO) produced 25 of these engines between 1941 - 1944 and served the UP for almost 20 years. After they retired in the late 50s, 17 were scrapped, but eight are preserved in museums in America. #4014 was restored to operating condition in 2019 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad. It is still operating today, pulling excursion trains.

Honestly, I would be shit scared to drive the amphicar! That propeller car just looks dangerous, and "crazy" was exactly my thought about driving the milk-truck! Finally, what's with the monosyllabic answers from Mr. Firebird guy?
my friends in Newtown used to have milk and eggs delivered by a Divco truck back in the late 1970's... thought for sure the Muster mobile was going to be on the list... watching you drive that thing really showed how odd it is
