The new KILL THE CON MAN-Rainbow Coalition slaps hard. Also, new metal with horns sighting: VULGAR ADDICTION-Figures In Black, Mexican thrash blending styles sung in Spanish.

When u ask about nostalgia, the only thing I can tell u that last couple of days I've been on nostalgia trip with the 1987 debut of Dream Death "Journey Into Mystery" - riffest like no other, truth is they reached metal perfection back in the 80s, these days we're just trying to emulate our dads

Interesting indeed to see a Symphonic Black Metal album without guitars (most probably not the first case I believe) & I believe it does qualify as Metal...Pronounciation wise (though hard to say here), I'll go for "Lechan du Azar" & that's it ! hope it helped, Cheers (& maybe you can put some names on the side some of these names for a future live show together, how about that ? -I have themes ideas we can discuss on Dm/Insta if you like), Cheers & have a nice week end !

Shittier/Slimier by Wharflurch is an amazing record. The type of death metal that's actually original and memorable. Album feels like a cosmic journey

Les Chants du Hasard is dope af! He made a full on black metal album titled "Hasard - Malivore" and it's legit the only thing I've ever heard that's as scary as Akhlys! Dude's a genius.

For me, this week was all about CONSTRUCT OF LETHE, RIFFLORD, AKLASH, VORAATH and KARV. Another great new album cover was from EVIL DISORDER-Evilution, which turns out to be another killer new South American thrash outfit from Bogata. Awesome new thrash. There was a flood of tiny badass EP's and under-the-radar releases from CODEX MORTIS, BLOD, BATTLE SNAKE, GRIMOIRE, BURIAL EXTRACTION, GRIEVINGS, PHANTOM, DEMERSAL, PRACTICAL GORE, BRUTALLY DECEASED, GASKET, FEED THEM DEATH, and FANGUS. Still cant get ahold of the new DISCIPLE BC or ANOTHER DIMENSION records, though.

So, I've listened to Kvaen a few times through now and there's a lot more going on here than Black Metal. To me it's more like a Blackened Melodic Death Metal. The guitar solos are very much in that vein and when they really get going, this album crushes you at times as well. Great pick Jon😎🍻🤘

Speaking of Les Chants du Hasard, there once were a project called Elend, that released an album called 'The Umbersun' back in 1998, that already then combined menacing classical music with insane black metal-ish screams and NO electric guitars what so ever. It remains one of the darkest, most oppressive and sinister albums ever made; it sounds like the unofficial soundtrack to the end of the world! Check it out!

lay shon du azahrr - as an English guy with pre-college level French - leevre cahrr i mean, it's not standard transcription but i don't know what those bloody dictionary symbols mean anyway. also, i reckon days of the new were heavy. for the '90s.
