@@tyanathriller Aw, unlucky. Only crumb of comfort I can offer is that Starlys (Staravia's included) between them together are quite common. It's nice Legends does give you that boost just like the original games did with this (eventual) amazing Pokémon.

I caught a lvl 55 shiny onix from a distortion storm, but I didn't have much time because the storm was gonna end, and there was a alpha lvl 72 weavile and a lvl 50 ursuring. Just as the storm was ending I threw my luxray in time and battle with all 3 in them. I lost my luxray a few turns, but managed to beat the ursuring and weaken the weavile. I then switched to my typhloshion and used flamethrower on the weavile, but it used strong style night slash and nearly killed my typhlosion, then the shiny onix took it down with rock slide. I had lopunny next and used a drain punch to kill the weavile, then I only had the shiny onix. I used agile double edge and just BARELY made it red. It landed a crit and it still lived. I then threw 3 ultra balls and I caught it. Needless to say, I was so nervous but happy I got the shiny:p

I remember getting my Shiny Gastly right by the corn fields near the starting camp in Crimson Mirelands, I didn't even know where it was and I found it eventually only to find that Shiny Gastly is very similar looking to its regular form. Needless to say, I now have a Shiny Gengar thanks to him and I called him Geist.

Well 1/4000 roughly, odds of an alpha is like .87% and after some research on google its like 1/8000 or could be more!!! Im shocked you noticed it 🤣

Assuming Level 10 dex, its about 1/200k for a rare spawns to show up alpha and shiny. When looking at the odds of gengar specifically its about 1/1mil. 1/2048 for shiny and about 1/100 for alpha plus gengar is 1/5 pokemon that can spawn (im not sure if it has a different chance than the others so an estimate). If you had shiny charm it would be about 1/340k. Also the quickest way to find out odds for something is to find the individual odds of the events and multiply them. Base Odds (1/4096)*(Alpha Odds)*(Spawn Odds for the Pokemon) = 1/X Dex Level 10 Base Odds (2/4096)*(Alpha Odds)*(Spawn Odds for the Pokemon) = 2/X If you want to add things like shiny charm or outbreaks that increase the number of rolls, add the amount of rolls to the numerator. For outbreaks, you get 25 extra rolls. With shiny charm you get 3 extra rolls. For example, if you were to find an Alpha Shiny Piplup from an outbreak with Level 10 Dex and Shiny Charm the process to find the odds would be: (2/4096)*(1/100)*(1/1) = 2/409600 Add extra rolls: (2+25+3)/409600 = 30/409600 Simplify: 1/13653 **Note that (1/1) was used for the Spawn odds because Piplup is the only Pokemon that would spawn from a Piplup outbreak lol**

@@BigMike12 While what you said seems right by the rules you're applying in your first line, this isn't level 10 dex. It shows it is his first catch of one, meaning it had 0 in the resarch level. That my friend is a full odds monster he found.

I know the feeling! About a week ago when I started the game, not even an hour into the game, I stumbled upon a random full odds shiny Shinx. I swear I repeated "That's a shiny!" like 4+ times that night before actually saving my game and grabbing it. Stayed on my team for the entire playthrough as a shiny Luxray. Was quite the way to come back to the Pokemon franchise after having finally gotten bored of it after SwSh (still sunk a fair bit of time into that game, but after that, my interest in the franchise took the sharpest dip I've ever experienced, and I was convinced I was just straight up done with Pokemon). Pokemon Legends Arceus as a whole has REEEEEALLY surprised me, and the shiny Shinx was a LOT of extra icing on an already fancy cake.

I found a shiny graveler in an ore deposit. I threw my torterra out to harvest the stones and the shiny noise played before the graveler actually spawned. It caught me off guard cause I thought it was a pokemon somewhere off screen until the battle with Graveler started lol

Nice to see that the top spots are people who found shinies full odds/randomly compared to outbreaks where even though it's not 100% you can get a shiny there, you'll still going to end up getting it eventually if you know how to manipulate it and the odds to get one is so high as well.

I went for Eevee mass outbreaks and was split between aiming for an Alpha eevee or a shiny. An alpha popped quite fast and i chose to pass it to redo the horde. Next horde had two shiny eevees. ^^

I think my best shiny moments so far are the Random Full Odds Shiny Ponyta before having one star rank on the dex, the first outbreak Shiny Duskull and Voltorb (which i like both), and the Full Odds Alpha Shiny Blissey. Some great moments.

Hunting for shiny Pokemon in this game is so awesome. Here are my Top 5 shiny catches. 1) Getting Shiny Alpha Gardevoir at Alabaster Icelands on just the first Massive Mass Outbreak soft reset! 2) Getting my first Shiny Eevee at Alabaster Icelands (evolved to Sylveon). 3) Getting my first shiny Dewott in a MMO at Alabster Icelands, evolved it into shiny Hisuian Samurott. 4) A rare DOUBLE SHINY Aipom catch at Obsidian Fieldlands as they appeared just a second apart! 5) Getting my first FULL ODDS Shiny Alpha Blissey without even trying to hunt for it at Obsidian Fieldlands!

I was at the summit camp, taking a break and restocking after getting thrashed repeatedly at Spear Pillar by *(You-know-who followed immediately by You-know-what)* and found a full odds shiny Luxray on the way back up to the Stone Portal. I was on my way to an Eevee outbreak when the alpha Rapidash nearby was shiny! Full odds! Named him Hades :D Also got a random Drifloon and a Budew in an outbreak, and these three were all caught within 24 hours of each other! The rate in which people are getting shinies in this game is insane and I love it!

I just want to say that when the pokeball only "shake" once it means a guranted capture, i think because everytime i saw someone or myself throwing a ball and having a single shake it was a guranted catch.

I got so many shinies but one memorable one is I was riding around near the snowpoint temple and I heard a sparkle. I saw a glimpse of someone teleporting away so I thought I lose an potential shiny abra so I just run along. While two pokemon kept targetting me I saw a different colour kadabra and i immediately knew its the shiny I missed. I also die trying to get it
