My favorite thing about this video Wheels is how real you are, you mention companies youre not sponsored by. I watch several other Pros when they do these monthly style bait videos and they all only mention companies they are sponsored by. You the man!

Hey what's up, new to the channel. I'm going re-watch this video tomorrow, but I appreciate all of the bait suggestions. I've moved to VA from CA and just now getting into the VA fishing scene, so it all helps. I've always been a top water/crank bait guy but looking forward to learning more of the plastic/swimbait side of fishing out here

Thanks Jacob!! A northerner here from the mid Wisconsin area and when everything else fails we break them flipping jigs (swim jigs) and beavers out! In the summer that is, thanks a lot for the video I love learning new things and the tying tip is a big plus, love it! never new that would make a big difference in hooksets… got a tournament to fish Sunday up here, hoping to find them! Best of wishes to you next week as well! Great content and looking forward to seeing more!!

Thanks Jacob. That was a great learning video. You went in depth with the bait and your set up too. I very much like the way you used the lake maps to give examples of where to fish them. You went from faster moving baits to try to locate the bass, to pitching right to the beds. I'm sure everyone has learned a little something from this video. Good luck with all your tournaments and be safe on your travels.

I watched the entire video as I do for every video that you put out and , you are the real deal , just the game about the flipping hooks and the bed fishing and not using a bopper stopper,, there was plenty of more game and I also wanted to thank you because my hook up ratio has definitely came up and definitely catching way more fish by just listening to you and if I could ask one favor and that's to never change from the way you are

Thank you. Stuck it out to end so leaving a comment. I was pleasantly surprised that most of what you have tied on is also tied onto my rods right now. That gives me a little more confidence. One thing I'm doing different this year is running 15 lb on most of my bait cast rigs instead of heavier line. I believe it helps with casting distance and is generally less prone to those mystery line twist knots. I'm using 10 lb on my 6"8" med fast spin cast rig and also have a weightless senko hook on it. Great tips. Thanks again.

I like the advice on just a straight crawl for a bed fish. I'm using a straight crawl profile with just a EWG jig head and a black crawl and it's done really well for me this spring so far. See I just hearing that simplicity and you actually saying something I know is true is pretty awesome to me so yeah I like watching all your videos to the end.

Much appreciated Jacob, learned a lot and I really liked the swimbait portion of your video- the hows, what, and where after talking about the baits itself (the Arashi, the Mayor, the Magdraft,) and the under spin( after bass spawns and the shad spawn begins). I’m a newbie to bass fishing , into it for a year now and caught 35 total so far (bank fishing), until I can get a kayak, God willing, then I can really go live.

Another great and informative video, Jacob! I’ve been using the cleanup craw since last month, and it’s been a game-changer. Unlike other craw baits, which either failed to attract bass or were too soft, your design proves to be remarkably durable. The claws withstand more than just one bass, which is a significant improvement. I’m also convinced the impregnated scent plays a crucial role in attracting bass-something I hadn’t experienced with other baits. Additionally, incorporating the VMC crossover ring into my wacky and Neko rigs, as you suggested, has genuinely enhanced my fishing technique. Highly recommend giving these techniques a try for anyone looking to up their fishing game!

When the spinnerbait or chatterbait bite died at my old home lake my fishing buddy and I would switch to a Keitech swing impact fat on a VMC heavy duty weighted willow swimbait hook. We would chuck that thing out there as far as possible and then strip line and let it get to the bottom. Then slow roll it back to the boat keeping bottom contact. We would absolutely smash them on it! Works great in deeper water too. I would add a nail weight if needed. Here’s a little tip I’ll give that I liked to do with that VMC weighted willow bladed hook is take some snips and cut the wire off that the blade is attached to and then just connect it with two small split rings and a good barrel swivel. That brings the blade closer to the actual bait itself and there was less stuff for the blade to get hung up on. Usually it was just bottom gunk. We wrecked em on that!

I really appreciate videos like this, man. For someone who recently discovered a passion for fishing, it’s awesome to be able to learn from professionals like you. I know I still have so much to learn, but I will definitely be trying some of these baits. It’s really hard to pick a favorite out of everything you mentioned, but I think it is actually the crossover rings. I love throwing a wacky rig and a neko, so I’m eager to try those.
