Inflammation is a natural response of the body to protect us against harmful stimuli, such as pathogens, injuries, and irritants. However, chronic inflammation can lead to various autoimmune diseases like arthritis and diabetes.
One way to manage chronic inflammation is through a careful dietary approach, which involves avoiding certain foods that can exacerbate inflammation. Understanding which foods to steer clear is crucial in maintaining a balanced and inflammation-free lifestyle.

Great video, I would prefer no background music. Foods that give me inflammation in the joints are diary, tuna fish, wheat bread and calcium or a lot of protein like when I eat a can of tuna fish, the joints in my fingers get swollen.

I found that my immune system is especially sensitive to the first meal of the day (breakfast) which is when your gut is empty of food, esp. if you are sensitive to gluten and eat cereal or pancakes/muffins/waffles/toast for breakfast. Some people feel better if fasting from 8pm to midday and then have a big lunch because whatever 'bad' food you eat in your lunch will be diluted by the other foods. The AIP diet plan should be done by all AI patients to find out if you are sensitive to any foods. It takes 4-8 weeks for the first stage (cutting out all 'bad' foods) - if you feel much better, you can continue with the diet but then start stage 2 which is to slowly re-introduce a bad food each week to try to find out which ones cause flares. Flares are caused by eating/drinking something which triggers your immune system, it's not about eating 'good' food, it is about avoiding 'bad' food. 'Bad' food may trigger your immune system or may exacerbate a leaky gut and indirectly stimulate your immune system by allowing substances through your gut wall - but either way, it can cause flares and joint pain.

Interesting and measured👍🏻 I was reactive to sugars, gluten, tomato and eggplant peels not dairies, I did strict detox with green plants and eggs for 4 months, plus Curcumin and pepper. Today in full remission after almost 4 yrs, I had a severe flare up after a very stressful experience, almost died, went into hospital. Now, after 4 months of chemo, that caused lots of secondary effects, no meds since 2020, I now only avoid gluten, and just a bit of sugar occasionally. My life style quite healthy, exercise 2 hrs a day Monday to Monday. I’m a natural health practitioner and nutrition consultant, and appreciate you say it as it is‼️

I just watched this video where you addressed some of my questions (thank you!). I don't have a very good external symptom body barometer for foods I should or should not eat...or I'm not recognizing the ones being given to me. For instance, you mention gluten sensitivity or dairy sensitivity - I don't seem to have either, but my GI physician has convinced me to steer as much away from dairy as I can manage based on (UC, moderate-to-severe) colonoscopy results. My UC symptoms are managed with medication - at present, Stelara is the new one I just started on. The other symptom we have been able to improve is numbing in my feet (the bottom soles) where my PCP advised I get foot pads (totally not helpful) and my GI doc hypothesized my gut was leaking electrolytes. I began drinking (I found Pedialyte makes a no-sugar) electrolytes, which definitely improved my foot sensations. However, My PCP doc has warned me not to overdo the electrolytes, watching toxicity. I'm still trying to find the "best dose" of electrolytes as neither doctor has given me a good guideline since "leaking electrolytes" doesn't seem to be provable medically with a test. My GI doc was able to advise me to begin adding table salt to my foods since I was at the bottom of the scale - he warned me that to go lower was to risk seizures. (Side note: I was sent to a Urologist to check my kidneys - all seems well there. The Urologist did put me on Estradiol (a woman's hormone) for a couple of months (which also improved my energy). From what I can read, Estradiol helps relieve the adrenal gland? Perhaps you could go into the relationships between salt and the adrenal gland/hormone system in a future video? How much of this is common to immune system disorders?) While the Pedialyte helped restore some needed electrolytes, and improve foot sensation (go figure), my foot numbness is still not fully cleared up, but the sensation/numbness comes and goes. Something else that is undefined is contributing. I have occasional really annoying pain in the plantar nerve of the left foot leading to the left go (bottom of the foot for readers). This is so weird, what are your thoughts on what to consider further? Are there foods that can help with nerve function? I have for years avoided fried foods to keep my weight down, watched my sugar in moderation, and avoided what you describe as highly processed foods. I'll have to think about your definition of processed foods (I enjoy canned peaches, but it is hard to find them packed in water so I buy the ones in juice. Should I rinse them off and throw away the juice?). I also recently switched to eating soy vanilla yogurt instead of ice cream. Is Stevia a problem? I add that as a sweetener instead of sugar to my tea. Thanks in advance. I hope I've given you more topics for future videos.

