Dear friend You really make us to drive our attention towards the mistakes we are making for sure as I was doing too Thank you so very much for your precious advice and making this video to help ❣️🙏🙏🙏 Aarti from Lucknow Uttar Pradesh India
I am starting Print on Demand, learning from mistakes. One that really puzzles me is I made a Harriet Tubman design from a template on PlaceIt, altered it, of course, but it was taken down from Spreadshop due to copyright infringement. My niche is Christian inspiration, so the Harriet Tubman design was a good fit, or so I thought. Are designs based on dead inspirational people subject to copyright issues? Thanks for your tutorials. They sure help us rookies.
From what I know, it depends on time. How many years have passed so the copyright changed to public, that's when people can use it. In some cases, such as artists' names and their works, it might still be under copyright laws and it might extend to family members, so if they don't accept it's not accessible for use. I think that's the case for Elvis.
Hi Greg, I have a question on copyright. I make fan art of anime to be specific I use AI to generate anime designs of popular characters like Naruto . Is it going to be a problem in copyright? Again these are not some images taken from the internet, it is specifically generated by AI on commands.
I would recomend looking that up with the company that "owns" The characters, from my understanding it depends on the specific character and owner of that character. I am new to this, but found out the hard way, did as you, and made an AI-design that I wanted to look "Hello Kitty"ish, but I lost my entire shop due to copyright issues on that one😅 looked it up, and apparentley the company owning Hello kitty, is very clear with not letting anyone use their characters or even something looking like them 😏 So look it up, before loosing your hard work - lots of Good Luck and profits to you 😊⭐️✨️
Is it worth doing POD if I just occasionally do a design. I do sports photograpy and for now I got a local sports team championship shirt I want to make. Should I do POD or another option
Hey no worries, it usually takes about a month to start seeing sales on average. More on that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BRdK2GGOxnA.html I don't have mentorship for Print On Demand, only Affiliate Marketing at the moment. But I highly recommend watching these videos if you haven't seen them to try to help you get sales faster: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3W_Uv3RhDd8.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oWh4PP68RsE.html
Hey Greg! I have a question that if we have uploaded a design on one website, can we upload same design on other websites, or we have to upload some other design for other websites?
Hi Greg! Hope you remember me. It would be really great, if you make more deeper video about niche selection. As merc by Amazon is not going to accept most new sellers. And 2nd the keywords SEO. I think this can be your next topic.
I do and I will! Great suggestion 👍 Here's my closest video for now, it's how I find my niches, it may even be enough to get you going in the meantime: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3W_Uv3RhDd8.html
Thanks! I don't offer any services like that unfortunately, but this is my whole process if you want to see how I personally do it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oWh4PP68RsE.html
Thank you Greg, I'm hoping to create a supplement to my age pension. I really appreciate the time you have taken to share your experience. It will be an interesting learning journey. And hopefully one that pays in the long run.
Great choice of business model. Between print on demand and affiliate marketing I think you'll be able to really bump up your income. If you run into any questions just let me know! Here's some more on both business models if you need it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oWh4PP68RsE.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rWNLsoNoNbY.html
And I have one more question if that’s ok, I created my first design using PlaceIt following your tutorial (very helpful thank you) but just wondering at what stage do I apply correct sizing was it within Place it? I mean how and when do I make the design the right size (so that it is then accepted on the PoD websites you mentioned?)
Thank you so much for doing these videos. I’ve learned so much from them. I have a question about advertising. Do you recommend getting a Stan store and putting link in it for Teespring or other locations where you’re designs are sold?
No worries I enjoy making them and the comments like this with gratitude make it all very fulfilling. I don’t think it’s necessary. I’ve done it both ways and now I rely solely on the organic traffic from all the big POD sites. They get so much on their own and if you have the right niches and keywords you will have no shortage of traffic. A couple really helpful videos for this are this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3W_Uv3RhDd8.html and the Full Print On Demand Tutorial for 2023 (sorry I don’t have the direct video link on hand)
Hi Greg, I’ve been looking at the same t-shirt design website as you and noticed some artwork that’s labeled as “inspired by blank”. How can we handle artwork that is clearly based on a trademarked item, like an anime show, but are not the characters from it?
