r/WatchPeopleDie was a big one you missed off, and would have been the only ban on this list that I didn't agree with, had you included it. It had a pretty tumultuous final year.

r/WatchPeopleDie was a very interesting one that I agree shouldn't have banned, as morbid as the content was, nobody was really glorifying it or taking enjoyment in it. Most of the choices here were for ones that had the most interesting stories, as there are a lot of other subreddits (such as a lot of the very racist ones) that didn't really have anything interesting happen besides them being offensive and getting nuked

@@ManyKudos Thanks for the reply, I'm glad you agree. Honestly that sub was super educational and supportive and nobody was glorifying anything, but more exploring the harsh realities of the world. It was the NZ shooting that was the deathblow for the sub. The mods worked so hard to contain the situation, but people can be awful, and the Reddit admins were having none of it. Such a shame to watch WatchPeopleDie die.

@@ManyKudos wait it got banned? With a german IP you couldn't open it and it would say banned for legal reasons, or something similar. But I didn't thought it would get banned... There is a morbid curiosity in everyone of us and personaly, since I have seen my fair share of bodies, I just wanted to see what I was maybe getting deployed into. I learned shooting the G82 in sniper school and will always remember the Videos of one militian dude getting hit by a .50 cal bullet. If you can't deal with this, war isn't for you, was what I got out of it.

It was ultimately a women who made a post in a different subreddit about SA and r@ping her (as a fetish as I understood) and cross posting it in the incel subreddit. It was reported and the subreddit was finally taken down. The original post existed in it's initial subreddit for a time.

r/incels is one of the reasons why I can't stand how the term is being misused nowadays. Most people really don't know what true incels look like. It's like using the naz word on everyone you don't like. The term eventually loses its meaning. I was part of a small true incel group on Facebook. I basically tried to share tips on how to gradually improve yourself etc and many would immediately say I was 'coping', block me or report me for being either a woman or a Chad trying to sell them PUA stuff. I deactivated my account a few weeks later because that toxicity was ruining my perspective on stuff. I joined to have some fun and see their perspective, but then I started to feel bad for the guys. They were so overly frustrated and angry for no logical reason but "me ugly-toxic-uninteresting-aggressive man, why attractive woman doesn't want me". But the more I tried to help the "hardcore" members, the more I realized there was no turning back ("soft" ones were open-minded, tho). These guys are so deep in misogyny, hatred and frustration that even if a perfect looking girl approached them, they would still mess up because of how these guys would look at their girlfriend. Another important thing is that they also hate MEN WHO GET LAID. They non ironically can't stand them. I'm glad you mentioned such a post when talking about incels. Many people think incels think girlfriend-having dudes are heroes but it's the total opposite. On a hate-scale from 1 to 10, women are a 10 and dudes with GFs are a 9. I always get called an incel whenever I say "hey, this man is definitely not an incel. Stop overusing this word" when I see internet people calling a guy complaining about his ex or stating his preferences, an incel.

Yeah I use reddit because I like the destiny (the game) subreddits like r/destinyfashion but basically everything else sucks hell even those subreddits are toxic as hell. Once I posted a joke about being the first person to open a chest and a shit ton of assholes showed up.

Probably cause it wasn't a toxic community. That sub helped me through some dark times- watching accidents and things to see how easily and quickly you can lose someone, made me appreciate life more. I think a lot of people assumed it was just a bunch of sickos wanting to see messed up things, and sure maybe some were. But overall most people seemed to be compassionate and there for a reminder of their own mortality. Now trying to find that kind of stuff elsewhere you come across the most disgusting communities I've ever seen, so I just don't anymore. I really do miss that sub. It's fucked up but it helped a lot of people.

If you are easily offended don't even visit the site. There are several apps that let you browse on your phone such as mimi reader and read chan. I had a shoplifter friend that just casually stole food and drinks from store/cafe near our campus, he literally would just walk in and grab whatever then walk out. 100% they should have gone down from the start, in many places just sharing or taking unauthorized pics of children is a crime, same with creepshots as of late in the UK.

I can understand the law being lenient based on intent (allowing pictures in science textbooks that would be illegal otherwise), but the law should never be more strict based on intent. If the picture would normally be allowed, you can't make it a crime based on intent. That is way too easy for the government to abuse.