The problems eating bread is that in America they process wheat by using roundup. The herbicide quickens the harvesting period. The herbicide also gives you a risk of getting cancer. Lymphoma. The problem is these large companies making these foods for us, so that they can sit on shelves and last for quite some time. If we went back to locally sourced foods and fresh foods. I’m sure we would have less issues with our health. It’s crazy to me, because typically diabetes is thought of as an overweight disease, but I noticed that more normal body type people are getting diabetes. Once you go down that road, everything else is haywire. It’s crazy to me that these large companies employ chemist that find the additive or the perfect ratio of sugar/salt/flavoring, so that we can be addicted to food. They are no different than the cartels pushing street drugs. The only difference is the legality of what they are pushing. The food and drug administration have companies that synthesize street drugs, and allow them for sale. It’s crazy how big of a racket everything is. But we keep prescribing in people keep taking. They feed us tainted food and drugs. And then they also sell a cure for it. 😑

That stuff is one of the nastiest there is and used widely here where I live as well. It’s hardly surprising why so many ppl get sick. Time to take responsibility for our own health and well being. Self sufficiency as well as communal, sufficiency I feel is the way to go. Small steps.. and vlogs like these help put it all out there. ‘Awareness’ is what most ppl lack until, something occurs to their health & they begin their search. I read somewhere we have to be the change we want to see. There’s a song I’m reminded of.. “for united we stand..” Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼

I have heard (on RU-vid, not from people I know) that some people can eat bread in Europe, thinking they no longer have gluten intolerance and return to the US to find that they can only tolerate bread in Europe. Turns out it’s the herbicide used that’s different. Also I think in the US we use potassium bromate and Europeans don’t. So that’s another difference. People who are sensitive and make home made bread would be able to tell better.

I am so glad I happened upon your channel. Very helpful information and I really appreciate the fact that you are speaking from personal experience as well as from your professional studies. I also like the calm and easy going way you present the info. I have psoriatic arthritis and find that wheat, dairy and emotional stress cause my flares more than anything else. I also am a 33 year survivor of Stage IV Hodgkin's, therefore, I have chosen to NOT take any meds for the PsA...other than Tylenol and an occasional Advil because of the potential side effects of those "big gun" meds . So, I am extremely interested in your info about treating these autoimmune diseases in a "natural" way. Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you for your videos. I am learning more about this condition. I am not sure what causes my flare ups. I am currently off wheat, but still have issues. I would prefer not to take methotrexate, but with the pain coming back more in different body parts I am now considering it. The worst part is when everything is so swollen up. I could no longer bend my knee it was so bad. After an injection it gradually went down 4 inches but is still swollen. I am not sure how to work out what is causing the inflammation. I have stopped the sugary treats (pastries), and bread. But have not noticed any change. Fried foods might be an issue, as I tend to have fried mushrooms for breakfast.

Great info! Sea salt and Himalayan salt have minerals and are needed along with magnesium and potassium. That could be a good vlog for all of us. We need to understand that processed foods don’t usually use good salts…
@onespeedlite
@onespeedlite 8 месяцев назад
From what I've read, Himalyan salt has higher amounts of minerals like Magnesium, Iron, Potassium, etc. than regular table salt, but the amount is so little you would have to eat POUNDS of them to get the daily recommended amount. If you lack those minerals, it makes more sense to take supplements of them. If you don't lack them, then you are paying more money for something you don't need. Technically, can you say Himalyan salt is "better". Yes, but it's mostly a marketing talking point than an actual health benefit that makes any difference.

@@onespeedliteA great presentation! I do have some thoughts that I want to throw in as my two cents.. * "Normal" table salt often is bleached and may contain a drying agent like aluminum silicate. You don't want this. A good thing is the added iodine, as many people are deficient in this. There are other ways to get your iodine, like in sea food, Kelp tablets (a sea weed), or a low concentration Lugols' solution. Himalaya and Redmond salts are free of added chemicals, but also are very low in iodine. * Talking about salt: animals in the wild walk miles extra to get it. Farmers in my country have blocks of salt for their cattle and their is no sign with it too warn them for overconsuming it. Salary comes from the Latin word salarium, which also means "salary" and has the root sal, or "salt." In ancient Rome, it specifically meant the amount of money allotted to a Roman soldier to buy salt, which was an expensive but essential commodity. If your kidneys are working normal, make sure that you get enough salt. It hardly increases blood pressure. Too little salt will make your heart beat faster than healthy and may cause "rubber" legs. * Fried food is unhealthy, but also seed oils and margarine. They contain mostly Omega6 fats and little omega3. You need Omega6, but it is inflammatory also. I threw out sunflower-, rape seed-, cottonseed, soy oils years ago. Good are virgin olive oil, coconut and avocado oil. Saturated fats have a bad name, but they are completely harmless. Grass fed butter but also lard and other animal fats and red meat are safe. We evolved on them from hominids to humans for two million years.