Technically yes we can use it because it's considered fan art so it's still original work. I don't usually use any designs that are close to trademarked items just to be safe, but technically it's OK to do!
Dang.. They are hard to get accepted into but I can only say good things once you're in. I don't think they have a blackball system, at least not that I've hear of, so if you're able to I'd keep trying. Frustrating I bet, but well worth it once you're in.
I'm just getting started. My perception regarding uploading enough designs is as follows. I'd be interested your opinion on this. In 1 or 2 videos you mentioned expected income to be approximately $1/design/website/month. It seems that that might only apply once 'enough' designs are uploaded since (after looking at the avg. profit/sale is) it occurred to me that this expectation necessarily takes into account that some/most designs don't sell every month. As an example, if one were to upload 1 design to five different POD websites the formula might not work in the short term because of economies of scale. 100 or 500 designs uploaded, I believe could solve the economy of scale issue and one might see the formula above working. Does that seem correct to you? Just trying to cement in my head proper expectations and thought this sort of thing may help others as well. BTW, in terms of timing.. I'm not expecting to see any $$ until April. How's that for not setting myself up for failure?! Either way I'm not going to be a statistic (quitting) as some newbies seem to do. Thanks for all you do! -A
Greg thanks another great video really helpful I was guilty of three of those mistakes thanks to you I just started my print of demand business last week with spring, Im gonna get 3 more going after I watch your tutorial again thanks do much be blessed.
I have a question. I created a book and I want to publish through KDP. My question is, how do I go about being a seller that qualifies as a prime sale? Meaning when someone searches for my book and they click prime only how do i get my book to be in that categori? Please help I can't find the information anywhere. Thank You much appreciated.
Another very helpful tutorial, Greg. I'm in the process of moving to a new home but in about a month I intend to get deadly serious about this because I am very excited; by all the possibilities your kind, focused detailed extrapolations of all the information that you can think of - that we need to know - gives to us. But, all things in due course.
I have created six print on demand designs but all designs were failed. Can you please give me some tips to create good POD design concept? How to select colors images etc?
I think I've got a couple videos on that, let me grab some links: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zkABaud-EXo.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1gszGtQJjQ0.html and this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3W_Uv3RhDd8.html should cover it all 👍
Hi Greg, my son Gregor (yep Greg for short) is super talented in drawing, but how do I transfer his artwork from paper into a T-shirt design in a computer? Many thanks
Hey Greg! very important question. In terms of scaling and really making money is social media like you suggested required? Or is it simply a matter of getting as many designs out as possible considering the websites you recommend do marketing for you?
I have made a few designs that hint at popular or well known songs while making them apply to a graphic. I plan on posting those ones today so I will let you know if I get in trouble.
What are you supposed to do if you’re rejected by Merch by Amazon and can never in your life be a part of it? I love how you always mention it but don’t talk about how low the chances are for acceptance.
No worries, you can reapply as many times as needed with different emails. I've talked to many people who got in on the 2nd or 3rd try, so keep at it and you'll make it in!
@GregGottfried hey Greg! I once saw you say that you shouldn't put tshirt designs from different niches in one store front. However with sites like teespring and redbubble it seems you can no longer create multiple storefronts. Do you recommend just creating an account for every new niche you design in? That's what I was thinking, but it sounds a bit excessive
Do I have to use text? Currently I am using AI to create designs. Could I be successful? Please respect me with this answer. I love all of your videos and they are so helpful!
Great question. It does not have to be text, but I've found text designs always sell better for me. I'm not a fan of AI designs because of the possible copyright/trademark infringement issues that are seeming to arise with those designs.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3W_Uv3RhDd8.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oWh4PP68RsE.html are why POD is not saturated. Hope that helps!