I have been having allergic reaction as of a spring flu all my life, everyone around me kept telling me that nothing is wrong with its just a psychological thing I have. But I knew that something was up, and by the time I was 21 I had so much pain in my gut and my allergy was going crazy. No doctor put a finger on it and all they told me was me having high antibody levels (IgE)which shows I have an allergy (I was also having some discomfort in my spine and my elbow &Knee joints) Then I've done a search from books and I cut some food, I felt healthy and no flares for a year, but then somehow I couldn't resist to some food and got all the reaction twice as much. Now for the first time in my life, I saw my knees swollen and my gut hurts a lot, I dont go to toilet for number 2 for days and I feel down all the time. So its probably time for me to start eating clean back again and make it a lifestyle, not a big deal but the real problem is that my family and my relatives are telling me I'm making a big deal out of this its just a thing I have in my mind and I should eat everything just as they do (they have health problems too, crazy) Hard to explain, I'm a molecular biologist and they refuse to think that I know something they dont. I hope to fix my body and I don't care what others think at this point, thank you so much for sharing precious informations

I can totally live with this.... I love how you say occasionally when socializing, but don't bring it into the home. I've been told by several Drs that I have severe inflammation. The advice ranges and sometimes conflicts. Go vegan. Try Mediterranean. Try keto. I, instead, claim this as my own journey in 2024 to find what brings healing to my body, and also helps me lose up to half my body weight over the next five years. I have no logical reason for the change in my metabolism that doubled my weight over 25 years. Diets don't help. If the inflammation recedes, maybe that will work. Thank you.

Hello doctor, really great videos. I have a question about quality cold. Press olive oil. Is that good for your body? I listen to a Cardiologist who says that we should be consuming between one and two tablespoons daily for a good health. How do you feel about that?

Everyone is different, different blood types too. I'm O positive. I fast 16/8. I can't eat certain foods as a result. Don't eat processed foods, or drink alcohol, or eat sugar.

Thank you for your very informative video. Your informatoon is clear, simple and easy to understand. Although it's difficult to give up these foods, bring inactive and in psin is dufficult as well. Eliminating these things little by little is doing able and easier than going fold turkey 100%. I appreciate your nutritional teaching. Thank youaldo congratulations on your acheivement. Thank you for being so honest in showing that you too are tempted by foods that nutritionists would not approve of.😊😊😊😊😊

I wondering if my breast cancer hormonal treatment anastrozole, which is an aromatase inhibitor, cause me joints inflammation. All started when I get into this treatement, this year. A lot of stiffness in my fingers and pain and stiffness in my heels when I get up. Ultimately, when I sitted in crossed legged posture in yoga practices i felt pain in my knee goosefoot ... just when I get out from that asana, just left knee....looks like the enthesis inflammation you talked about in other video. What do you think, doc? It is probable? Thank you! 🙏

I think it is more on being stressful caused your body to weaken and can no longer fight the inflammation. If your immune system is strong, your gut, colon, liver and kidney will be able to filter the bad foods.

What about if you become lost or unsure of what to eat, you could just do a rotational diet. Don’t eat the same foods in a week? I am confused because other than obvious, now I hear about “Oxalates” or “Night Shades.” So then that excludes certain vegetables.

Here are 2 questions: where is the balance of salt intake if one has low blood pressure and anemia and is encouraged to add more salt to their diet? However, they may have other undiagnosed autoimmune conditions due to the 5-month wait to see a rheumatologist?

I've been considering seeing a rheumatologist or neurologist for my plethora of issues. Rheumatologist seems more holistic from what I've seen. Do you think seeing a rheumatologist would be worth seeing If I have already tested negative for rheumatoid arthritis?

Can gluten be linked to acne? I have RA, but I also notice that I get acne when I eat more gluten (& possibly dairy). Also, do you have recommendations for RA fatigue? Really enjoy your channel, and thank you for this helpful content! 🙏🏻

Yes! Both gluten and dairy can interfere with hormones and cause breakouts. I had terrible acne til I removed those two now my skins is clear most of the time! I eat sprouted bread instead. And after I healed my gut I am now able to eat raw dairy (from careful and clean farmers!) and some organic dairy in moderation. Also goats milk is great too! Hope that helps!

I think I have written this in another video. I had a car accident and surgery on my knee and since suffered from posttraumatic osteoarthritis and chondromalacia but no doctor has been able to help me so a lot of research to help myself. No alcohol, no wheat products (i.e. bread, pasta), no rice, no sugar; instead replace with buckwheat, millet, quinoa. Lots of veggies, legumes and nuts (bell peppers, tomato in moderation and preferably cooked), lots of water and herbal tea. I use Himalayan salt because it is full of minerals, acv for my dressings, I supplement with Boswellia and a multivitamin tablet because there are periods where I follow religious fasting, and when I don't fast I also eat eggs and goat milk or sheep milk products but make sure they are organic as much as possible that is because they are pricey as well as fatty fish (sardines being my fav) Maintaining an alkaline ph in our body when suffering from autoimmune diseases is key. And finally when I flare I put a castor oil compress on the area. Love from Greece 🥰
